Very excited. I would love to see some surprises such as maybe Misunderstood which has yet to be on a live recording.

I know many of us don't consider Chaos In Motion a proper DT live recording (I certainly don't), but wasn't the song included there?

Nope.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaos_in_Motion_2007%E2%80%932008#Track_listing  You're probably thinking of Blind Faith.

My bad. Well, the song isn't a favourite of mine, I would gladly wait a few other year before it gets live coverage.

What month do you guys picture the DVD releasing in (perhaps going off of previous DVD releases)?

Christmas at the earliest. Otherwise, January. This assuming things won't go wrong as they did with LSFNY,
Score was 5 months from filming to release.

I would think they'd want this out for Christmas though.

I would think so too, but remember how long it took this same production company to complete the drummer doc.

Didn't it take so long because of legal issues? I honestly don't remember xD.

Initially, I think that just created somewhat of a log jam for anything to get done.  But then once the video came out, John said that the delay with the video was mainly because of the production company and the idea of making it into a bigger and more formal production than they had originally envisioned.

I had a dream about one of these shows last night  :lol :blush

People at the show were posting updates on the setlist in this thread as well as somehow posting Youtube vids of some of the songs as they were happening  ;D

Moon Bubbles, To Live Forever and In the Name of God were all played. Then for some reason towards the end of ITNOG the football (soccer) player Robin van Persie climbed onto the stage from the crowd and started singing along with James to the "whoaah ohhh ohhhh. whoaaah ohh ohhhh. whooahhh ohh ohh ohhhhhhhhh ohhhhhhhh" part  :rollin

:blush
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

Well, they did a hell of a job with that. The work putting together the soundtrack was incredible. They put the DT songbook to perfect use.

Oh, absolutely.  And my post wasn't meant to be a criticism, but just to point out that we may have to wait a bit longer than people might like.   But the flipside of that is that even if we have to wait awhile, the wait should be well worth it if the TSCO documentary is any indication.

I had a dream that I was there. The opening act was a drum clinic run by MM himself.  :lol

That seems to suggest that they got started on the drummer documentary aspect later that expected (most likely after MM was already picked to replace Portnoy). Since they know they are filming and editing a concert DVD, it shouldn't take as long because they know what they are doing right out of the gate. Also, there will be no need to put together a soundtrack or anything like that (unless it happens to be a part of any special features). This DVD should be rather straight forward compared to the drummer documentary.

Only 2 days until this bad ass show is filmed. I wonder how many people are coming from outside of South America to be a part of the DVD.

Yes, I am really raising my hand.  But, no, I'm not going to the show.  I just needed a good stretch.

Seems legit. Stretching one's arm can prevent a lot of deadly diseases, like tingling.

I love the start of Score with the Newton Cradle during the intro of TROAE. But you know whats better? The animatiin of the band getting to the stage followed by the Bridges intro. I hope to God that they include the whole thing.

Also glad to see CIAW make its epic comeback!

I agree 100% with this post. They need to do that.

???  Why wouldn't they?  They've done it every single show this tour since last September.

I hope that they get the rights to include "Dream is Collapsing" on the DVD. Best intro ever.

Do you guys actually think it's feasible we'd see SDV? Let's not get any "I like the song"/"I dislike the song" comments this time, it could just be awesome from the standpoint of them starting a new phase in their career (well, that's been going on for quite a while now, but now it's being recorded) - one of the constants of DT was that they'd never play that song, so this phoenix rising from the ashes (because a lot of people were predicting they're screwed without MP) might throw that out of the window. Not to mention that's an awesome musical middle finger.

They just might have those rights, they did include Also Sprach Zarathrustra as an intro on CiM right?

Perfectly feasible! Mike Portnoy was much more caught up in the mythology of it all than the other guys. Of the current lineup - James and Jordan have already played it together, Mike Mangini's the new guy and he won't have any objections if the other four are cool with it, John Myung... I can't imagine being particularly against it, so I imagine that John Petrucci would have the deciding vote. Setlists are a lot more collaborative than they used to be. If they wanted to play Space Dye Vest, they'd play Space Dye Vest.

Doesn't mean I think it's likely, per se, but definitely plausible. If they wanted to make the night especially special, I don't think they see any taboo in the same way Mike Portnoy did. I don't think they'd ever start putting it in regular rotation, but no worries bringing it out for a special occasion. Don't know if this is necessarily that occasion, though.
