Nice, finally some new songs!

Does anyone have some pictures of the merchandise? Are there "Progressive Nation"-Shirts and if yes > how expensive? ;-)

I'd really like that setlist in London, but they played The Mirror, Lie and ITNOG in 2005, so I'm not sure we'll get them.

We can but hope!
Seriously, that's one of the best Dream Theater setlists I've ever seen

On the other hand the Opeth set could be better

Almost a flawless set list. Throw out TDOE and OLT, replace it with, say, Fatal Tragedy, and it would be absolutely perfect

Throw out Forsaken and Sacrificed songs, replace it with Ministry of lost souls and Panic attack, and it would be perfect.  :tup

not my first choice of setlist last night. very pleased to see Wither introduced, but the mirror, lie, sacrificed sons are all skip-over tracks for me. id be a tad disappointed if it stayed like that by the time Manchester comes around.

Nick

Nice to see The Mirror and Lie being brought out, but I'd much rather see Lifting Shadows come back.

SeRoX

The people who complain about Lie and The Mirror should be happy because finally we see old DT style with full power of James's voice. LSOAD, Scarred, many from Awake also welcome.  :hat

So does this add more fuel to the fire of thought that the mirror would be played with the 12 step suite since they are playing it now?

In Helsinki the Progressive Nation T-shirt cost 30 euros

FUCKING AMAZING SETLIST. Wow. The Mirror?! Can anyone say 12 Step Suite sometime soon? ;) I can't wait to see them play Wither. I so wanna sing along to that chorus.

Aw I was hoping James would let the crowd sing during the soft chorus. But whatever, it's still gonna be an amazing live song.

Wow. Just perfect.

Wow! :omg:

Thank you for posting. Damn, they sound awesome.

EDIT: Video is over. The band is really on fire. JLB sounds bad ass, especially on Lie. I love JR's continuum and keytar work, as well. :metal

I was actually hoping the crowd would have let James sing the song. I could barely hear him in that video. The only thing I don't like about seeing them live is when you sit next to people who sing along. I'd much rather hear James. The video did look great, though. Just wish I could have heard his voice better.

Oh god, not another DT fan who doesn't like loud crowds... Like I've said before, nothing pisses me off more than a crowd that just stands there and watches. If you're gonna do that, you might as well just get a concert DVD and watch at your house. The whole point of a live show is to get into the music, not to gripe about how the people around you won't shut up.

Ask any rockstar out there and they'll tell you that they hate nothing more than when a crowd is dormant. When the crowd is like that, the band has to energy to feed off of, you know what I mean?

Disappear

Singing along to non-singalong songs is dumb. Wither is a great singalong. Actually, this looks like the best setlist of the PN09 tour.

2Timer

I haven't missed a DT tour since '97, and when I'm there, especially when we're lucky enough to get seats close to the stage, I'm anything but dormant. I do sing along sometimes myself, but to myself. I don't try to kid myself into hearing that the band can actually hear my voice over what they have in their monitors (especially now that they're always right in their ears).
And I don't hate the crowds, especially at DT shows, because it's like you have this deep connection with everyone you talk to. I love the crowds, I can just do without people singing the songs at the tops of their lungs. It's their right to do so and I understand that, I just don't like it.

PlaysLikeMyung

The Mirror/Lie?

Yes plz

And does that mean I can hope for 6:00 for the US headlining tour? God I hope so...

Any gems so far from the Mikael Akerfeldt stand-up routine?

In Oslo he said:
"Hi, we're from Sweden" (expecting boos :P )
*Chrowd cheers* Åkerfeldt looks really suprised.
"From the Scandinavian capital....Stockholm!"
*Crowd goes booooo* Åkerfeldt is happy  :lol

KevShmev

The crowd singing along like that is awesome.  I've always been disappointed that DT crowds don't do the "take the time" harmony in that song (if they did it, no one in the band would even have to sing it, as it would be a perennial crowd sing-along song).  Stuff like is what makes concerts great.

All of this.

And Akerfeldt can do a stand up act when he's done with metal. I swear to god, I can go to Opeth shows just to hear his banter the dude's so damn funny.

perfey

The setlist we got in Stockholm was indeed amazing, was cool to have been the first audience to see Wither too. Opeth was good and Mikaels anectdotes and jokes were funny.
