Where: At the Venue
When: After the M&G and/or between the Crimson Projeckt and DT
June 21, 2012 :metal
-
I'm definitely going and I will be having a friend go as well.
-
Awesome!
-
I'll be going to this show, except for the Cincinnati show I thought I was going to.
-
I've decided I am doing the Meet and Greet. I don't want to miss this opportunity when I do have the money and regret it later in life.
-
Tickets just went up for viewing today. They will be on sale April 27. Meet and Greets are listed as "Coming Soon."
-
Tickets on sale this Friday at 10am.
Has anyone been to this venue before? According to the seating chart, they have GA behind the grandstand, and if that's true, I'm putting out for grandstand tickets rather than GA. Can anyone confirms these specifics for the show?
-
^ I wish I could fill you in, but Ive never been to this venue before.
I finally made a decision and purchased my meet and greet. This is my going to be my third Dream Theater concert, and I'm really excited to finally be doing a M&G.
-
Section 2, row R!
-
You, sir, are rather lucky.
I'll be purchasing my tickets tomorrow. :)
-
It's a pretty small venue. Ill be in heem
-
I bought my tickets last night. Sec 5 Row P for 3 seats.
-
I created an account specifically for this thread.
I've seen Dream Theater three times so far and purchased a VIP ticket each time. The June 21st show is no exception. Unfortunately, none of my buddies had the funds to drop $275 on a Meet and Greet package so I'll probably be going solo.
For those who bought the VIP package, how do you know which section/seat/etc. you're in? My receipt says the exact seat will be known when I arrive.
Hope to make some new friends and perhaps see some familiar faces.
-
No clue about the seats, but welcome to the forums, and hopefully I'll see you at the show!
-
I'm going. Pre-show meetup?
-
I'd be up for that. I'm not yet 21, so I'd preferably like a place other than a bar (or a bar that has no policy regarding minors).
I'm gonna be going up with my friend straight from work, so I'll likely be starving if you guys would want to meet at a typical food place.
I do have the M&G, so we will have to do it early enough that it won't interfere with that.
Other than that, I'm definitely in.
-
I'm under 21 as well. I know the area fairly well, but I'll do some research as to the best pre-concert meetup spots. What time is the meet and greet?
-
^ :lol If I knew I'd tell you! It said I will get the itinerary emailed to me about a week before the show. Maybe we should set it up early enough that it won't interfere, and if it ends up we have extra time, so be it. Would that be ok with you? How early did you plan on getting to Cleveland?
-
I guess it kind of depends on when my Dad and I get off work, if we work that day at all. Once we see what would work for everyone, we could figure it out from there. I'd say 4:00 PM seems reasonable.
-
As far as I know right now, 4:00 sounds perfect.
-
Honestly we should just meet at the powerhouse next door
-
Guess who got his tickets upgraded to Section 3, Row B, Seats 1+2.
This guy. :victorydance:
-
Less than a month away now :D
We still need to decide about the meetup.
-
Seems like Powerhouse is kind of far away from the venue. Worse comes to worse, I say we meet at the venue way early (I'd assume we'll be the only ones around), and go from there.
-
Fifteen days :caffeine:
-
Just upgraded my seats to the front row. Looks like I'll be right between JLB and JMX. :metal
For anyone who feels like upgrading, there are a TON of awesome seats available (including the 2 in the second row that I just gave up to get the front).
-
Haha, you might have better seats than me and I got a meet and greet (since it says "within first five rows"). Hopefully its not randomized so that I have a better chance of a decent seat.
-
I think the VIP stuff could be the reason I keep getting so lucky with upgrades. There were 6 seats wide open in the front row (4 now that I took two of them), and I think it could be because they released the seats that were a part of the VIP package, either because they aren't selling well or because the promo's over.
I hope something similar happens with the Detroit show, because I don't even have my tickets for that one yet, and the only seats left kind of suck. :( Either way, as long as I get to see them once, I don't think I'll mind (especially with how ballin' the seats are).
It's kind of weird that they don't tell you where your seats are for the VIP package. Everyone else who has bought a ticket knows exactly where they're at because of the "pick your own" functionality (which is the bomb).
-
I shot an email over to the contact email address asking if there was anyway to know the seats in advance, but I'm expecting "Unfortunately, that information is not available presently, but you will find out when you arrive at the venue."
Strange that they do it that way. I better have a front row seat if they are selling them outside of the VIP packages :lol
Can't wait though, no matter where the seat is, at least I'm guaranteed to be within the first five rows.
-
My VIP purchase was completed at 10:02am, so I better damn well get front row center. But yeah the mystery is absolutely bogus.
-
You should add RaiseTheKnife to the list of people attending, as I'm assuming he is.
Oh, and I decided the best place for a pre-show meetup would be Shooters on the Water. It's within walking distance of the venue, and it's right on the water. I'm starting to favor a 5:00 meetup time, considering I might have to work until 3 that day. :\
-
I'm looking for other Dream Theater fans to help spread the vibe and get word on the street about the band coming to Cleveland.
-
Welcome to the forum Cleveland Vibe! I take it you are going to be at the concert haha?
-
Yes, I'm also arming fans to distribute posters and flyers to spread the word as well as introduce their music to others.
-
9 days away ;D
-
I'll be there  .. with a friend who has never seen them before!
-
One week. :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine: :caffeine:

Unfortunately, I don't think a meet up will be possible for me. I just got an email with the Dream Theater meet and greet itinerary, and we have to be at the venue at 5:00.
But yeah, less than a week :metal
-
Wow. That's a bummer. Everyone else is pretty much doing the meet and greet too, right?
Well, either way, we should specify a meeting place within the venue that we could just chill for a bit between Crimson Projekct and DT. Maybe we could meet at that same spot around 6:30 as well. I wouldn't think the meet and greet would take that long.
-
4 days from today :yarr
-
My daily post....
THAT IT IS THREE DAYS AWAY WOOOO
-
Thursday is near! Too bad I won't be able to determine who's from the forums at the Meet and Greet.
-
Check the post your picture thread in General Discussion, I'll likely post a photo tomorrow.
If I don't, its pretty easy to spot me. I'll have the A Dramatic Turn of Events black shirt (with the Unicyclist on the front) on, and I have three earrings on each side. Most likely won't be too many guys with six ear piercings lol.
-
I'll likely be wearing my Dream Theater "Black Clouds and Silver Anniversary" shirt. I still think we should set up a meeting spot somewhere within the venue. Anyone who's been there have any ideas?
-
I'll probably be wearing my Pearl Drums work shirt; wish I found out about this forum a long time ago!
-
^ It's never too late :D Glad to have another member here.
If only one of us had been to the venue before that could point out a good meeting spot.
-
I should be wearing the ADTOE tour shirt from the first NA leg tour, barring if they have a different shirt tonight in Columbus, for which I will then wear in Cleveland. hahaha.
-
I'm going to be really upset if they don't rotate a few songs in the setlist for this show...
-
As I posted in the other thread, I Facebook messaged JLB to start switching up that setlist.
-
As I posted in the other thread, I Facebook messaged JLB to start switching up that setlist.
I just tweeted at JP and JR about 5 minutes ago about switching up the set!
-
I would seriously be 100% ok with that setlist, but I would really like Outcry instead of BAI, since Pittsburgh last year was one Of the only shows not to have both (the Great Debate was still in the set), and we got BAI.
Also, it's tomorrow!!!!!
-
I am totes okay with the setlist as it is now, but I'd love to have it switched up a bit for the Detroit show.
-
I'm going to be crushed if they don't play BAI; such an epic song. Does anyone know if there's anywhere to grub or maybe grab a beer? The past few times I've seen Dream Theater they were at Tower City, but I've never been to Jacobs Pavilion.
-
Unfortunately I'm completely unfamiliar with the venue as well. Can't fricking wait! Less than a day (until the meet and greet).
-
I heard it's a relatively new venue. The last time DT played in Cleveland, the Jacobs Pavilion wasn't around, so they played in Tower City. Now that Tower City is shut down, they're playing Jacobs.
-
Hey guys, I'm seeing DT tomorrow.
-
Holy shit. Me too! :D
-
I'm so ridiculously stoked :)
-
We really should meet somewhere before Crimson goes on. I can't think of anywhere that would make sense given the fact that I have no idea how the place is laid out.
-
Are you guys using smartphones? If so, periodically check in and possibly post a meeting spot lol. Not sure how else to do it. I know I have to be at the meet and greet place at 5, but Crimson doesn't go on until 730, so I'm sure we will have time.
-
My Dad has a smartphone. I guess whoever gets there first can pick a good spot that everyone would be able to easily access and post something here. Whoever it is, make sure to include a description of what you'll look like so we can find you. :p
For what it's worth, I'll be wearing my Majesty wristband along with my Black Clouds shirt. My Dad will most likely be wearing his DT hat.
-
Ok, sounds good! Hopefully I'll get to meet a few of you guys! If something happens and we don't get a chance to meet up, enjoy the show :metal
-
It's probably not a huge deal, but I will post the setlist here on the forums at the end of the show tomorrow night. Just so people know it's coming eventually.
-
^ I appreciate that Results, so that we all aren't scrambling to post it :lol
I'm going to bed so that I'm fully rested for tomorrow night. See you guys at the show. :metal
-

Yea, that's a great point. Haha. We probably don't want 5 or 6 posts about the setlist in a row. :lol
If the timing ends up being similar to the Columbus show (and it looks like it will be), then I should have it posted up by midnight EST..
-
if any King Crimson fans are going (who will recognize the songs), could you post the setlist....
please, por favor, etc

I went to the Columbus show. I recognized most of the songs. Not entirely sure what the first song but this is all that I remember.

I'd love for them to play Dinosaur. Awesome song.

I heard it's a relatively new venue. The last time DT played in Cleveland, the Jacobs Pavilion wasn't around, so they played in Tower City. Now that Tower City is shut down, they're playing Jacobs.
Tower City shut down? I thought Jacobs Pavilion was just the new name for the old Nautica Pavilion nee Plain Dealer Pavilion?

"The approximately 5,000-seat venue, opened in 2001, closed in March 2011 as part of a casino construction project. The structure's future has not been determined. As of July 2011, the structure was being used for covered parking."
From wikipedia
-
Well I'll be damned. I haven't been to that part of Cleveland lately. Jacobs is the old Nautica Pavilion though. Maiden played there on Bruce's first tour after he rejoined.
-
It's today :caffeine:
I work until 2:30, but then me and my friend are booking it to Cleveland to get there extra early. Hopefully I'll see you guys there!
-
I'm not sure when I'll be getting there. Probably around 6:30 or 7.
-
Hell yeah! Cleveland show tonite! Hopefully it doesn't rain so far 30% chance, but should be fine :tup! Detroit tomorrow too woot! :metal
-
Just counting down the hours... :yarr
-
I'm probably going to be leaving here around 2 to get to Cleveland around 4. My Dad and I are both so excited that it's killing us to sit around waiting. :lol
-
I know the feeling! Even if I didn't have the meet and greet at 5, I probably would have still left early. I've been trying to figure out what to say to them, and this is what I think I've decided on:
NOTE: The shirt I refer to with JP is the one I won in the setlist guessing contest last year on here.
JP: Hi John! I discovered you guys through Rock Band 2 and never looked back. I won this shirt in a setlist guessing contest on DreamTheaterForums.org last year, and apparently you gave it to the administrator, so if it would be okay, I'd really like to have you sign it.
If I have time I will also say: Any cool plans for the upcoming DVD, like a Bluray or 3D version? And you guys have to do a commentary, we love those!
JM: It's an honor to meet you John. You played some truly amazing parts on the last album, and I just wanted to thank you for the inspiring lyrics you have written throughout the years.
JR: Hey Jordan! All of the experimentation you've done with the iPad and other instruments is awesome! I really enjoyed your Stageit.com concert and hope you do more of them.
MM: Nice to meet you Mike. I think you are a perfect fit for DT, and you blew my mind last year live in Pittsburgh. I cannot wait to see you killing it out there tonight!
JLB: Hi James! You are an absolute inspiration to me, having chose singing as my particular instrument. I've never sang rock or metal, but I did a couple of plays in high school, playing Riff in West Side Story and Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof. I know you are interested in Broadway as well, and I hope you get the chance to do it someday. BTW, the forklift videos were hilarious!
Hopefully not too longwinded, and I feel somewhat stupid for having it planned out, but I don't want to waste time and/or get flustered.
-
When I met MM after the show last time, I asked him how it felt to be YouTube famous. He lol'd.
-

:lol That'll be awesome! Let me know how it goes. (and if he mentions the fact that I still owe him a shirt, just, uh...avoid eye contact and deny any knowledge of anything)
-
I'll be sure to report back with the details :lol
-
(https://puu.sh/CAei)
I was trying to think of a place that there wouldn't be a ton of people. As long as there isn't someone who's checking tickets to keep people from going all the way down there, we should be alright. I'll probably be hanging out there as soon as the gates open (6:30 I believe).
-
That might work, considering my seat will be in the first five rows, and you are in the first row. Not sure about everyone else, but that should be cool.
-
Someone could always print out a sign that says "DTF MEETUP HERE LOL" but that might draw some strange glances.
-
Haha I bet it would. We don't want security asking us what we are doing :police:
-

I'm pretty sure it would attract a bit more than just strange glances.
-

gilpdawg added dinosaur. could that maybe be the first one?
Possibly. There was a decently long drum duet in the beginning as well.
-
Is anyone able to confirm that I don't need to bring anything but my ID to the show? I don't need to print out a ticket or anything since I purchased the Meet and Greet, correct?
-
Just your ID I think, but I also printed out my initial email after I ordered it, cause it said, "Please print our your e-receipt to bring to the show."
-

The "Your Order With VIP Nation" email? Would this be considered the "email confirmation receipt?"
-
Yep that's the one, I believe.
-
Yep that's the one, I believe.
Excellent, thank you! The way they worded it had me a bit confused lol :\
-
Damn. I've been having a really bad pre-concert day so far. I went to a gas station, and the fucking button to select the fuel type flat-out wouldn't work. So, I had to go to a different one. It was windy as hell, and my hair wouldn't get out of my damn face so I could see what I was doing. Then, I went home and found out that my earplugs have apparently been erased from existence.
This show had better brighten my day up. :lol
-
So, guys! Tonight is the night! If you're ever going to see Learning To Live before the next album comes out it will be tonight ;)
Because if they swap setlists the encore oughts to be Learning To Live :-X
-
It better be LtL! Haha. Actually, they could play You Not Me 10 times in a row and I would still have a blast (well, maybe not...).
-

I hope so. I want to see a switched up set tonight!
-
As long as I don't see PMU for the 3rd time :lol
It has closed the two shows I've seen previously, so that would be a major disappointment.
-
Well, I'm leaving work and should be on the road to Cleveland by 2:30. Hopefully I'll see Ultimetalhead and anyone else at the show, and might run into envex at the meet and greet!
-
I want pics of the shirt.
-
Then, I went home and found out that my earplugs have apparently been erased from existence.
That's something I've been meaning to ask. Earplugs. Do mose people use them? Is that something I should look into?
-
I want pics of the shirt.
The Meet and Greet shirt? It isn't anything to rave about. :-\
-

I always bring them. Occasionally, I won't use them. But most venues nowadays (especially indoor venues) are so loud that I feel the need to protect my ears.
I want pics of the shirt.

No. The shirt JP gave me that I gave to Shadow.
-
Honestly, I would recommend taking them. Even though it sort of "mutes" the audio slightly, you can actually hear everyone much better. Plus, the benefit of having your ears not destroyed is nice too haha.
A lot of people buy expensive earplugs for concerts, but a regular pair will do you just fine if you aren't an audiophile.
@Bosk - Don't worry, I'll definitely post a pic!
-
Someone could always print out a sign that says "DTF MEETUP HERE LOL" but that might draw some strange glances.
I'm pretty sure it would attract a bit more than just strange glances.
It would attract DTF members :D
-
Where would be a good place to pick up a couple pairs to bring with?
-
The BOA Pavillion in Boston actually hands them out. We sat in the front row in '09 with one of the giant speakers on the floor right in front of us. The Lovely Mrs. TAC asked for them at the booth, and they handed a pair to her.
-
I'm sitting pretty much at the middle table in the VIP tent :) so stoked!!!
-
Btw, a couple used a silver ticket from the black clouds set to get in to the meet and greet. I though they weren't good anymore, but apparantly not.
-
I'm sitting pretty much at the middle table in the VIP tent :) so stoked!!!
:omg: NOBODY TOLD ME THERE WOULD BE CAMPING!!!
-
If you don't find earplugs just get some cotton wool to stuff into your ear. If you make sure that both ears have equally big self-made earplugs so that the sound isn't louder on one side. Compared to cheap, not reusable earplugs cotton wool actually takes less higher frequencies away, which results in better overall sound. (Otherwise the bass and the drums are all you hear if the mix isn't top notch).
When you've got time and money order some earplugs via the internet. Decent ones you can reuse will only cost you about 20 - 30$ and they hold for a few years if you take care of them. You can also go to a local shop that sells "high-end" earplugs, which don't take away the high frequencies at all and just make it quieter, without changing the sound (or at least not badly). However, those will cost you 200 $ if you get lucky and probably more.
-
I'll look into getting ETY Plugs. I remember someone recommending them a while ago.
-
:caffeine: John Petrucci signed my shirt!!! I told him the story and his face lit up and he said "that's frickin sweet" (he really did say that haha).
Front row! Can't wait! I'll upload a pic of the shirt later

 That's awesome. I'm seeing them later in the tour. I'll make sure to bring it up too. Really, really cool. I'm really glad that shirt went to someone who could use it to connect with the band. So in retrospect, that shirt went from JP to me, from me to you, from you briefly back to JP for him to sign it halfway across the country, and then back to you. The Internet is truly an amazing thing. :lol
EDIT: So get to brag to everyone: "Hey, JP touched my shirt twice in two different states!" :lol

He touched it in both liquid AND solid states?!

Solid and gas, I think. If I remember correctly, they served chili at the after show.

:lol
enjoy the show!
-

Maybe the chili affected your memory.
-
Awesome show! Security was super lax so I could walk right up and take a photo by them. I shook hands at the end with Myung and Mangini. Best concert of my life!
No rotation though :(
-
Uh oh, Results May Vary will have something to say about the lack of rotation.
Hey I'm seeing em 3 days in a row... but i suspect by the time the run through the west coast some things will change...
-
There wasn't any rotation. I'm going to shoot myself.

Anyone have Crimson ProjeKct's setlists for the past 2 concerts?

Tonight's Crimson setlist was....
Epic Drum Duel

Dinosaur

Some song I hadn't heard before. One of the lines was "I REPEAT MYSELF WHEN I'M DISTRESSED I REPEAT MYSELF WHEN I'M DISTRESSED" or something like that. I lol'd.
The show was pretty badass. The crowd kind of sucked ass though. People in the front row sitting down. lolwut
-
thanks so much, UMH, I've been waiting for that. the last song appears to be indiscipline.

Hey, sorry we didn't meet up Ultimetalhead! Hope you enjoyed the show as much as I did.
-
No problem. Which was your seat number? I was in seat 6.
Anyhow, even with the lack of set rotation, I'm totally stoked about seeing them again tomorrow.
-
I was 19, almost smack dab in the center.

Some song I hadn't heard before. One of the lines was "I REPEAT MYSELF WHEN I'M DISTRESSED I REPEAT MYSELF WHEN I'M DISTRESSED" or something like that. I lol'd.
It's "I repeat myself when under stress". The song is Indiscipline, and I'm glad to hear that CP is playing that one. :metal

:lol It's Indiscipline and it's one of my favorite King Crimson songs. You're very lucky that you heard it. Anyway, who's playing in this Crimson Project thingy?

Ok, six photos for you guys. Security was ridiculously weird. They were stopping people left and right for recording video, but they said pictures were okay. Let me tell you how awesome this was, because they didn't even care if you walked right up to the stage (as long as you weren't recording video)!

I love the Jordan one.

Awesome pictures, Shadow. My Dad took about a hundred billion pictures, so I'll be sure to get some up here when he transfers them off his phone.
The Crimson band was Tony Levin (got a picture with him between sets), Adrian Belew, Julie Slick (from Adrian's solo band), and two drummers I didn't recognize. Tony was very animated and fun to watch.

Pirate, wearing a waistcoat? Next he will be in leather and half buttoned shirts! :yarr
-
Actually, after last night, I heard James is filming a documentary about his decision to leave Cleveland and go to Miami.
-
Asked about his decision to leave Dream Theater to go to a more popular band located in Miami, which would go on to receive a Grammy:
"It's about damn time, :yarr"

Man, I haven't been keeping up. I didn't realize CP was a (partial) King Crimson band. I wish so much that they could have opened the European tour instead of who ever it was that we saw (can't even remember their name).
With Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, and Pat Mastelotto (on drums) it's half of the classic "double trio" line up (the other half was Robert Fripp, Bill Bruford, and Trey Gunn) which was dominant at least when I saw them last which was back in the early 90's before I moved from the States (not sure how many years they continued with that line up).
I am most definitely jealous I can't see two of my favorite bands/partial bands of all time together ;). Glad you enjoyed the show!

Tonight's Crimson setlist was....
Epic Drum Duel
Some improvy stuff
Dinosaur
Elephant Talk
Red
Frame By Frame
Thela Hun Ginjeet

The show was pretty badass. The crowd kind of sucked ass though. People in the front row sitting down. lolwut
Thanks! That's a pretty tasty setlist. That's 4 songs from "Discipline," one of my favorite KC albums. :metal
The only song that I haven't heard is "Dinosaur" but other than that, looks great!

HELL to the yeah! :cjs:
Cool pix, Shadow and UMH! :metal

A few thoughts about this show:
The venue was awesome. Outdoor show + canopy + breeze from the river and lake = very comfortable show.
The sound was much better than the Columbus show (mostly due to the fact the Columbus show was indoors).
I was able to appreciate the light show a lot more than the Columbus show.
And Mangini added a little drum intro to the beginning of A Fortune In Lies on top of the original DUN-DUN-DUN.

TITL On live sounds AWSOME

What do you think of the light show on this leg? It seems to change from show to show and leg to leg. This one seems a bit downsized compared to the first NA leg. I just wanted to hear what someone had to say before my show on Wednesday. The lights have changed on this tour compared to last leg. As shown below

I think the light show is pretty awesome. I'd say I like it as much as I did on the first leg. It's not really *that* awesome imho, but it was really cool in Cleveland the other night.
-
It just seems to change from night to night.
-
Does anyone else feel that Labrie killed it? I haven't heard Labrie sing surrounded like that in years.
-
Yea, he was great. :yarr
-
He was even better at the Detroit show. He's been really crushing it lately.
-
I have a pretty good video of metropolis, but the sound is excellent. I will upload it overnight.

^This. Discipline was my first real exposure to KC and I played that album to death! I was of course familiar with their earlier stuff (Red, ITCOTCK and so on) but the Discipline era was by far my favorite. I was fortunate enough to see them on the Discipline, Beat, and TOAPP tours... Those were really GREAT times!
I'm pretty sure he song Dinosaur was from the next incarnation in the 90's (that I mentioned earlier), either from Thrak or Vvroom... I like the song but it was more hit and miss for me with those and following albums.
Here's a video. It's cut a little short at the end though.

^ Yeah, I believe "Dinosaur" is from Thrak.
I'm more of a "classic" KC fan, from ItCotCK to Red but I really enjoy "Discipline."
Actually quite excited to see Crimson ProjeKct :corn

Hmmm, would've never guessed ;D. Don't get me wrong, I also like and appreciate the older (pre 80's incarnations of KC, I just have to be in the right mood or frame of mind (for lack of a better description) when I put it on.
It had actually been a while since I just sat down and listened to KC so all this talk about CP and so on got me digging up old videos and re listening to albums... I even put on Starless and Bible Black and Red ;). I do have a soft spot for ItCotCK as well. I loved the part in Children of Men when the that came on... gave me the chills big time!

Frame by frame!! YES YES YES - love this song, so happy i get to see it live. Do we know if KC is rotating sets?

I talked to Tobias and Pat for a while before the Detroit show, and he said their set depends on what Adrian feels like singing. :lol

YES! Finally there is a boot of the current leg. I now own a bootleg of every leg of the ADTOE tour (including 2011 summer) except Asia, since it has the same setlist as 2012 Europe.

I'd still grab the Nagoya and Kanagawa shows. They sound excellent. I think better than the Euro shows.

I no sooner hit POST and I knew you would pipe in! :lol

We're getting predictable! :lol
I gave a very basic listen to the key points of this bootleg. james sounds very, very good. He's getting confident with hard passages (read Metropolis) and he's holding notes longer and better than before :)
-
I just burned it. Probably won't listen untill tomorrow.
In a Maiden mood, for obvious reasons, today.
