FUCK YES.

Wait, $75 for shipping outside the US  :o

Pre-ordered anyway, that swirl looks funky indeed.

The $75 shipping for international was an error and has been changed by Brookvale records to $45 or something which is the exact cost from the usps with tracking.

Very sorry about that and if you already ordered then please email me in regards to a partial shipping refund

Thanks for mentioning this, I've just sent you an email :)

dream416

Ordered this as well :tup.....shipping was $16.99 to Canada. The color looks awesome!!!

Shadow2222

Awesome! I instantly preordered the swirl one once I saw this topic.

If you can say, are there any other DT albums in the works for a vinyl release? I'd love to have a full collection someday!

olliemedsy

hang on, is it random if you get the red and gold swirl one? or is it the first 500

olliemedsy

oh never mind. i didnt read that the black ones will be available in shops :P

That's good news. But you really ought to be automatically refunding those of us who've already overpaid.

Assuming this one sells fairly quickly then we should be repressing the rest of their catalog in a deluxe re-issue format over the course of the next couple years

Also for those interested, we will have a few test presses available which are limited to 24 total copies and come with screen printed alt artwork jackets. I will post a pic below of the "scenes from a memory" test press which was only 5 made(portnoy has one, the band management has one, I have one, one went to brookvale and one more is for sale).  The images and words test press will be out of 24 total copies and we should have jackets for those in the next month or two, once the release starts to ship. For those who are interested in those please email or pm me, i am taking offers and trades for other records.

All orders placed through brookvale site is for the colored variant which are limited to 500 copies and then the other 1500 available via USA indie retail stores and likely amazon will be on black vinyl.

The colored variant is exclusively available via brookvale records webstore

Do you deal with analogic media only? There is no way for an HQ digital release to stem out of this? Thanks :)

We have put out a few of our own releases which are both available digital, cd and vinyl but for the past couple years we have been a vinyl re-issue label specifically and no there will not be any download included with the re-issues unfortunately

Wow, I was not aware of this! The wonders of analogic recordings! So there is no actual "empty space" left in a vinyl, whatever the lenght of it's content may be?

Most lp's have a few extra minutes per side because until it reaches the 22-23 minute mark but for the most part. Sound is always better with less time per side and proper mastering for the vinyl format
thats what I want to know. Are these remastered for vinyl, or just collector items?

They were remastered for vinyl, just like the "scenes from a memory" re-issue was which sounded fantastic and overall got rave reviews in the vinyl community

I know he is from the company, so it may sound like he is just trying to sell his product, but I wholeheartedly agree with him. The Metropolis Pt. 2 vinyl is the best way I've heard that album yet. It sounds great.

Will the Red/Gold swirl version be available for purchase at Looney Tunes?  Or is it online ordering only?

Is this 33 or 45?

This is so tempting, even with the shipping included..
Id say go for it dude. If you dont get it now, you'll most likely regret it later on. And not to mention, the value will go way up after you buy it now, so...

Not sure, Based on how quick these are already selling i doubt there will be any left. I know the black variant will be available at looney tunes though.

It is at 33 rpm, the album was too long to fit on 45rpm without going over onto 3 lp's which would have risen the overall price a decent amount plus it sounded great already anyway.

I've been hoping for I&W on colored vinyl ever since the tracks on GHit were remastered.  Took a long time but my dream has come true!!!  I can't believe it.   :eek

Just a heads up to those who interested, 252 of these as of now are already sold of the 500 colored vinyl copies so if your interested In the colored version I would grab one before they are gone.

For those who asked- The black should be available on amazon(not confirmed yet) and will 100% be in Indie retail stores in the USA in mid February but BROOKVALE RECORDS IS THE ONY PLACE TO GET THE RAREST VARIANT WHICH IS ONLY OUT OF 500 TOTAL COPIES

EnjoyTheRide: when you guys get to Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence, will it be a Triple Vinyl LP? I'd imagine the best way to do SDOIT would be this:
Side 1 - 13:52
1.   "The Glass Prison"

Side 2 - 19:53
2.   "Blind Faith" 10:21
3.   "Misunderstood" 9:32

Side 3 - 13:45
4.   "The Great Debate" 13:45

Side 4 - 6:45
5.   "Disappear" 6:45

Side 5 - 19:52
I. "Overture" 6:50
II. "About to Crash" 5:51
III. "War Inside My Head" 2:08
IV. "The Test That Stumped Them All" 5:03

Side 6 - 22:10
V. "Goodnight Kiss" 6:17
VI. "Solitary Shell" 5:48
VII. "About to Crash (Reprise)" 4:05
VIII. "Losing Time" / "Grand Finale" 6:00

Doing it this way also adds the added nugget of their SIXTH album being on SIX sides of vinyl, as well as being SIX songs. :tup

Dammit... I caved.  I already have like 3 or 4 copies of Images & Words on vinyl, but hey... what's one more, right?

Yes, it will be a 3xlp and most likely we plan to press the rest of them in order. Or would people prefer certain releases before others for any specific reason?

Awesome! The rest in order would make sense, but I'd REALLY rather see Awake last since it was already released on vinyl, so titles like SDOIT, TOT and 8VM might be cooler to see on vinyl!

As for Train of Thought and Octavarium, I would expect the double vinyl to look like this:
Side 1 - 19:15
1.   "As I Am" 7:47
2.   "This Dying Soul" 11:28
Side 2 - 21:37
3.   "Endless Sacrifice" 11:23
4.   "Honor Thy Father" 10:14
Side 3 - 14:13
5.   "Vacant"    2:57
6.   "Stream of Consciousness" 11:16
Side 4 - 14:14
7.   "In the Name of God" 14:14

Side 1 - 13:59
1.   "The Root of All Evil" 8:26
2.   "The Answer Lies Within" 5:33
Side 2 - 20:18
3.   "These Walls" 7:36
4.   "I Walk Beside You" 4:29
5.   "Panic Attack" 8:13
Side 3 - 17:30
6.   "Never Enough" 6:47
7.   "Sacrificed Sons" 10:43
Side 4 - 24:00
8.   "Octavarium" 24:00

And I could just imagine the full wrap-around cover for 8VM looking DAMN fine on a gatefold jacket!

-Marc.

Perpetual Change

I think it goes without saying that the top priority goes to Images, Awake, Scenes, and Six Degrees, two of which you guys already have covered. From there, I'd say Falling Into Infinity comes next, and then the others. Black Clouds, Systematic Chaos, and ADTOE are obviously the lowest priority, since they were released on that format too.

Obviously, some of us are very biased towards various albums, but I think it goes without saying that Dream Theater fans would love them to be released no matter what the order is.

I think chronologically is the best plan, as there will only be FII in between Awake and SDOIT anyways.

Definitely do the limited edition color vinyl again, as collectors love that (myself included).

Is there a time frame for these? Two a year, one a year, etc.?
