I don't want to appear insensitive, but did you that in the last few years DT has often crossed path with earthquakes? I have always found this coincidence quite creepy.  :-\

When I see this thread that quote came to my mind quickly and I'm scared.  :lol

It's Japan at all, the shaking country. I find it so normal.

Petrucci is lifting weights again

Well, obviously if they are playing in cities in subduction zones and fault lines, then yeah.  I'm sure Japan is still getting aftershocks for a year ago.  I've lived in California and Alaska and have experienced earthquakes in both states.  They are quite common.

Shadow2222

JP hit his effects pedal too hard.

JP must have accidently rolled out of bed. tee hee!!

Some of the most notable Earthquakes to follow them:

Mexico City last year in December.
Indonesia last week.
Tokyo this morning.

They're getting closer and closer together. So where does DT play in a few days?

Rainee100

Don't forget they were in Osaka for the big Kobe earthquake and in Chile last year. I think John's playing too fast and shifting the Earth's plates. I'm like...slow down dude...

I bet it's Myung's fault.  He's the Illuminati Grand Master who handles Dream Theater and he pulls secret operations everywhere the band tours.   :)

For fun...

Yeah, I think I'm gonna stay out of this thread.

If Singapore has a natural disaster when DT is there........

JP played Lines in the Sand solo.

This thread isn't cool. One of my best friends was killed by an earth quake recently.

I'm very sorry for you.  :'(

I thought twice before I posted, but I saw that this earthquake was only 5,4 Richter, which maybe makes things fall out from shelves and does only minor damage, I thought that it is OK.

I apologize if you find my post offensive.

Thank you.  And no offense taken in the slightest now. I think just the nature of the subject matter at that time made me a bit sensitive. You've done nothing wrong! It's all about context and I know no one here meant anything negative and I realize that. No harm done my friend.

Not to offend anyone, nor is this directed at anyone specific, but people die every day from all kinds of things. So what, we can't joke about earthquakes, volcano eruptions, hurricanes, and plate tectonics mixed in with the activities of DT's tour schedule? Like the OP said, it was only a 5.4, which is kind of normal from what I know about earthquakes. Humans need to joke about stuff once in a while, otherwise people get easily sensitive and uptight. There's a fine line between joking about JP causing a somewhat-mild earthquake because he went for a jog, and joking about a really bad disaster that caused thousands of deaths, whether or not Dream Theater were around to experience themselves.

Again, no offense is intended.

Sorry to hear about your friend.  I have a friend over there so I'm really appreciating what you posted.  Regardless though, I'm glad you spoke up.  Thanks.  Now I'm going to email my friend.   :)
