At the 6:47 mark, there's a sound in the background...reminds of the hospital sequence in A Nightmare To Remember.  Anybody else hear this?  Does it have something to do with the lyrics?
By the way, still loving the CD!  It's in constant rotation on my IPOD, riding the trains of NY.  Saw DT recently at The Beacon Theatre....AMAZING show!

i hear what you're talking about -- sounds like a hospital, but I have no idea what the context of it is.

ADTOE has been getting a lot of subway play time for me too :)

I think its a sound effects layer they've put lightly underneath. Context? I have no idea. Maybe just to add to the atmosphere of that part :)

That's earlier in the song.

The Letter M

I've heard this too, since the first listen, and have thought it to be some sort of radio static or internet-noise-type-dial-up-kind-of-thing... what it means in the context of the song? Maybe they symbolize synapses firing or something in the brain, ya know, "Emerald thoughts flow through my consciousness"...maybe they're the emerald thoughts?

What exactly is an emerald thought anyway?
