So I'm thinking of doing a cover of SDV, I have pretty much everything covered apart from the movie/tv samples. Could anyone give me a list of where they're from, 'cause I really want to make it complete.

TheGreatPretender

I'd love to hear the version without the samples.

If I ever get my cover complete I'd be sure to post it with and without samples to give you an idea of what it would sound like without them :)

Heh, weird to see Bellatrix Lestrange and Professor McGonagall young in a different movie.

Slightly unrelated....

was listening to SDV in the car earlier with my little cousin. I stopped at a gas station to get air (and a few minutes later stopped at my mail box to get the mail) and had the song playing the whole time... She was amazed at the fact that I could recite the samples.

Here's Trouble With Evan -documentary in it's whole. It was used in SDV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2EU_2wK5LE

Done the reciting of samples many times, it's amazing that people think it's hard for us who have heard the song so many times.

?

You know you're a true DT fan when you both sing along to the lyrics and recite the samples in their songs! :lol

TheGreatPretender

I listened to the song dozens of times, but I tune the samples out every time, and do my best to focus on the piano.

Yep.  They're just part of the lyrics to me.

Wow, thanks for posting that link!  Never seen it!

EDIT: Geez, what a depressing documentary.  Those parents are rough, man.  I'm only halfway through the video.

SDV Samples?

I didn't know there were any samples in Strange Deja-Vu :neverusethis:

Although to be fair, they did sample a part of Metropolis Pt. 1 at the very beginning.

My friend watched it a while ago and said it bummed him up quite a bit, so I'm afraid to watch it. Not that I have an interest in seeing it, though.  ;D However, I'd be super happy if anyone grabbed a hold of that Conan O'Brien episode from which some of the samples are from.

I believe you're thinking of Overture 1928. :P

Yes, I am. Darn it, I always consider those two part of the same entity. All right, fine, there are absolutely no samples in SDV.

SystematicThought

Man, I watched a little bit of "The Trouble With Evan". Man, what a depressing documentary. Although, the music does fit it perfectly

CrimsonSunrise

How the hell did anyone ever figure out the sample @ 0:26 of that vid   :lol  I'm assuming someone had first hand knowledge divulged to them.

seasonsinthesky

i'm sure you could pull them directly out of Jammit (or at least find out the exact wording). they included the samples from "Voices" (save one, i think) in the vocal track, so i don't see why SDV wouldn't have them.
