Nice to see them still throwing in new songs. I'd love to see Wither make an appearance soon. Maybe they'll save that for the next leg. They need something new for next time they come around I suppose.

Elsydeon

Did you make the videos for the new songs blob? They looked really nice

BlobVanDam

I made the 3D videos. I don't do every minute of video for every song though of course. Usually just a minute or so for each new song (although TCOT happens to have three)

Good to see Beyond This Life back, even if it's just for a few shows. Love that song.

perfey

Great set list, its good that MP throw in a new song here and there. Very varied set lists, I like them, more then the PN08 set lists actually.

Sintheros

I was at the CT show last night, my first DT show. (Wheeee!). I was not expecting Beyond this Life or Forsaken, but both turned out great. The highlight might actually have been Sacrificed Sons, everyone sang the last chorus and the verses after it. A whole lot of fun. Shame they didn't do Voices or In the Name of God, but it was a blast none the less. Good times!

I'd love to see Wither as well, but in JP's recent interview, he said they are doing 3 songs from the new album on this leg, and they are already doing those three.  So, we'll see.

The worst thing about seeing all these setlists/dates from CT is the fact I used to live there.  When my Mom saw my BC&SL shirt, she noticed that I could have WALKED to the Oakdale from our house back then.  :(  I could have seen them, like, every year.

Same here.  I think the set lists are more diverse in terms on song choices.  I also like how every once and awhile they throw a new song in there.  Im expecting a similar show to most tomorrow night in NJ, but I hope for a new song in NYC on Sunday.

Me too! This show really crept up on me. I can't believe how close it is!

perfectchaos180

god I hope they don't play wither

but yeah I am guessing there will be at least one repeat on their BCSL tour because Mike might not be ready to play Best of Times yet, so all thats left is TSF and *shudder* Wither.

Here's hoping for 12 Steps in DC next tour!

why dont people get that they wont play the 12 steps, it lasts over an hour and that would leave time for like 1 or 2 songs to finish the set, if you are gonna hope, hope for something that is logical

What fun is that? :neverusethis:

Okay fine. I hope for mundane setlists consisting of overplayed DT songs that MP thinks the fans like. Did I do it right?

i think people are implying that, as has been in the past, after PN09 is over, the band will set out on its own headlining tour, generally with one opening act.  their sets tend to be closer to two and  half, sometimes three, hours.  it's likely that during said tour, at least on some dates, crowds will see the entirety of the 12-step suite.  i'm certainly hoping to get it in dc, i'd love to hear the glass prison in person.

oh, and for the record, while i'd much rather get TCOT again, i wouldn't be sad to hear wither played live.  it's like the littlest child of the family that is BC&SL.  it's not epic, it's only 5 minutes long, so in the company of the other epics that populate the album, it gets looked at as the weakest track on the album.

It should be noted that Mike Portnoy said it would be 1 OR 2 opening acts, and that because it is not evening with a 2 hour average set time would be much more likely than 2 and a half.

They won't play it on the Prog Nation tour, no.  But they will most likely play it at some point on their headlining tour, which is what perfectchaos180 was referring to.

The NY shows is the 8th and 9th August.

I noticed that they currently have played 24 different songs + a medley. Add the three remaining BC&SL songs and we are up to 27 different songs, add the four other AA songs beside the Shattered Fortress to that and we are up to 31 songs. I dont think they will play whole Awake (except SDV) but I will be pleasantly surprised if they do that, no more medley I think too. I think they'll have played between 31-40 songs when the tour is over.

I doubt they'll play Wither and Best of Times, but they will play Shattered Frwhen they play the 12-step suite of course.

Also, why do so many people doubt that they won't play the 12-step suite on this tour?  It's the perfect opportunity.  They'll have the six songs, then they'll have an encore like Count of Tuscany, and that's about 1:30 right there.  Maybe they'll even open with Nightmare.  I don't think we can rule out the possibility of them playing the suite on PN09.

Jamesman42

\o\ lol /o/

Nick

I think we can. There is no reason for them to play it during a 90 minute set when they know they'll be back with a 2+ hour set.

Now I can't wait for spring, not for the aa suite but for the 2+ hour set

cramx3

Yea, I certainly don't expect the 12 step suite this tour and MP confirmed it won't be played on Sunday, but that doesn't mean TSF won't be played alone.  I am starting to expect more of a collaboration with the other bands on PN09 than a new DT song introduced to the set list.  Both would be great though.

SystematicThought

How long were the Chaos in Motion shows last year. Not PN08, but CiM. Were they longer than 2 hours.
