I heard it's a relatively new venue. The last time DT played in Cleveland, the Jacobs Pavilion wasn't around, so they played in Tower City. Now that Tower City is shut down, they're playing Jacobs.
Tower City shut down? I thought Jacobs Pavilion was just the new name for the old Nautica Pavilion nee Plain Dealer Pavilion?

"The approximately 5,000-seat venue, opened in 2001, closed in March 2011 as part of a casino construction project.  The structure's future has not been determined.  As of July 2011, the structure was being used for covered parking."

From wikipedia

gilpdawg

Well I'll be damned. I haven't been to that part of Cleveland lately. Jacobs is the old Nautica Pavilion though. Maiden played there on Bruce's first tour after he rejoined.

Shadow2222

It's today :caffeine:

I work until 2:30, but then me and my friend are booking it to Cleveland to get there extra early. Hopefully I'll see you guys there!

Ultimetalhead

I'm not sure when I'll be getting there. Probably around 6:30 or 7.

GalacticGuitarist87

Hell yeah! Cleveland show tonite! Hopefully it doesn't rain so far 30% chance, but should be fine :tup! Detroit tomorrow too woot! :metal

I'm probably going to be leaving here around 2 to get to Cleveland around 4. My Dad and I are both so excited that it's killing us to sit around waiting.  :lol

Shadow2222

I know the feeling! Even if I didn't have the meet and greet at 5, I probably would have still left early. I've been trying to figure out what to say to them, and this is what I think I've decided on:

NOTE: The shirt I refer to with JP is the one I won in the setlist guessing contest last year on here.

JP: Hi John! I discovered you guys through Rock Band 2 and never looked back. I won this shirt in a setlist guessing contest on DreamTheaterForums.org last year, and apparently you gave it to the administrator, so if it would be okay, I'd really like to have you sign it.

If I have time I will also say: Any cool plans for the upcoming DVD, like a Bluray or 3D version? And you guys have to do a commentary, we love those!

JM: It's an honor to meet you John. You played some truly amazing parts on the last album, and I just wanted to thank you for the inspiring lyrics you have written throughout the years.

JR: Hey Jordan! All of the experimentation you've done with the iPad and other instruments is awesome! I really enjoyed your Stageit.com concert and hope you do more of them.

MM: Nice to meet you Mike. I think you are a perfect fit for DT, and you blew my mind last year live in Pittsburgh. I cannot wait to see you killing it out there tonight!

JLB: Hi James! You are an absolute inspiration to me, having chose singing as my particular instrument. I've never sang rock or metal, but I did a couple of plays in high school, playing Riff in West Side Story and Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof. I know you are interested in Broadway as well, and I hope you get the chance to do it someday. BTW, the forklift videos were hilarious!

Hopefully not too longwinded, and I feel somewhat stupid for having it planned out, but I don't want to waste time and/or get flustered.

Ultimetalhead

When I met MM after the show last time, I asked him how it felt to be YouTube famous. He lol'd.

:lol  That'll be awesome!  Let me know how it goes.  (and if he mentions the fact that I still owe him a shirt, just, uh...avoid eye contact and deny any knowledge of anything)

Shadow2222

I'll be sure to report back with the details  :lol

Ultimetalhead

I was trying to think of a place that there wouldn't be a ton of people.  As long as there isn't someone who's checking tickets to keep people from going all the way down there, we should be alright. I'll probably be hanging out there as soon as the gates open (6:30 I believe).

Shadow2222

That might work, considering my seat will be in the first five rows, and you are in the first row. Not sure about everyone else, but that should be cool.

Ultimetalhead

Someone could always print out a sign that says "DTF MEETUP HERE LOL" but that might draw some strange glances.

Shadow2222

Haha I bet it would. We don't want security asking us what we are doing  :police:

I'm pretty sure it would attract a bit more than just strange glances.

that's awesome, pockets.  Thanks!

gilpdawg added dinosaur.  could that maybe be the first one?
Possibly. There was a decently long drum duet in the beginning as well.

Is anyone able to confirm that I don't need to bring anything but my ID to the show?  I don't need to print out a ticket or anything since I purchased the Meet and Greet, correct?

Shadow2222

Just your ID I think, but I also printed out my initial email after I ordered it, cause it said, "Please print our your e-receipt to bring to the show."

The "Your Order With VIP Nation" email?  Would this be considered the "email confirmation receipt?"

Yep that's the one, I believe.

Excellent, thank you!  The way they worded it had me a bit confused lol  :\

Ultimetalhead

Damn. I've been having a really bad pre-concert day so far. I went to a gas station, and the fucking button to select the fuel type flat-out wouldn't work. So, I had to go to a different one. It was windy as hell, and my hair wouldn't get out of my damn face so I could see what I was doing. Then, I went home and found out that my earplugs have apparently been erased from existence.

This show had better brighten my day up.  :lol

So, guys! Tonight is the night! If you're ever going to see Learning To Live before the next album comes out it will be tonight ;)

Because if they swap setlists the encore oughts to be Learning To Live   :-X

Shadow2222

It better be LtL! Haha. Actually, they could play You Not Me 10 times in a row and I would still have a blast (well, maybe not...).

I hope so. I want to see a switched up set tonight!

Shadow2222

As long as I don't see PMU for the 3rd time  :lol

It has closed the two shows I've seen previously, so that would be a major disappointment.

Shadow2222

Well, I'm leaving work and should be on the road to Cleveland by 2:30. Hopefully I'll see Ultimetalhead and anyone else at the show, and might run into envex at the meet and greet!

That's something I've been meaning to ask. Earplugs. Do mose people use them? Is that something I should look into?

I want pics of the shirt.
The Meet and Greet shirt? It isn't anything to rave about.  :-\

I always bring them.  Occasionally, I won't use them.  But most venues nowadays (especially indoor venues) are so loud that I feel the need to protect my ears.

No.  The shirt JP gave me that I gave to Shadow.

Shadow2222

Honestly, I would recommend taking them. Even though it sort of "mutes" the audio slightly, you can actually hear everyone much better. Plus, the benefit of having your ears not destroyed is nice too haha.

A lot of people buy expensive earplugs for concerts, but a regular pair will do you just fine if you aren't an audiophile.

@Bosk - Don't worry, I'll definitely post a pic!

It would attract DTF members :D

Where would be a good place to pick up a couple pairs to bring with?
