This was my final for my Photoshop class last semester. Very Hugh-Syme-y, of course, and with a joke tracklist.

I actually got excited about that fake track list. The thing with two epics at the end is really cool, kinda like Sacrificed sons / Octavarium or The Best of times / The Count of Tuscany.

And also yeah, fake tracklists are exciting.

Sorry I don't have artwork to go with this,
But here's my idea, love it or hate it...

Album title: The Inevitable Continuance-

1) A Blast from the Present (4:52) short hard rock / metal track, with maybe a little lyrical commentary on the current state of the world. Might need to be a little longer.
2) The Relentless Controversy (15:26) A lyrical collaboration by the entire band, or at least Petrucci, LaBrie and Myung, about the existence of God, and how to interpret who and what He is...
3) In My Time of Living (7:43) James LaBrie reflecting on being in his 50's.
4) Loss of Inspiration (6:37) A ballad about the struggle to find the motivation to keep going, both as a person, and as an artist
5) Everlasting Oblivion (10:18) Instrumental
6) Metropolis Part Three: The Past Never Dies (20:44) This could maybe a story in which we learn how the deaths of both Victoria and Nicholas affect the people in their respective eras.
7) Closing the Door on the Past (8:08) A VERY progressive song with a lyrical theme about trying to overcome the tragic events that shape our lives

Some people are like that. It's called atheism. I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of fans left because Dream Theater wrote a blatantly Christian song (of course this is a rather immature reaction, but I wouldn't be surprised at all). Besides, I don't even know if everyone in the band would support that idea.

The chorus to I walk Beside You could be interpreted as such.

No offense to DT, but after having read the lyrics to TGD, I just don't think they're cut out to write lyrics about heavyweight topics.

That said, your idea of giving explanations to song titles got me intrigued. Here it goes:

1. Fifteen Years -A song about a woman who stole a baby from a stroller and, while shortly after regretting the action, has raised the child as her own daughter for the last 15 years because she's afraid to disclose her initial crime.
2. Ding - A completely whimsical mega-prog tune, written by JR
3. Band of brothers - About the exhilaration, the companionship, the lonely nights, that come with touring with 5 dudes around the world.
4. LGA - Homage to YYZ
5. Beyond - Song about how Hawking radiation might violate conditional locality. The song ends with each member of DT stopping to play at different times, and at the end MM saying "I have no idea what the fuck this song is about. I'm gonna go watch the Pats."

I don't know what happened, but I wrote a response to this post earlier.

Somehow it managed to disappear.

Anyway, the idea I had was NOT intended to be "blatantly Christian."

It was to explore the different possibilities of who or what God is.

weather I or anyone else would agree or disagree with any ideas or possibilities that they come up with wouldn't matter.

Also, I find it very hard to believe that anyone who doesn't believe in ANYTHING spiritual could be a Dream Theater fan , as they are a VERY spiritual band.

They have several songs that mention God, angels "unearthly guide,' Afterlife, spirits, forces of evil...need I go on?

I've never seen DT as a very spiritual band at all, personally. I can't imagine an atheist listening to any DT song and thinking, "Whoa, this is just WAY too spiritual for me".

It's always rather interesting to see how every person maps their personal framework over the lyrics they listen to. I personally have never perceived DT to be particularly religious or spiritual. In fact, given how there was zero reference to any higher power in all of the 12-step suite (where the AA system specifically asks for one), I find DT's religious affiliations apocryphal at best. I frankly think they're just a bunch of guys with cultural ties to various religions, but none of them cares enough to really write about the matter.

To me, the music comes first, the lyrics second. Additionally, the best thing about most of DT's 'spiritual' lyrics is that they can be interpreted in many ways. I, for example, tend to interpret these sorts of lyrics as metaphors for the challenges one faces, overcoming them to become a better person, the bonds with those around us, and so on. They do not have a strictly spiritual meaning, and I have never seen them as having such. And even if they did, I would not have an issue with it, as the music comes first.

Also, Afterlife was unmistakably written by Charlie, and for reasons known to anybody who visited his forum 5 years ago, he needs to he bracketed out from anything spiritual.
Once you take those lyrics away, any reference to higher powers in the remaining DT lyrics is vague at the very best.

I don't like discussing religion in public as it leads to way too many problems, but wanted to comment on this. I myself do not associate myself with any religion, nor do I believe in spiritual beings such as a deity (or multiple deities) who controls us all. That being said, DT is my favorite band, regardless of lyrical content. Scarred is overtly Christian, and I love it to death. Hell, Ghost is a tongue in cheek Satanic band, and I love them too. Tenacious D sings about absolute nonsense but write some of the great acoustic guitar riffs I've ever heard.

Lyrical content does not deter me, and I'm willing to bet that's true for many individuals who listen to bands where the instrumentation is put before the lyrical content, such as DT. If the music is good and the vocal melodies are good, I'm down.

Please don't let my views on religion refkect me as a person if you choose to believe in a different faith. We're all here for mock up artwork and tracklists, not religious battles. KTHANXBAI

If you don't like that idea, you can ignore it.

It is just one of several that I had proposed.

It's all moot, anyway.

the possibility of the band using ANY of our ideas on their next album is at LEAST 99.9% against.

They can write a song called "The God Particle". I just really want to hear LaBrie growl out "THE HIGGS BOSON" in a chorus.

Hall of Great Predictions (79:17)

01 - Veins (12:22) - About rage and how anger can tear at you personally and the effect of constant anger on your family and other environments.
02 - Anywhere But Here (6:02) - About lucid dreaming. Someone learns to love the life in his dreams more than his real life.
03 - Panorama Image (5:43) - About how one must sometimes adapt to a pessimistic style of life in order to deal with this world, but how one cannot do it too much and lose yourself to that sort of personality.
04 - Defiant (7:30) - A story about two childhood friends growing up, and the influence they both had on each other.
05 - Mirage (6:41) - Theoretical physics. About how we may just be holographic projections from the rims of the universe.
06 - Roadblock (8:29) - About dimensions above our perception and what it might mean for our existance.
07 - Unmaking (16:15) - A man having hallucinations, but refuses to believe them. Everyone else convinces him that they can see them too and that they are real. Everything is fine and dandy until it is revealed he imaged those people as well.
08 - The Rake (5:45) - The properties of time over great astronomical distances. Relativity.
09 - Limerance (10:30) - A study in the chemical and psychological prospects of love.

Some ideas I have planned for myself. Quite a few science-themed songs. There'd actually have to be some research done on various forms of psychology and theoretical physics by JP and the other's part to write these. And a considerable amount of effort to form them into poetic lyrics. No more cliches taking a few seconds to come up with, please.

Roll the Dice - the general theme of the album is taking chances/luck and how different things can be depending on them. Full of cliche's, but oh well  :P

1. Close Your Eyes (8.42) - The Pull Me Under/On The Backs of Angels style opener. Deals with taking chances blindly and the consequences. (Petrucci)
2. The Feeling's Mutual (6.30) - The heavy, aggressive lead single. (Petrucci)
3. A Second Chance (4.46) - A ballad about a breakup and reconciliation. (LaBrie)
4. Risk and Reward (11.04) - Self explanatory title. Really proggy track. (Myung)
5. Power Struggle (7.02) - Another fast paced, heavy song. Crushing riffs and blistering solos, but with a really catchy chorus. (Petrucci)
6. Follow the Light (6.50) - A lighter, much more mellow song. Second single. (Petrucci)
7. Poverty and Profit (10.19) - A tale about 2 brothers separated at birth - one lives a life of poverty, the other lives in luxury, using his wealth and connections to make more money off the less fortunate. 2 distinct styles of music separate the song, each representing 1 of the brothers. (LaBrie)
8. Cheating Fate (17.56) -
    I. Introspection (Instrumental)
    II. Connection
    III. Misdirection
    IV. Reflection
The Epic, featuring varying styles of music and more experimental sections. (Petrucci)

Total: (73.09)

No reason to guess what was already foreshadowed on the official website when ADTOE was released.
Don't you remember?

It has the unicycle clown on the rope, that was ADTOE.
Right behind that is a planet with some blue light representing DT12.

Which means we'll inevitably get a forest silhouette, the aurora borealis/australis, and a bigger (probably alien) planet on future album covers.
The ultimate easter egg, and I found it!
:omg: :o :eek

I'm sure Hugh already bought a few stock images.

Greetings...

P.S.: No, I'm not serious.

There are two songs on Rhythm of Time with vocals (Beyond Tomorrow and Tear Before The Rain). They have Kip Winger singing, but there are alternate versions with JR singing. Would love to see his voice in DT in a harmonic/backing role, actually--he's a more technically proficient singer than JP, and he has a powerful bass voice that neither James or JP do.

I couldn't remember how many there were on RoT. I'd like to hear JR's voice in a backing vocal role too, even if he doesn't want to do it live. I like the contrast of the different voices together.

But seriously, The Count of Tuscany is the closest to what you want that I would realistically expect. It doesn't have any numbered sections, even though we divide it into sections in our minds.

I don't expect them to go for a 20+ minute, free-form, sectionless epic at all, but it's certainly an interesting hypothetical to think about.

They can write a song called "The God Particle". I just really want to hear LaBrie growl out "THE HIGGS BOSON" in a chorus.

Ayreon's The Theory of Everything already did that to death.

As for my track list:

Dream Theater - The Spinning Wheel

1. From the Ashes - 13:17
2. Take Me to the Edge - 6:54
3. Sounds of Desperation - 8:03
4. Worlds Unknown - 12:22
5. All That Ever Was - 5:49
6. The Spinning Wheel - 28:51 (separate tracks)
   i. Never Out of Mind (7:37)
   ii. Chasing the Stories (6:13)
iii. When You Lose Your Sight (5:09)
iv. Finding a Distant Light (9:52)

This! I was going to suggest this myself for an epic that feels like one single piece rather than a multi-movement work that is the norm for this form.

Intro, V, B, C, V, B, C, instrumental break, coda. Just that some of the sections are very extended. Pink Floyd do the same with Echoes. It's basically a 3xV/C structure, but the instrumental break in the middle lasts for 14 minutes.

JLB can join in as long as we don't get more lyrics like Prophets of War.

I'll gladly take more lyrics like Prophets of War  :metal

Same here, I mean god forbid we actually ask some of the questions proposed in that song. I actually quite like JLBs lyrics for this reason, they're inquisitive and often introspective. Musical conceptions aside, the message is genuine. :yarr

It would be interesting if you turned the O in the Majesty symbol into the moon.  It could either be a blue moon to complement the stars or a yellow-reddish moon to compliment the horizon.

Or it could be an eclipse and the sun haloing around the moon could become the O.

Actually that would go pretty well with the slideshow effect of the Dream Theater covers as the Majesty symbol orbits the planet as it slowly rises until the planet disappears, to be replaced by the moon eclipsing the sun.

Then the album can be a concept album of Greek mythology with Apollo and Artemis as the main characters.

Then the album after next would be the sun(star) collapsing into a black hole.  That will be the return of Mike "The Blackhole" Portnoy album as he once again consumes everything around him.

A few days ago I made up an album cover and tracklist based in the wonderful work of Elena Shumilova; it's not very DTish, but a change in the artwork wouldn't be that bad, isn't it?  :P

The album is called 'Grower', and it's dark, heavy and adventurous. Produced by JP, JR and JLB, and mixed/mastered by Jens Bogren, the album gives Jordan a lot of space, including songs ala Easter Egg ('Seed') or with a latin/jazzy mood (the middle section of the epic 'Eternal Bloom'), and even a few sections more electro-oriented ('Chrysalis Eterna'). It also features heavy-riffing and groove driven songs ('Shadow: Within'), and with a djentish flavour, but not quite ('Deterritorialization'). Petrucci will also showcase a sensibility for acoustic guitar ballads in the vein of Opeth ('Shadow: Without'). I like to see it as a mix of SFAM's musicality, SDOIT's experimentation, ToT's heaviness and ADTOE's instrumental sections; a man can dream  :lol

You can read a more detailed description of the songs (including lyric content) and the album itself in this article I wrote: https://theshamansblog.com/2015/01/27/mi-concepto-del-dt13-grower/ (sorry for the spam!)

And here's the cover art:

I've wished for quite some time that DT stops using Hugh Syme's digital stuff and turn to real photography instead. That's probably one of the reasons I like Train of Thought's art so much, it feels much more mature than, say, Systematic Chaos.

What the fuck

It's based on the artwork for Opeth's Pale Communion, which is basically three paintings. Not that it makes that any less weird, but that's the reason.

My original plan was to cut out the Majesty logo composed of stars from the 'Along for the Ride' page in the DT12 liner notes, but the contrast of the colors was too jarring.

Quote
Then the album can be a concept album of Greek mythology with Apollo and Artemis as the main characters.

It is actually a concept album about the past repeating itself in slightly different ways. This is reflected in the album title, Regressing Into Eternity. This notion is further reinforced by the track names and lengths. Hopefully someone notices this time...

Then the album after next would be the sun(star) collapsing into a black hole.  That will be the return of Mike "The Blackhole" Portnoy album as he once again consumes everything around him.

Dream Theater - Stories of the Nocturnal (I guess you could call it a concept album about dreams)

1 - Split Facade: 7:05
2 - Overcast: 9:32
3 - Scherzo of Silence: 6:44
4 - Abysmal Reverie: 30:39
   i - Iron Stampede: 8:36
   ii - Forest Silhouette: 6:49
   iii - Red Trees: 4:17
   iv - Diseased: 3:26
   v - Globes of Light: 7:31
5 - Lamplight: 13:55
6 - Candlelight: 4:52
7 - Zero Gravity/Descent: 8:35

I have to quote this because it's so awesome.

I might buy 5 copies if they made that.

Threen. Apart from this discussion, that should be used as thirteen. In this discussion, it could be the album title too. And it would be a story about bad luck, happening in 13 different times, but all events are interlinked. Like Cloud Atlas, but with guitars.

Dream Theater - Aristotle's Day Off (in which Dream Theater explore their more philosophical side)

1. ....or not. (a short intro) 0.09.
2.  Jordan's off to Venus 6.09 (a keyboardless track, but oddly enough, not bad at all)
3. Contemplate and Accumulate 7.13* (The band's effort to explain the lack of financial wealth after 30 odd years)
4. What happened to Mike? 4.09 (a drumless track with Mangini on mouthharp) The less said about this, the better.
5. The Pirate's Lament 9.09 (a rare display of very agressive lyrics by Labrie, so agressive this album gets a PG 18 rating)
6. Why isn't anybody smiling at a DT-Concert? 0.59 (an honest quenstion posed by Myung, with some surprising answers)
7. Who Says A Progressive Metal Band Can't Play Free Jazz? 20.09 (Funkadelic cover, done in a tasteful manner, but alas, instrumental)
8. Let's Put Our Cards On The Table 2.09  stacked deck mix (a candid interlude discussing the direction of the band, ending with an angry Petrucci breaking the table and spilling the cards)
9. Bear Tracks 13.09 (another classic folks, sung by Myung as Labrie had stummach flu and the band decided to leave it that way. Also, tribute to the famed studio's)
10. Things That Might Have Been 3.09 (beautiful parting ballad with Rudess on lead guitar, burried somewhere in the mix for some reason)

*Notice the clever use of the numbers for good- and bad luck? Ha! philophosize on that!

Produced by Mangini and Myung as it was their turn for a change, with most of the work done by Myung in the quiet hours of the night, as Mangini was never there.
Engineered by Kevin Shirley (well some of it, not all of it, in fact maybe none of it) and Rich Chycky or whatever the guy's name is. In other words, it sounds like crap.
Cover art by Poopy the rednosed elephant, which is a clever suedonym for Labrie. Later reissued with updated artwork after the demise of the band over moneyquarrels.

Speaking of metal bands - how many metal or hard rock bands have NEVER used the word "Blood", "Bleeding" or "Bleed" in a song title or album title ?

Think of any Hard Rock / Metal band and there's always one.

Megadeth doesn't. I'm as surprised as you are.

They did release a DVD called Blood in the Water though.

No album cover because it would look terrible if I designed it.

Dream Theater – Duality (2016)

Disc 1: Sapphire Skies

1. Sapphire 7:12 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung, Mangini – Lyrics by Petrucci) – Abstract lyrics relating to the colour blue and the concept of peace. While the song is technical, it isn't relatively that heavy and has a 70s prog vibe with some Rudess experimentation and soaring, melodic guitar solos.
2. Understanding Fate 5:20 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess – Lyrics by Petrucci) – Lyrics about the inevatability of decay. This song is more of a somber acoustic guitar-based ballad and contains a long outro seaboard solo where the rest of the band enter.
3. In Clear View 6:48 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung, Labrie – Lyrics by Myung) – About recovery from a mentally ill state. Some loosely structured Progressive Metal with changing moods.
4. Ashes of Rebellion 14:34 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung, Mangini – Lyrics by Labrie) – About whether rebellion is worth the cost. Begins with an epic and heavy instrumental section followed by a dark ballad that becomes increasingly sinister before a heavy bridge then melodic soloing before closing with an intense variant on the chorus.
5. Dualities 6:50 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung, Mangini – Instrumental) Remeniscent of some of Liquid Tension Experiment's work but with Mangini's complex polyrhythms.
6. Found Again 3:39 (Music by Rudess – Lyrics by Labrie) – About finding solace in coming home to family after a long tour. A piano diven ballad.
7. Receding Into Memory 8:28 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung, Mangini – Lyrics by Petrucci) – About regrets and how the initial actions may be beneficial in the long term. An epic uplifting ballad with a trimphantly heavy ending.

Total time: 52:51

Disc 2: Crimson Seas

1. Crimson 9:02 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung, Mangini – Lyrics by Petrucci) – Abstract lyrics relating to the colour red and the concept of chaos. Opens with sounds from various Rudess apps then builds up to the some of the heaviest and most intense instrumental sections that Dream Theater have come up with and the rest of the song consists of aggressive distorted vocals above chugging, a sinister chorus, a melodically dark solo and a chorus fading out into a dissonant piano outro.
2. The Forever Mile 6:32 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung, Mangini – Lyrics by Labrie) – About refugees and their journey away from home. Modern Prog Metal like 'The Enemy Inside' with a similar hint of desperation and intensity.
3. Calculated Emotion 10:11 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung, Mangini – Instrumental) An symphony-esque instrumental with three distinct movements, alternating between jazzy motifs, atmospheric breaks and technical outbursts.
4. Masquerade 8:50 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung, Mangini – Lyrics by Rudess) – About internet anonymity. Mid-paced Prog Metal with an extended intro.
5. Escalation from Thought 15:08 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung, Mangini – Lyrics by Petrucci) – About questioning what will become of your humanity once technology takes over. An epic with an increasing sense of darkness with a main melody appearing in various places in a different mood.

Total time: 49:43

Combined Time: 102:34

Yup, I thought that with the idea of them wanting to do something different and the possibility of it being a double album, the most sensible thing to do would be to have two discs that cater to different sides of them and pushing them to extremes. Sapphire Skies would be the mellow Prog Rock side similar to FII but more technical in the style of classic bands like Yes and Rush with organic production and Crimson Seas would be the intense Prog Metal side which would be pushing the darker side of their sound (like the melancholy in Awake and aggression in TOT) and pushing that far beyond their other albums, sounding like a merge of Fates Warning and Periphery with a more multi-layered and modern element. When I think about it, it's kind of similar to Periphery's Juggernaut but with a larger difference between the two albums.

Thanks guys. :tup

I tried to make some of the titles sound Dream Theater esque with:
Sapphire Skies / Crimson Seas - Similar sounding to 'Crimson Sunrise / Sunset' of ACoS.
In Clear View - Ties in with Myung's spiritual sounding titles ('Learning to Live', 'Breaking All Illusions' and 'Surrender to Reason' in particular).
Calculated Emotion - Slightly self explatory instrumental title like 'Enigma Machine' or 'Stream of Conciousness'.
Receding Into Memory and Escalation from Thought - Sound like songs from Train of Thought (like 'Honor Thy Father')
Understading Fate and Ashes of Rebellion - Both call back to ADToE with lyrics from BAI and the theme of Outcry respectively.

Also, the length of the album and individual discs is similar to SDoIT but due to an effort to make it double rather than one extended epic unintentionally taking up its own disc, it would be more like two fully-realised small (for DT) albums rather than two parts of a whole.

Dream Theater- Over the Horizon

1. The Dark Fantastic (13:13; Heavy, proggy opener. A Petrucci lyric. Not a long, drawn out opener like ANtR, but an interesting, hard hitting, fantastic journey through the musical genius-ness that is the members of DT, showing everyone that they're in for one hell of a ride with album 13.)
2. The Wonders of Life (6:37; Calmer prog song after the monstrous opener. Not a ballad, but a fun, upbeat song to keep up the momentum, just not as heavy. Myung Lyric.)
3. Into the Machine (4:44; fun, groovy metal song about giving into the lies we've all been taught to believe. Mangini's first lyric for DT. big, catchy chorus.)
4. Matriarch (7:42; Petrucci's first attempt at an 8-string tune. I'm not talking a Djenty sounding song, but something along the lines of a Haken 8-string song-heavy, but not overbearingly, and uses a wider range of the 8th string rather than using it for simply a heavier sound. Crazy technical instrumental with a plethora of time signature changes, monstrous riffs, and space/time continuum-disrupting solos on all 4 instruments.)
5. Faded Vision (5:56; Dark-to-Light ballad with a LaBrie lyric. starts off on the darker side of losing one's faith in humanity and eventually their self. Sad bass line, continuum driven melody in a minor key. But after an emotional solo by JP, the person in question restores his faith and finds hope again in life. Main melody is the same, just in a happier, major key, with big sounding drums and a cinematic style keyboard sound to add effect.)
6. Total Chaos (4:23; short, fast instrumental. Starts with a groovy bass line, opens into a big riff section. Some thrashy sections, solos, time sig changes, the whole 9 yards. Very chaotic and relentless.)
7. Insidious (8:58; The heaviest, darkest DT song ever. Petrucci lyric. Song about a demon rising from beneath the ground to claim the blood of the living to please his dark master. Some fast, technical foot pedal work from Mangini, crushingly heavy riffs from JP, heavy effects on LaBrie. The instrumental section in the middle is wild and grim.)
8. Majestic Light (5:36; Surrender to Reason type proggy song. Upbeat, fun, and features a prominent rhythm section. Starts off big and epic with some somber parts, emotional solos from JP and JR with a strong bass line and drum groove. Ends with a fade out as JP solos and Mangini improvs. Myung Lyric.)
9. The In-Between (8:23; Very space oriented, experimental song. Rudess lyric involving sci fi and astronomical themes. Heavy use of his apps, Petrucci's pedals, wide range of percussive instruments, and a chapman stick for different kinds of effects.)
10.  New Horizons (14:30; Longer closing track. Standard epic, interesting, technical closer we’ve come to expect from DT, with some new twists. A passage sang by JP on lead vocals, dueling solos between 2 orchestral instruments,  and an extended drum break that builds back into the instrumental section. Petrucci lyric.)

Run time: 80:00 minutes.

Random track list I threw together in about an hour while I was bored. Tried to throw in some new, different directions for DT, especially since this is their intentions with this album. Terrible at photoshop so can’t make a cover lol

Just a title, but as this currently stands as the only new-album-speculation thread, it's going here.

Time Hurries Endlessly.

For those who note the lack of a certain word in DT album titles.

Dream Theater-Our 13th album

1. The Hard Hitting Opener That We'll Use As A Show Opener For The Tour
2. The Rock (Or Maybe Metal) Single
3. A Prog Song With A Metal Twist Or A Metal Song With A Prog Twist?
4. The First Ballad (You Knew It Was Coming)
5. Long Heavy Song That Goes Through A Bunch Of Different Parts Where We Go Nuts (Why Can't They Play With Feel?)
6. Another Hard Hitting Track
7. What About A Second Ballad? No? Well Here It Is!
8. The Song Everyone Will Skip To Go To Next Song
9. The Album Mini-Epic That Will Blow Everybody's Mind (Why Did We Even Bother Writing All Those Other Songs?)
10. Soft Track That Nobody Will Care About Because Of The Previous Song
Fairly good guess.  :lol

In the possibility of a concept album...

Dream Theater – Reimagining (2016)

1. Peril 7:21 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung, Mangini – Lyrics by LaBrie) - Sets the scene in the future when the economy is dead, riots happen daily and all hope is lost. A heavy son with electronic and expressionist influences, ending in a short, dissonant Rudess solo
2. Over the Horizon 5:28 (Music by Dream Theater – Lyrics by Petrucci) - Goes back in time to when there the future was filled with optimism. A ballad based off of the hidden track off of DT12 with full instrumentation.
3. Universal Flow 13:31 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung, Mangini – Instrumental) - Traces (with samples) major events that led to the collapse of society and the music follows the reactions to these with about 3 minutes seperating each event. Somewhat like a merge between Hell's Kitchen and The Dance of Eternity.
4. Eclipse 11:43 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Mangini – Lyrics by Myung) - About how people cope with the return to a primitive state. Experimental Prog Rock with strange Rudess apps and slow Jazz-influenced solos.
5. Through Sight and Sound 15:56 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung, Mangini – Lyrics by Petrucci, Rudess) - Describes the integration of technology with the bodies of people and how this has made them outcasts. Complex Prog Metal epic with a very serious, heavy and bleak angle.
6. To Forgive and Forget 9:08 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung – Lyrics by Petrucci) - About an underground force working to restore order. Hopeful-sounding Prog Rock with Yes-esque harmomies.
7. Reimagining 12:40 (Music by Petrucci, Rudess, Myung, Mangini – Lyrics by Petrucci) - Describes the organised push against the tyrannical overlords, which turns out to be a catastrophic failure, resulting in the death of the millions of humans left and turning earth into a dried husk of its former self. Starts out in the vein of dark mid-paced Power Metal before a haunting mid section preceeding a borderline death metal instrumental section with a sombre ending.

Woudn't be a linear story with characters and such like SfaM, but would be more like Symphony X's Iconoclast in that while there is story progression, it doesn't rely on events as much as situations.

Crossing Endless Skies

1. Harvest Of Clouds [John Petrucci] (08:26) - A prog rock opener, harsh riffing, dirty organs and snarling pigs.
2. Endless Skies [John Petrucci] (02:10) - Acoustic ballad, cool synths and atmospheric pads.
3. Blue [James LaBrie] (07:31) - Kinda psychedelic, pink-floyd-ish beggining, with a really proggy and odd ending.
4. Ride The Blue Horizons [John Petrucci, John Myung] (11:34) -  Bass intro, with a atmospheric harmony by JR, drivin' the song into a prog journey that ends up in...
5. Teardrops From The Unknown (3:03) [James LaBrie] - Recurring theme from the previous song, but only with keys, vocals and some MM harmonies and fills.
6. Broken Skies (06:18) [John Petrucci] - Recurring theme from 'Blue', but turning a bit darker. Lots of choir and clean guitars with delay.
7. The Misty Dawn (09:52) [John Petrucci] - The heavier tune from the record. Starts with the theme from the previous song, same mood, and turns into a Meshuggah-ish riffage, with odd time signatures and lots of insanities from MM. Wacky JP's ending solo.
8. Darkness And Oblivion (06:40) [Instrumental] - Heavy riffage, soloing bass and lots of moog. Odd time signatures, turns the song into a solid rock song. A Zen Riffer solo to lead the song into...
9. Road Through The Infinity (18:10) - A proggy journey with recurring themes from "Harvest Of Clouds", "Ride The Blue Horizon" and "Darkness And Oblivion", lots of time signatures and mood changes. Epic JP solo in the middle of it, to lead the song into a instrumental section a la "Hell's Kitchen". The song gets a bit heavier with amazing MM and JM duets between the riffage. Then, it gets back to the main theme, with a JR incredible solo, leading to the epic ending of the song.

Why don't we go the Metallica way for shortening song titles? when I was a kid everyone was talking about "Master" or "Justice" and everyone knew what they were talking about. "Damn, DT did Master in the middle of Pull Me Under"... you'd immediately get it. Would it be a (fatal) tragedy to write Sacrifice, Ministry, Illumination, Bridges, Lifting Shadows, Enemies etc etc?  ;D I mean, what do you all do with the time you save of typing only initials instead of even the most important word of the title, take a trip to the seaside or something?

Actually that sounds like a single title of a weird psychedelic instrumental piece  ;D something that starts eerie, gets things going in the middle and ends trippy.

The new 'astonishing' album grabs you right off the bat.  An all white, scratch off cover.  I couldn’t resist this marketing tool, and went to the Roadrunner Records' preview to grab two:  one to scratch, one to leave alone.  I ended up having to buy six at twice the price, because I wanted the bonus version (see below), but screwed up and scratched off the wrong covers until coming across the correct one.
“You break it, you buy it!”
Lesson learned.
This p*ssed off four other reviewers, who arrived late and had to leave empty handed because they wanted the original version.
Check out my site on eBay (can't wait for the bidding wars, suckers)

I will let the band members explain the lyrics in another article (yes, all five had a hand in this one).  As to the song titles, JP explained that the band struggled in this area, suffering from somewhat of a 'withering' effect.  Not quite sure what that means, but I digress.

Anyhoo, on to the music.

Track listings
1. Born To Be Kings (11:04)   “Here we are, Born To Be Kings, we’re the princes of the universe.”  Holy crap! You know you are in for a, shall I say it, astonishing adventure with this intro. All five members (and special unnamed guest) provide the opening vocals with 150 overdubs, as well as the backing vocals throughout this bombastic album opening rocker.  This semi-cover of Queen’s ‘Princes of the Universe’ incorporates the demo version and ‘Gimme The Prize’.  Petrucci goes back in time with the ‘Misunderstood’-type play/tape/play tape backwards/emulate backwards tape and play procedure that made me jump out of my chair, thinking it was Brian May and his Red Special making a guest appearance.
Well, he DOES on this one!   When John and the good Doctor (really, he has his PhD) speed this one up into overdrive, sharing and alternating solo riffs, you swear the heavens have opened up.  9.95/10 BTBK could have gone on another 3 minutes.

2.  Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers (1:55) After the epic opener, a short rocker that throws a monkey wrench at the fans in their beliefs of the band, who say to themselves, 'that's astonishing' when viewing the title.  Actually, this reviewer went 'WTF?'.  An odd first promo video as well, especially seeing Roger Taylor of Queen joining James on LVs, and playing a bit of rhythm guitar as he and Petrucci pay tribute to ZZTop with their fuzzy twirling guitars and ZZ Topish long beards.  7/10  BDaHR might be a minute too long.

Even more astonishing is, upon a closer listen, the auto tuned backing vocal just might be, could be......and is.......

3.  I Was So Tired (3:26)  Mike Portnoy continues 'the astonishing' theme by providing more vocals, this time as guest lead on this semi-cover of The Beatles' blues-ish  ‘I’m So Tired’.  Not the greatest track, but very good for change of tempo and mood.  Note the slight change in lyrics that appear near the end:

"I was so tired, I needed a one year break.
Although I was so tired, it was a big mistake."

8/10  I like this, I really do, just wish IWST was longer (imagine saying that about a DT song!)

4.  Bang On The Drums (6:25)  DT changes pace again, picking things up with their standard one fun, upbeat, feel good track per album.   On this Todd Rundgren cover, it's just Portnoy and Mangini doing a vocal and percussion duet.  BOTD is absolutely and unequivocally Astonishing!  Astounding!  9.9/10

 5.  Ravenskill (4:28)  Jordan's instrumental homage to Edgar Allen Poe and the Baltimore Ravens football team.  The original version clocked in at 52:35, as Ray Lewis is asked to provide some spoken words in the middle bridge, but goes off script as always and rambles on about life, God, team, his favorite foods as a boy, his wardrobe, etc.  Ends abrubtly as Jordan develops cramps in all three hands.  Soon to be a DT collectors’ dream (or nightmare to remember).   5.5/10  because I wish R didn't fade into the next track, 9/10 if R (or Rs or Rk or Rkill if you prefer) faded a bit sooner.

This album version begins with soft piano intro, a thrill ride middle, repeated piano outro, leading into….

6.  No More Mr. Nice Guy (8:12)  John Myung's gnarly, snarling whispered lead vocals.   Astonishing!  With the bass turned up to 11, this makes up for it being so low in the mix on prior albums.  The reverb is so pronounced, that it may crack windows.  If it doesn't, it can cause your drywall to chip and fall off.  The theme changes drastically midway through (for no apparent reason), with various tempo changes of 10-30 musical second segments taken from all songs of Queensryche’s ‘Empire’ LP.   LaBrie makes a brief appearance, as he sings the chorus of Freddie Mercury’s ‘Mr. Bad Guy’, which will appease the JLB haters.

"I'm Mr. Bad Guy
Yes, I'm everybody's Mr. Bad Guy
Can't you see, I'm Mr. LaBrie....."
(can't you just visualize James giving a 'go eff yourselves' facial expression throughout this segment?)

‘Nice Guy’ (or NMMNG if you prefer), returns for the final two minutes.  An added bonus is the 45 second fade out, complete with all spoken words taken from JM’s interviews throughout the years.  Those that don't like JM's, or JLB's vocals (or both) just will hate this to death.  The rest of us will think it's alright to good to great.  The way they alternate as backing vocalists  for the other has to be heard to be appreciated.  8/10 (or 2/10, depending on who you are....and you know who you are).

Unlisted negative timed track (?) (2:05) After the fade out, rather than copying Alice and singing “Clee-hee-hee-hee, clee-hee-hee-hee, clee-hee-hee-hee-heeeeeeeen”, John simply speaks the word ‘clean’.  MP returns for the crashing two second drum ending of NMMNG (or ‘Nice Guy’ if you prefer), which continues on for another two astonishing minutes.

7.  Lower The Blade (11:24)  Fans will think the band used 'Raise The Knife' as the inspiration.  My guess is that the arguments will continue forever.  If RTK was the inspiration, so be it, as the sound of the LTB production is what the original should have been treated to (including the bass).   James’ vocals, which are good to very good throughout the album, are absolutely…….. breathtaking and stunning (and you thought I was going to write astounding or astonishing).  9.63/10

8.  Long, Long, Long (21:43) As the title states, this is a long one.  It didn't take me long to realize that this was about longing, or something long-related.  Themed around Harrison's 'White Album' track, the middle 15 minutes incorporates the beginning of Rush's '2112', Styx 'Mr. Roboto' from 'Kilroy Was Here' (and for some reason, 'Best of Times'), Queen's 'Long Away', Boston's 'Long Time',  a mellow interlude of Dan Fogelberg's 'Longer', as well as some movie soundtrack dialogue from the original 'The Longest Yard’.    Four minutes of the ending of The Who's 'Song is Over' is the first fade out, and then the eerie ending of ‘Long, Long, Long’ for ten seconds.   Won't use the 'A' word, but I will say this one is epic!  9.2/10

I didn't like it, couldn't get a handle on it, and then I  listened to this one 26 hours yesterday (that's over 100x!)
[expletive deleted verb] !!!!!!!! [expletive deleted noun]!!!!!!!   it is just absolutely [expletive deleted present tense verb] [expletive deleted adjective]!!!!!!!    I love, love, love LLL

9.  Hidden track (1:30) Petrucci guitar solo, enough to start smoking your stereo, get the dogs in the neighborhood barking, and may crack whatever glass still remains from track 6.

10.  Hidden track #2 (until the 80 minute disk space is used up)  The drum duet/battle returns, similar to the beginning of ‘The Shattered Fortress’.  They should call this ‘The Shattered Ceiling’, as what was left of mine after Track 9 (or is it Track 20?) crumbled down upon me.
Roger Taylor and his son Rufus provide additional percussion for five seconds.  Jason Bonham also provides drumming at the two minute mark in the left channel (or right, depending on how one wears their headphones).  Hard to tell if it is 'Moby Dick' or 'Battle Hymn of the Republic'.

Buyers’ note:  Two versions of this album will be available.  The first version will have the ten tracks listed.  The second version (easily identifiable with the Majesty logo in lower case on the sleeve after you scratch off the cover) has Track 1 will be divided into 4 tracks (subtitled ‘sub 1, sub 2, etc’), track 2 becomes track 5, and so on.  Track 8 on the original, will be divided into tracks 11-19 (with titles and no roman numerals in front), and the first hidden track will be track 20.  Track 10 (Hidden Track #2)  ((Track 21?))  contains one minute of Mike Portnoy and Ray Lewis spoken dialogue, the bonus and original North Korean versions have Portnoy just growling.  But oh, those drums!  I wish they would bang on them all day!!!!

This also provides the great debate (bazinga!)  as to whether tracks 1 and 8 are one song each, or 4 and 9, respectively.

It is obvious after a couple of listens, that this could…………(insert fade out of 'Finally Free'………)

[Sorry, but I've enjoyed this thread, and for some reason had ZZ Top in my head since seeing some recent JP pix.  And had time during last night's MNF game to put down some notes.  Briefly, I went to see Qryche in 2003, not knowing that DT would headline that night.  Had never heard of them until then.  Been a fan ever since.  So I'm a 50-ish relative 'newbie' who has attended 10 concerts and a meet and greet.  Still trying to catch up on as much as I can on this forum, and learn more, when time permits.]

Listened to this during the game....a fan made BC&SL (or Black Clouds if you prefer) instrumental WITH the guitar solos included that I just came across, that has probably been mentioned here earlier.

This is a potential thing I put up this morning, based on the info we have

Dream Theater - The Astonishing (2016)

CD 1:
1. 0 A.C.

(Opener instrumental about a nuclear war that destroyed half the world. C stands for Chaos, the name of the war.)

2. Empire

(Nice prog rock/solemn 9 minute piece that describes the rise of the Northen Empire)

3. Powerlessness

(A 5 and a half minute metal track, likely to be the single, where the suppression of the Empire through NOMACS and technology gets described.)

4. A New Sound

(Lengthy 7 minute ballad, the Chosen One finds out about his powers, and frees the mind of the inhabitants of Ravenskill)

5. Demolish

(A crazy 8 minute instrumental, symbolizes how people in Ravenskill have realized that they can change, and start to hack the technology from which they were once controlled).

6. Legion Of Sorrowful Song

(One of the two epics of the album, in its 15 minutes narrates how The Legion was taken over by the Empire because it was the last big force to stop their expansion. (Note: the characters do not know of this yet) All through the eyes of a child who dies in the attack, at the end of the piece)

CD 2:

7. The Day The System Failed

(Eight minutes metal fest, the heaviest song actually, about the rebels attacking the Palace using modified NOMACs, and then themselves. The rebels get into the chambers where the tablets that are controlling everyone else are located and smash them.)

8. Misplacement

(4 minutes rock tune à la One Last Time, with an epic solo at the end where Arhys finds out about The Legion thing, and kills the Emperor. Although the Emperor also kills him in the end, before he passes away.)

9. Brother

(6 minutes dark ballad where the Chosen One mourns Arhys, and promises salvation. Everyone is gathered at this point for the grand event.)

10. The Astonishing

(18 minutes long epic that describes the Chosen One freeing everyone's mind. Lots of recurring themes in this one, especially from A New Sound)

11. 2286 A.D.

(A final 3 minutes piece based on the Easter Egg at the end of Illumination Theory. It reminds us once again that in order  to really feel joy, we must suffer a bit.)

Yours is not too shabby either Kotowboy! I get some Octavarium vibe from it, which is cool. I fell like they might go with a ''grittier'' type cover than this though. We'll see.

Edit: Nice one too Zydar. It looks soooo pretty! I can already imagine a Nomac shooting a laser beam at the bird.

I'm sure the guys in the band are gonna get upset with me leaking the cover image, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

Incidentally, it was pretty interesting to see all the theories on how The Astonishing was gonna be the sequel to SFaM or 8v. Well, when the band said it was a double concept album, they weren't kidding! Turns out it's a sequel to both albums!

[continued review from I.M. Hipp]

Found out that the lyric booklet contains scratch offs.  Since I have six of them, I could afford to ruin one.  In the process, I discovered a whole new set of lyrics….for the flip side of the disc!  Now that was an ….astonishing discovery!!!!  The setlist scotty cover design was used as its cover.  Good job, sir. Herein lies my review of what is now just the original two demo discs of this amazing, soon to be ytsejam bootleg release.  Hope enough copies are made available.

1.  Awaken (16:36)  Not to be confused with the Yes track from 'Going For The One' (though JRs use of St. Patrick's Cathedral organ was a nice touch), or DTs second album, this quick, punchy opener with mood sweeping middle is a call to arms for anyone embattled or oppressed in life by an individual or group.  It also further introduces us to our protagonist, a member of the Ravenskill (or RsKill) who goes by the name of 'Meak'.   I begin to feel a theme developing.  JLB lyrics (with a nod to Jon Anderson), are sung beautifully. 'A' is best listened to in the dark at midnight.
       I:  6:01
II:  Hanging On By A Thread
III:  I'm Beside Myself, So Mind Yourself
     IV:  Window
      V:  Truth
     VI:  Dark Shadows Lifted
    VII:  Circled
   VIII:  Tie Dye Jacket
9.7/10 ,  HOBAT, W, T, and E are great segments,  IBMSMY, DSL, and TDJ are arguably superior. The 'awakened, gently must touch myself' often repeated chorus made me want to [expletive deleted verb]!!!!!   It's THAT good!

2.  Evermore (13:33)  A ballad intertwined with creepy ANTR synths and Poe Raven-styled lyrics, touching on Meak's increased standing in the underground Ravenskill (or RsKills, or 'rascals' if you prefer).  As speaker, it is here where Meak delivers the historic 'take me as I am' coded speech (telling the RsKills where and when to meet, and a direct order regarding two specific requirements needed).   Midway through this track, Mike Portnoy makes his first appearance on this disc, for some growling spoken words in German (translations relate to Genesis (band and book), Queen, Queen Elizabeth, and the weather).    A Mangini drum solo eventually enters, drowning out MP.  Sounds of a skirmish soon follow. Charlie Dominici's spoken German (and Italian?) LVs are now audible, the drums fade in and out as Kevin Moore joins in for a one minute keyboard solo. Derek Sherinian steps in for an even shorter solo appearance.  Speaking of solos, there's a bit of wankery from JP and JR for the final five minutes before the ending fade out.  E is good to great in spots, but seems to go on forevermore
           a.  Evermore  b.  Achdelieberium (Full Circle).  c.  Daydreamers, Unite!   d. Truly Full Circle   e.  Seasons Change
           6. Six Degrees (rub my axe and balls, it's frickin cold!)    f. Forevermore
8.2/10 until the 8 minute mark of E, 2/10 until the 9.876/10  final

3.  Screw You (Not Me) (5:26) - Now one of the two leaders of  Ravenskill, the more popular Meak speaks to the masses again,  a direct call to arms against the Empire.  An Easter Egg is available.  Play this track backwards, and one is able to hear the original demo,  titled 'Screw You (or Me?)' .  It has a much better chorus than the second, though the final, nonbackwards track has better production.  Debate will be endless on its merits.  It may be too similar to 'Never Enough' in its lyrical content ('everything is never enough, so screw you, not me').  I am hoping that the speech is directed at a boss, his enemies, the Empire, and not at us the listeners.  Anyway, that's how I'm going to view it.    The music is upbeat and oddly a-muse-ing.  6.8/10 for the SY(NM)forward version, 7.6/10 SY(oM) backwards.

   not the battle of evermore
4.  The Empire (2:45) / Over nothing but a haunting bass line, these spoken commands and orders through a megaphone are very disturbing.  John Myung lead vocals on TE.
5.  Strike Back (3:36) / Similar to live performances using the theme of 'Close Encounters' with 'Trial of Tears', this epic begins and ends with a wonderful JP solo, similar to the 'Star Wars' music theme, along with subtle MM percussion.  MP 'strikes back' with a tasty one minute stickfest.  The rallying cry for the Rascals (or RsKills, if you prefer).  Beautiful segue into. …..
6.  Path of Sorrows (11:04)  /  Spacey, meandering, rocking joyride of a track.  Meak, now with the full backing of the masses, leads the uprising against the Empire.   They arrive at a large metropolis, and it is raining.  I mean, it is pouring down!  The battle begins.  People soon are disappearing, the music is fading away, and the rain is constantly beating on the streets of this metropolis battle zone.  Systematic breakdowns create chaotic situations for the Rskill.   Injured, Meak is told by a faceless man to take something for the pain.  After a great bass/drum/keyboard interlude (way to keep the mood on this one JR), Meek awakens. He feels wonderfully miserable, or miserably wonderful (but certainly not beautiful).  Agonizing over his next move, he stands ever alert, and moves along, realizing that he and his small group are surrounded by a vast wasteland.  As far as he can see,  the ground is almost completely covered with ashes......  nothing but ashes.   And, damnit....... it's still frickin' raining!  How he wishes he were Home, or at least had worn waterproof raingear.

7.  The Empire/Strike Back (repriseS) (2:05) Slightly faster instrumental versions of tracks 4 and 5.  Or are they tracks 12 and 13?    (Crap, here we go again)  A terrific crashing reprise of PoS included as well.  Love the chimes!   The title is oddly familiar.  I give TE/SB/PoS/TESB(r) a 9.2/10  (Or is it ntboe'?)  for this sweet suite, especially PoS.  Trust me, PoS is not a piece of .....

8.  The Squire of Gothos (7:26)  ......moving on....., Meak and the small band of survivors have escaped the wasteland.   As this little group of rascals make their 5 year trip back Home for reinforcements, they have an encounter with a spoiled rotten,  childish adult alien named Trilane (friends call him 'Billy' or 'Billie').  Billy, with growling vocals by MP, is emotions in motion.  He discusses the 'stroke, and introduces them to his silent brother, Chris, who is also a Squire (sung by either Mangini or Myung).   It is inspired by a real life JP experience, where he is frightened that the wine served at dinner might not have any taste (which turned out to be true).  Quoting JP:  "This was written in my hotel room after I'd encountered the Trilane family.  I wanted to write it immediately, while the scenes in my memory were still fresh [wink].  Can't say that about the wine [chuckles].  A 'Star Trek' rerun was on the tube at the time.  The similarities are rather, uhm, er,  ahhhhhhh-mazing, aren't they?"  [grin]   Some booklets have the title incorrectly printed as 'The Squires of Gothos', The Squire(s?) of Gothos', 'The Squier of Gothos', and 'The Squiers of Gothos.'  However you look at it,  'Squire' (Squier(?), (or TSoG or TS(?)oG if you prefer) has two of the most lovely and haunting guitar leads ever, but the lyrics drag it down.  Brother, if only they were different.  ?/10

9.  1221 (21:12)  Other reviewers commented on its similarities to another concept album played backwards, but I didn't hear it.  I will say that its various musical tempos, styles, and themes are memorable and, dare I say it, 'EPIC!'  Nice orchestral arrangement included.
SPOILER ALERT:
It starts off with the Empire stating that 'we have assumed control AGAIN' (Myung and Rudess LVs), as Meak and the Rascals  leave Gothos.  The music and story goes through various ebbs and flows, with all five band members sharing LVs (depending on their roles).   Jordan's 'Bebot Bop', using an old rotary dial phone, is slightly out of place, and can be skipped or enjoyed.  Our story ends
[I SAID 'SPOILER ALERT!']  on an uplifting note.   Meak and the Rascals arrive Home, finally free, after a ten year absence.  Due to a dramatic turn, events were scheduled to celebrate the recent Empire's fall  the same day.  On a hillside on the outskirts of Home, an older Meak and the no longer young Rskills are treated to a heroes' welcome, with a 'W' in the win column for being ahead after five battles.  Meak wearily looks at the sky, finds his way across a bridge for some healing water (and scotch).    His train of thought is broken by an excited female voice.  His images of her are that of a young child, and words are difficult for him to describe the beauty of this young woman.   In her hands is an object she discovered and kept hidden while he was away.  He has indeed come Full Circle, already a hero, and owning this object will provide the dramatic turn to regaining his spot as THE elite Raven (sorry, Joe of Flacco).    As in 'The Foundation', the  farthest distance to travel is a circular route back to your starting point.   "To think that it was here along!!!   We could have ended all of this ten years (or 2 CDs) ago if we had only solved the riddle sooner," he whispers to himself (while a clock ticks in the background, and some hypnotic spoken phrasing enters).   The young woman Victory kisses Meak gently on the cheek.  After he plays a few notes on this wonderfully strange new object, she kisses him harder.  He, in turn, seizes Victory, and, .....well.                              The final two verses  close out this epic, as well as this review, once and for all (I promise), with could be classic lyrics, with all current and ex-DT members singing the first line:

"And MEAK shall inherit the earth."

After a brief, stunning instrumental, JLB follows at his balladeer best:
"Victory is real,
I finally feel,
at peace with the world (girl?) of my dreams...."

[this reviewer heard audible groans at this part]

....before ending with a rousing, rocking instrumental that could well have been the overture.  It's a strange deja vu, all over again. This segment is so classic, that it would make a great concert or encore opener.                                                                                         a: Overture Something (or Nothing)  b. Tears  c. Lessons  d. The Astonishing Dream e. Theater of The Absurd  f.  Twilight Zone
g. Discovery  h. The Temple  i. Victory  j. GrandOvertureUndertureEpilogueFinale     10.9/10

[hope too many secrets weren't disclosed.  No further reviews until after the official version is released.]
