Just announced today via https://v2.iloveallaccess.com/tours/dream-theater/dream-theater/

I was going to the Pittsburgh, but waited on buying tickets and my luck paid off!

Who else will be going to the Chicago date?

I can't find any concrete info on when tickets will be going on sale, either.

Fuck!  Same day as Ghost playing with Enslaved in Chicago.  I hope DT has a Milwaukee date so I can see both.  Blah!

Madman Shepherd

Does Rosemont have assigned seating or General Admission?

I saw the scorps there, and it was assigned for us. Almost 100% it's that way throughout.

 This sucks! LOL I love Ghost...

Madman Shepherd

So I thought since Ghost is an opening band I might be able to see both and then I realized it doesn't say that DT is playing with Trivium for the Chicago date.  Also, with them playing Salt Lake City on Sept 30th, it is likely October 1st will be a travel day for them.  I guess there is hope they would play in Omaha or even Des Moines but not likely.

I really wanna go. It's 2hr away from the university I will be joining this fall, so I just have to find an upperclassmen with a car now. Or save to pay a fortune to a cab.

Madman Shepherd

Packages go on sale August 15th, at 2:00PM....SOME people need to work at that time.  They better still be available by the time I am able to purchase....grrrrr

Probably going to get my tickets this coming Friday on payday. Im sure there will still be seats then. I'm just looking to get the normal concert ticket. Nothing special.  :)

Adami

Holy Xenu that's expensive.

From what i've seen at other shows, anywhere between $35 and $70 for the basic ticket only. Granted this is Chicago and prices are bound to be different. Hopefully not too expensive since a buddy and I will be driving 8 hours to see DT in Chicago (from central Ohio).

Adami

Yea, there's no way I can spend 35 bucks for a bad ticket. I'm just too damn broke.

Wow, the Rosemont Theatre is a great place for a concert, and not too far from me.  I just might.

Wanna buy me a ticket?

I'll let you stand near me if you do.

Got my Meet & Greet ticket.  I've seen them five times and I never thought I would resort to spending that much money to meet them but shit, thats how excited I am for this line up/album.

Still waiting for standard tickets to go on sale. The venue's website and ticketmaster both don't even show DT playing there on the 2nd, let alone a time for tickets to go on sale.

Orbert

I just realized something.  I've never bought concert tickets online.  The last couple of concerts I went to were years ago and both times, friends of mine provided them.  The last concert I remember actually purchasing tickets for in person at a box office was back in the 90's.  That's freaking bizarre.

In before Orbert you are an old fart please leave my planet, etc.

Well, if you insist, I'll stick around a little longer.

Eventually though, I'll need to return to my home planet for supplies.  I mean, the coffee here really sucks.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 11am EST (10am CDT), according to ticketmaster.

Does anyone have the internet presale password??  I want to make sure I can get some decent seats and I can't get this information anywhere.  :-(  I'm hoping someone on here has it...

Also, any suggestions on best seats for sound quality in this place?  Balcony okay or no?  I'm thinking the main floor...

ResultsMayVary

I plan on getting balcony seats, but it doesn't matter to me. Any seat in this venue looks like it will have a great view and great sound.

Great venue! I really want to go, but I'll be in school in Des Moines. On a Sunday? When I have classes Monday morning? Not likely.  :(

I'm doing the same thing, but I go to Ohio State. I'll be getting back at like 6 0r 7am and then straight to class. Woo!

Noob Question: It says the concert starts at 7:00PM. Is that the time Dream Theater starts to play, or Trivium?

Orbert

The starting time of the show is when the first act takes the stage, in this case Trivium.  If you're okay with skipping them, you could probably get to your seats closer to 8:00 and be fine.  But what the heck, you've paid for both acts; might as well see them both.  I've been to shows where the opening act was horrible, but sometimes they're pretty good and definitely worth it.

ResultsMayVary

I'm excited to see Trivium. Glad that they don't have a bad opening act this time around.

Thanks. And yeah, actually I want to see Trivium. The problem is that I am trying to figure out what time the concert will end so that I can figure out how I will get back to my university. Seems like I'm gonna have to spend some extra bucks on a cab.

Could you tell me what seat you're in? I want to see the look on your face when Trivium goes on.

2 October 2011   Chicago   Rosemont Theatre [A]
3 October 2011   Royal Oak   Royal Oak Music Theatre[A]

A. ^ The noted events are without Trivium.

If they are there, it will be a surprise. Their site says every date but the official dates on DT.net say they are without them those shows.

I'll be on the first floor. 23 rows back. Look for the dude in the wheelchair. I'll shake your hand.

Trivium has the second listed, and it also has Royal Oak and Salt Lake City listed, which seem to contradict the Wikipedia article you quoted.

Trivium'll be there. This isn't some great victory, either. I WISH you were right and that they'd get a some actual proggers to open for them. But I'm bracing for the worst case scenario.
