There's a theater 26 miles from me. Money's tight this month. I probably wont get to see Kamelot and Delain, so this is a no go as well. LAME. Kind of expensive anyway.

It's 12 bucks a seat here (18 if you want VIP)....

Just cut out 3 starbucks lattes and you're ahead.

BFRedrocks

$18.50 in Scottsdale for the "cheap" seats.   :o

Probably still go though.   ;D

18.50 for non members. The $12.00 price is crossed out.  If I could somehow make it to Kamelot, I'd rather see them and Delain, since this is the first time in forever that Kamelot is bringing non shitty opening bands with them. I can wait for the DVD.

As for Kamelot.. they're skipping Austin and I don't feel like going to San Antonio mid week and then driving home and having a shitty next day with little sleep. I saw them not long ago with Nightwish (with Floor Jansen singing).. so I'd be ok missing it anyway.

Last time I saw Kamelot was in 2007. I missed the Nightwish duo last time they were here which sucks because Floor is amazing. Do you work for Dream Theater or what?

Do I work for DT? I wish! Just trying to help another fan save some bucks (even though you have to spend the bucks to save the bucks.. lol logic)

Well, those are all of the iPic theaters, but if you are referring to possibly more theaters picking up on this, I hope so.

I'd love for a local one to pick it up.

You know what? I'm gonna write a mail to local cinemas and ask/advise them to play the concert.  :metal

Might be an idea!

Sure. If they reject my idea based on "lack of general interest", I'll create an internet petition and ask all my prog metal loving friends from metropolitan Zagreb area to sign it. If I collect 100 signatures, it'd be enough for a little hall, at least.

Hmmmm...  I might have to check it out, but driving to Pasadena from Orange County...not digging that idea through lots of LA traffic... :lol

I'll be coming from Ventura. Which's worse? :lol

It's all California. There's no better in any of it.
:rollin

JayOctavarium

Ventura to Pasadena isn't too bad... I'll just have to leave when there is no traffic... like... 2am the night before.

Is this only happening in the US? I'd love for there to be a London screening!

iPic theaters? What? Meh. Sometimes living in a state of less than a million people sucks. I hope they have showings in normal theaters too, though I certainly won't be holding my breath.

Shadow2222

I'm scouring the internet for info, and a lot of smaller theaters will be showing this. Regent Theater in Arlington, MA (https://regenttheatre.com/details/dream_theater_live_at_luna_park) and a couple others. If I find more, I'll post links.

Also, Wildey Theater in Edwardsville, Illinois (the link is not working right now, but it is listed as an event on their Facebook).

Mebert78

Nothing in DT's home state of New York, which is also the biggest city in the country?  Maybe it's too early.  There's gotta be a NY screening.

https://www.specticast.com/event_generic.jsp?xml=/xml/event/dream_theater.xml - is the company that runs these.

I'll keep my eye out for local showtimes (I work for a company that has ALL movie and event showtimes for every movie theater in the world essentially). I also have some friends high up at national theater chains, wonder if I can ask them to consider playing this in NY (near me). Time to send some emails :D

Hi man, how've you been doing? It's been a long time!

Could you look around and see if there's an Italian perfomance jumping to the eye?

I live in bolingbrook so this theater is like 10 minutes away!

HELL YEA!  :hefdaddy ;D :corn :hat

Should i drive 1:30 to boca for this?? I still don't know.

I'll keep looking at the local theaters in this area (Oklahoma City) to see if one of them picks it up.  Several do concerts and other specialty shows.  The TX theaters are a bit far and while I might convince my wife to let me go to a local showing a road trip would be right out.

Anyone know where Boca is in relation to Orlando?

Boca is right on the Broward/Palm Beach border.  I would say close to 3 hours unless you drive really fast.

TheAtliator

I'm also in the California boat. Two near me- awesome!!!! Hell yea!

TheAtliator

It says duration 160 minutes and it includes all tracks from ADTOE. So that's 2hr 40min, but I thought each show was about 2:30-2:40 on its own, so with the one night plus 6 songs, wouldn't it be more like a little over three hours? Or am I mistaken about the length of each night?

Shadow2222

For a theater, I guarantee they will only be playing the first night.

Not sure if the one on Wilshire will be open by then...

But "main show with all of tracks from their A Dramatic Turn Of Events album included" is not covered by just the first night. They did BMUBMD and FFH only on the second night.

Mosh

Wait, are they including both nights on the DVD? I figured they'd just present it as one concert, choosing the best cuts of songs that were duplicated.

I tried registering for a membership but the approval email still hasn't gone through, several hours later.

Tried registering again and it told me that email address was already in use.

How long did it take people to get the email? (Yes, I checked my spam folder)

I'm surprised there's one in Austin, but not Houston. You'd think it'd be in all the most populated places of the U.S.

It's not remotely surprising. Houston already has several dine-in movie theaters (Studio Movie Grill, Alamo Drafthouse, and Movie Tavern locations) and then add that there's already tons of traditional theaters throughout the city to compete with (not to mention several that could be considered large-to-gigantic in terms of screens). Opening up in Houston would hardly be a guaranteed win.

And ironically, I worked at the location in Redmond before when it was a Cineplex Odeon and I'll be seeing it there as I live down the road from it now...

Although, I'll ask at the theater I work at part-time if they could prod corporate into doing screenings...
