I guess it's kind of like Grunge. I mean, grunge itself isn't around, but it did evolve over the years becoming "alternative rock".

Not that I was a big fan of Grunge or Nu Metal, but I find it kind of sad when certain music genres just cease to exist.

I guess in that respect, I'm glad DT never went mainstream for a long time, because it seems like whatever genre or music becomes really popular, eventually fades away. It happened with Disco, New Wave, etc. But then genres that just glide under the mainstream, like Prog Metal, even Thrash and stuff like that, retains the elements that people liked about it in the first place and lives on through generations.
