Scenes from a Memory
Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
Train of Thought
Octavarium
Systematic Chaos
Black Clouds & Silver Linings
Not Kevin Moore

Pols Voice

Scenes, and it's not even really close. It's the last DT album where every song is good.

Jaq

Scenes. Most cohesive from start to finish...hell, why am I explaining it, it's freaking SFAM!

:lol The only thing that put me off with TGD was the lyrics, and the long intro/outro sample section. Aside from that, it's actually a really good song.

SFAM for me, even though Six Degrees is not far behind. Octavarium would be up there too, if it didn't have "Panic Attack", "The Answer Lies Within" and "I walk Beside You".

Reason is that SFAM from beginning to finnish is a lot more consistant then the others. It also has great tracks like "Home", "Fatal Tragedy", "One Last Time", "Spirit Carries On", "Finally Free" and so on. Allthough this is probably the album that start the over the top wanking, i am not saying that the old albums didn't have it. But it doesn't feel like the songs are there just for rudess and petrucci to solo, which the newer albums sounds like.

I have a feeling you feel that way because of the new albums. Back when I first heard Scenes I thought the stuff was pretty cool. Then album after album it was like "oh, this again".

Bolsters

A poll asking favourite/best that has Scenes but not I&W or Awake. Of course Scenes was going to win :|

Am I the only one that perfectly understood what that post said? Or am I missing something with the "..lol?" responses?

Anyway, I voted Train Of Thought, it's one of my top 2 DT albums. SDOIT would be next as it's my #3.

The Great Debate is the only DT song where the samples actually bring it down. That aside, yeah, the song is phenomenal.

My vote is split between SFAM and ADTOE

YES! I just listened to this about 5 minutes ago. I can't stand the samples. To think that some people complain about the samples in SDV  :omg:

I'll take the relevant samples of TGD over random TV show samples anyday, thanks. :)

SFAM is gonna win, but for me SDOIT is just DT at their best in every aspect.

This exactly! I've never cared about the samples in TGD or SS, but in SDV, I always try to ignore them

Super Dude

It fascinates me that people rate ToT higher than 8vm.  I always thought the former was considered a DT bastard child.

Me too, although aside from the title track, I don't know that Octavarium gets all that much love either. I think it's that ToT is a more consistent album. If you like one track, it's possible you'll like most of it. But Octavarium is so diverse, that it probably won't please as many as a whole.
