Think about it. It makes much more sense now.

Actually yeah it makes sense. Haha nice one.

Setebos

What? I'm confused. I thought it was about Jenga. ???

You deify
When I'm no longer desired
I'll be crucified

Definitely can see the Batman resemblance. That topic was something that 2008's The Dark Knight dealt with.

Today I will be your savior
Tomorrow a demon

That? Nah... He is always a saviour. His "demonic" aspect is just a tool, a persona, so that people will fear doing crimes when he's around. The duality mentioned in BMUBMD's opening line speaks more about Two-Face, in my opinion.

this song is now officially about batman

Taking DT's official count of songs about Superheroes to 2.

(although I will now put forth that Misunderstood is about Superman, taking the total to 3).

Well, Awake is a concept album about Spider-Man, so really the count is 13.

Mosh

What the fuck...

I logged in here today to make a thread called "Misunderstood is about Batman." I'm dead serious.

Raw Dog is about how MP was a superhero for making ADTOE happen by saving the band.

All kidding aside, Awake really is about Spider-Man.

And I totally get Misunderstood being about Superman.  I dig it.

I thought the song was JP's "Never Enough" about the fans.

We could also say it's about Tiger Woods. Or MP. Or any person that becomes idolized and then demonized when he/she fucks up.

We could say that.  But Batman is far cooler.

I'm pretty sure that, if JP had to choose between Tiger Woods or Batman to write a song, we would pick Batman.

Anyone would.

Beneath the Surface - obviously Aquaman

Incorrect.  Namor, the Submariner.

Oh, yes.  My mistake.

Prophets of War = Anti-Stark Industries?

Why did you think that?
I agree with hef, here. I don't get that connection at all!

Also, who would be excited if Build Me Up, Break Me Down ended up on "The Dark Knight Rises" soundtrack. That would be unexpected, but pretty cool nonetheless.
