I'm happy DT has a grammy nomination.  If I had my way, it would have been a long time ago with IAW or SFAM.  In my opinion, ADTOE isn't that good and the mainstream music industry is just testing the waters with DT.  But it's okay.  DT can get a grammy.

James: I am ecstatic about it! Seriously, I think that it's probably one of the strongest albums, song-wise, that we've ever written, as far as I'm concerned. It forced us to look much deeper inside of ourselves in order to pull out the best that we could do, due to the circumstances. People would be much more scrutinizing and maybe have more room for criticism than for other albums due to the change. So it was up to us to prove that we're still the same band, and we had to write one of the best albums and I think we succeeded. We are all extremely pleased with the outcome.

The Grammys suck, who cares, etc.

Be happy for the band. No reason to bitch about why the past material hasn't received a nomination.

In my opinion the Grammys stopped sucking for a brief period in 1989 when they let Metallica play "One" and then the suckiness began again in earnest. However I believe the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has surpassed that level of suckitude and as Exhibit A I point out the fact that Madonna is in it and Ann Wilson is not.

I'm very happy that DT got the nomination. For better or for worse, I think its great that DT is finally recognized. Granted, their 20 year stuff was some of the greatest music I ever heard, but the stuff today is still a hell of a lot better than most of new music that comes out.

The way I see it, DT didn't get nominated for just ADTOE. While that album may have been the deciding factor, they still got to where they are because of their history. Had DT just hit the seen, and ADTOE was their first album, they never would have gotten the nomination. This nomination to me is more along the lines of... hey DT, you guys have had an awesome, slightly under recognized career, but you are still kicking ass. Our hats go off to you.
