I thought we had a "song wishlist" thread, but I couldn't find it ??? Anyway, I'd love to see the following bunch of songs:

Scarred
LTL
ACOS
Eve
Space-Dye Vest

That would be amazing!  :metal

I can say that Scarred, LTL and Space-Dye Vest are also on my TOP 5.

Breaking all Illusions and Trial of Tears would be cool. Music with Myung lyrics = greatness.  :corn

The Curious Orange

Ideal Setlist:

False Awakening Suite
The Enemy Inside
Pull Me Under
The Looking Glass
The Killing Hand
The Bigger Picture
Enigma Machine
Erotomania
Voices
The Silent Man
~~~~~~
Trial of Tears
Surrender to Reason
Behind the Veil
Along for the Ride
Wither
Breaking All Illusions
Illumination Theory
~~~~~~
Home
Learning to Live

Not exactly my ideal setlist, but i would leave the hall quite happy after that. Well actually i was never unhappy after any DT show  :lol

cyberdrummer

At about 21:00 in this interview, JLB reveals he'd like to play/wouldn't mind playing Trial of Tears, Scarred, possibly Take the Time, Blind Faith, and Octavarium on the upcoming tour. Fingers crossed all of those are included in the setlists!

serrano

^^this, also agree on the Blind Faith statement.

but :caffeine::caffeine: if they decided to play SFAM again back to back due to its 15 anniversary

aprilethereal

Oh I would probably die of happiness if that happened :drool:

serrano

It's a long time since i saw that in Offenbach, still alive... ...barely... ...but was really mind blowing  :biggrin:

:caffeine: apart from Blind Faith Octavarium
FTFM.

However, that would be a lot of epics and I wonder if there's room for all of them in the setlist.

TheAtliator

Oh PLEASE let those songs make it in!! ALL OF THEM!!

senecadawg2

Trial of Tears is probably the one I'd most like to get live.
Quote from: LithoJazzoSphere on November 28, 2024, 04:50:14 PMThe senecadawg who won 11 roulettes is dead and gone.  He is now diogenesdawg2.

After asking JP tonight, I'd put money on there being a few special shows next year at which they play SFAM.

Seriously???

Wow, if they happen to perform it in LA, I wouldn't be able to control myself.

cyberdrummer

Well they hadn't thought about the anniversary, but seemed very open to, even enthused by, the idea of playing the album - 'it was the most obvious thing to do'. JP said he'd love to see what MM could do with it.

Lark the Starless

That's great news. Hopefully we get a few shows with SFAM.

Did you also mention the idea of them doing something for the 20th anniversary of "Awake"?

cyberdrummer

No, I didn't get a chance. I think that's less likely to be honest, considering they'd have to do full band SDV.

wasteland

So, that's interesting news. Let's see if something actually follows :tup

TheAtliator

Awake would be INCREDIBLE. Like as in probably the most incredible thing I could ever see at a concert.

cyberdrummer

If they do play SFAM, I'm taking credit for planting the seed. :lol

JayOctavarium

Set 1

Scenes From A Memory

Set 2

Dream Theater

Encore

Pull Me Under

TheAtliator

:jawdrop:

but Awake would be SO much more incredible. Plus they've already done Scenes live quite a few times before.

It's possible they might do it, but don't bank on it, especially since their focus is gonna be on the new album. Back in Dec of 2011, I mentioned the idea of doing a second Instrumedley to him and he seemed pretty into the idea. Needless to say, it never happened. So it's quite possible that while he was showing interest in your idea, that may be as far as it goes.
Quote from: BlobVanDam on November 13, 2015, 07:37:14 PMAs a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.
Quote from: TAC on July 10, 2024, 08:26:41 AMPOW is awesome! :P

TheAtliator

Was that in 2011 when that came up? Well this tour is evening with so I think it would work much better now.

But in my opinion the only good types of medleys are the ones that just use snippets of a whole load of songs, but they fit together like one. And all the other songs during the night have to be entirely unedited like everything was on the Dramatic Tour. I CAN'T STAND those types of medleys like Queen did when you hear 75% of like 4 songs with awkward transitions. So Instrumedley is really the only good DT medley.

Set 2

Dream Theater

Pull Me Under Octavarium

I can't even think how happy I'd be if that happened.

JayOctavarium

serrano

Since this tour i will be only attending 1 concert, the probability to see SFAM will be very low.

Thinking of it, if they really pull SFAM, would it not be the perfect trigger to relaunch ytsejamrecords?

serrano

Unsure, i'd had to listen to DT12 before agreeing to that.

Set 1: :caffeine:
Set 2:  Probably great
Encore: Great (but you could replace it with ACOS or LTL and still :caffeine:)

I could live with that  :metal

You would have to buy a huge memory card to tape it all! Such a show could never go unrecorded!  :yarr

TheAtliator

It's just about exactly 3 hours right? They totally should do this with SFAM and Awake. Of course it'd probably disappoint a few people who wanted a night of everything  :lol but maybe they could advertise a few nights this way so it's no surprise!
