I think falling into infinity is one of their best albums, so most of these lists shocked me.

BlackInk

100 - Two Far
101 - Hollow Years
102 - Your Majesty
103 - Lifting Shadows of a Dream
104 - Another Day
105 - A Fortune In Lies
106 - Light Fuse and Get Away
107 - Status Seeker
108 - The Silent Man
109 - Vital Star

Taking my list from the (relatively) recent rank the songs thread, these were my 11 with the lowest rankings (Since I had several with the same rating).  Although I hadn't ranked any of the WDADU at the time as I had never really spent too much time with the album.

Metropolis Pt 1
Space Dye-Vest
Vacant
Take the Time
New Millenium
Burning My Soul
Just Let Me Breathe
Beyond This Life
Disappear
Hell's Kitchen
Lines in the Sand

Now realize that my bottom 11 DT songs still rank above the entire catalogue of other bands I like and listen to.

There are some damn good songs in that list.  :P

Including my very favorite DT song and two others from my top 15.  =D

Interesting list, eviltwin.

I was actually a bit amazed at that list as well, but I thought the rankings from that thread were a decent snapshot of my opinions...and when my worst song has a 5 out of 10 ranking, nothing is that bad :P

The only song on that list that I am tempted to skip when I spin an album is New Millenium...not sure why, but many of the lyrics in that song bother me.  The music itself is good though.

Also while Metropolis pt. 1 has some great parts I find it one of the least compelling songs on I&W.

Damn son, I see "Eve" on people's list. Most underrated DT instrumental IMO

Eve is like one those girls you see from afar and you think she's pretty.  Then you get close to her and not only is she meh, but when you blow in her ear she says "thanks for the refill".

KevShmev

Constant Motion (the worst)
Raw Dog (ick)
You Not Me (terrible chorus ruins what could have been a good song)
Where Are You Now? (a recent listen revealed how clunky and weird the melodies in this song are)
Never Enough (the only good thing about this song is the riff, which isn't even theirs :lol)
Burning My Soul (like You Not Me, a better chorus would have helped big time)
Forsaken (great JP solo, but the chorus sounds like they were for a hook and completely missed the mark)
Status Seeker (not as bad as some make it out to be, but still not that good)
These Walls (boring)
Don't Look Past Me (not bad, but nothing notable)

DarkLord_Lalinc

fuck, Don't Look Past Me is in your bottom 10?

I feel heartbroken.  :(

Dr. DTVT

In no particular order:

Raw Dog
You Not Me
Burning My Soul
Repentance
Sacrificed Sons
Never Enough
Endless Sacrifice
The Shattered Fortress
Vacant
The Way It Used to Be (total cop out answer, as I just couldn't bring myself to put anything else there)

Yup, no WDADU, I&W, Awake, or 6DoIT there.  Raw Dog, SS, Repentance, and The Shattered Fortress were the only ones I didn't have to think about as I routinely skip those songs (and thankfully Raw Dog isn't on a CD so I can just not play it).  I've heard ADToE over 20 times and can safely say that my least favorite song from that album (Lost Not Forgotten) isn't near that list with a 10 foot clown on a unicycle pole.

I'm curious to see your list, then.  A lot of people here consider FII one of their weakest albums, so your perspective should be pretty interesting.  :)

Also, welcome to the forum.

Also also, I'm surprised by the general lack of Prophets of War in this thread.  I was expecting it to be on pretty much everyone's lists, but so far only two have listed it.

I feel heartbroken.  :(

It made it by default.  I had the first nine and scrolled through their stuff in iTunes, and since that is the song I listen to the least from the rest, it made it.  This Dying Soul would have normally made it, but I cranked up ToT the other day and that sounded a bit better than I remember (although the last two minutes is still the biggest WTF in their history).  I could have easily picked Sacrificed Sons or Prophets of War as well.

Dream Team

94. The Silent Man
95. Regression
96. Cover My Eyes
97. Anna Lee
98. Hollow Years
99. Honor Thy Father
100. Burning My Soul
101. The Dark Eternal Night
102. You Not Me
103. Raw Dog

tri.ad

10. Beyond This Life
9. Through Her Eyes
8. Where Are You Now?
7. Honor Thy Father
6. You Not Me
5. Never Enough
4. This Dying Soul
3. Hollow Years
2. Raw Dog
1. The Dance Of Eternity

Barely escaped: Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence.
Broke out of the list recently: Endless Sacrifice.

Dr. DTVT

It might be because FII was the new album when I discovered DT, but I had it as their 5th best album until ADToE came out.  FII has some really great songs, but it also has two or three clunkers.

krands85

Haven't considered any unreleased tracks and in chronological order.

Light Fuse and Get Away
Status Seeker
The Ones Who Help to Set the Sun
You Not Me
Burning My Soul
Just Let Me Breathe
Take Away My Pain
The Answer Lies Within
Repentance
The Best of Times

EDIT:
I don't hate any of those songs, if I'm listening to the albums I won't skip anything.
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

I consider PoW to be a DT "novelty" song.

Thanks for the encouragement.

I'm only going to consider official discography, otherwise I would have list the majority of "A Change of Seasons".

So, in no particular order -

6:00
Sacrificed Sons
Status Seeker
The Best of Times
Act 1 Scene V: Through Her Eyes
A Rite of Passage
Innocence Faded (I love the end, but the song seems distant in its production)
Scarred
Vacant
Disappear

Also, pretty much all the special edition tracks off of Black Clouds. After hearing the new album, I'm glad that none of those songs made this list.

I've noticed that the Shattered Fortress makes a lot of lists. I used to agree, but I think the bridge in that song is one of the most beautiful in all of DT's music.

Interesting.  Just because you don't like covers in general, or you don't like these specific songs?

6:00
Just let Me Breathe
Repentance
The Answer Lies Within
The Great Debate
I don't understand this at all. Nor do I understand why people rank WDADU songs so low. The album may have terrible production and (arguably) vocals, but on WDADRU, the songs are incredible.

In no order:
You Not Me
Take Away My Pain
Burning My Soul
The Ministry of Lost Souls
Innocence Faded
Prophets of War
Peruvian Skies
Through Her Eyes
As I Am
Never Enough

The only ones I really dislike are You Not Me, Burning My Soul, and The Ministry of Lost Souls, though.

Wow, 6:00 is on A LOT of lists. WHY?

You're welcome.  :)  Interesting list.  And I'm glad you chose not to list anything from ACOS or BC&SL bonus tracks, because I agree with DTVT that covers don't count.

FlyingBIZKIT

Constant Motion (least fav)
You Not Me
Through My Words
Forsaken
The Ministry Of Lost Souls
The Ones Who Help To Set The Sun
Lie
A Rite Of Passage
As I Am
Panic Attack

no order really.

It's one of the few songs that as soon as I heard the intro, I knew I was going to dislike it.

erciccio

Cronological order with minor comments

1) 6:00 (cool drums intro, but I hate the rest as much as JLB does. And I think you can easily understand why he hates that song)
2) You not me (I remember JM saying he was ashamed while playing this staff live. Nothing else to add...)
3) Burning my soul (They have stolen that riff (?) from my 1st year guitar excercise book. And that is the whole song)
4) Just let me breathe (Was it supposed to be a dance-metal or an head banging song for the concerts? It used to be my beer-time song when it used to be very frequent in the setlists...it's just not a DT song, except for the short instrumental section)
5) Beyond this life (It has the only technical instrumental section that I don't like at all. I never loved the (few) Zappa influences)
6) The Glass Prison (IMHO the most overrated DT song. Good heavy riff and nice JP arpeggios-shredding. But the rest of the song is just a prequel of all the issues that will emerge later...forgettable melodies, unconnected riffs, ordinary solos...and it's the 1st chapter of the SAGA...DT career would have been better without the MP baby)
7) Honor Thy Father (very good initial riff followed again by all the metal things I dislike in DT...the grand father of the growl section in ANTR)
8) Panick attack (when they play it live, I'm never able to recognize this song 'til the very end...my brain simply doesn't like it)
9) Constant Motion.(constant pain. Just save the solo)
10) Repentance (...it's just boring...I like to play the guitar solo only because it's easy...)

ehm...special guest: New Millenium!! I forgot about it...(it's just too forgettable...)

reneranucci

It was really difficult to come up with a list of bad songs from the guys, since I love the band very much. The ones I was certain about were the ones on Awake. I didn't like the general approach to that album, and I think the same is happening with ADTOE.

But for the rest of the list I just put the songs I seldom feel motivated to listen to, but that I don't really dislike. I could listen to You Not Me from beginning to end without making any ugly gesture.

Has James actually said he doesn't like 6:00? Or is this just an assumption based on the lyrics or something.

My mistake!! It's New Millenium...I mixed the two openers while writing down the list...but, as mentioned above, sometimes I even forget about the existence of New Millenium...:)

In no particular order:

Constant Motion
The Dark Eternal Night
Repentance
A Rite of Passage
The Dance of Eternity
Forsaken
Burning My Soul
The Ytse Jam
A Nightmare to Remember
The Count of Tuscany

I wouldn't say I hate any of these songs, I just never have any desire to listen to them anymore.

BlackInk

Phoenix87x

1. A Nightmare to Remember (The growling earned it number 1)
2. Repentance
3. Prophets of War
4. The Shattered Fortress
5. Constant Motion
6. A Rite of Passage
7. The Best of Times
8. In the Presence of Enemies part 2
9. Octavarium (Never could get into this song)
10. Disappear (I know that a lot of people love this song and I totally respect that, but personally, it just doesn't do anything for me)

Feels good to get that off my chest.

Jaffa

When I began this thread, I was especially curious to see if anyone would list Metropolis, Learning to Live, A Change of Seasons, or Octavarium.

Two down,  two to go.
