...if the background to the youtube video of DT's latest song really is the cover of ADToE, what do you think of it?
I for one am feeling ambiguously towards it. I like it, particularly the surreal elements and cleanness of it, but at the same time I feel a little underwhelmed...

I personally think it's pretty stupid.  I 'get it' and all, it's just visually very boring to me.

CrimsonSunrise

Even though it says ADTOE, I think it's just a single cover, not the album cover.

yorost

Don't like it, but I don't like most of Dream Theater's album covers.

Aniland

I like it, BUT I wish that the Dream Theater font stuck out more. It looks like it was just sorta pasted on by a fan last minute.

Remember though, the Systematic Chaos album artwork showed a different font and whatnot initially for the title, so it might not be COMPLETELY final in that regard.

tri.ad

It's OK. DT had better ones, but also worse ones.

LieLowTheWantedMan

I don't know. I admire the fact it's not as cluttered, but it's kinda lame.

Kosmo

It's okay.

The dude on the unicycle has a horrible taste in clothes though.

darkshot

It reminds me of Falling Into Infinity's cover, simple and not cluttered.  It could have looked a lot better though...

ClairvoyantCat

If this is the cover (as far as I can tell we can't be sure) then I don't particularly like it.  Better than Black Clouds or SC, at least.

Gadough

A small bit of consolation for anyone that doesn't like it: hey, nothing could be worse than WDADU's cover. ;)

SystematicThought

I like it. It's not gloomy and depressing like the past few covers. I don't remember who was in charge of that department.

Some fans are already speculating that the kid on the unicycle is MP and DT is the plane. He's in one direction the plane is in the other. Is the rope cut too?

Aniland

I think it's also really indicative of how not-metal it's going to feel. I mean, even in this song's heavier parts... I didn't feel like I was listening to a metal record.

Rafael Guerra

Was expecting it to be better, but it's not bad.

OsMosis2259

Heretic

I think it's a pretty nice cover, very lighthearted and not very cluttered, a welcome factor after the past few covers.

FlyingBIZKIT

I think it's great. It's very simple, and simple can be better.

Lol, watch this not even be the real art. The real cover would have the same stuff, but a bunch of stuff copy/pasted into the clouds, taking much inspiration from BC&SL's cover  :lol

chrisbDTM

love the colors, but the clown guy is pretty lame.

bloop

Eh it's alright...certainly an improvement from BC&SL.

Dr. DTVT

Not really feeling that cover.  It doesn't really match the album title and just seems esoteric for no particular reason.  Hopefully its something else.

lateralus88

Fuck y'all, I love it. It's very "A Change of Seasons" feeling.

This 100x. I love the album cover.

LCArenas

I like the way it feels... Lighter. I don't know how to explain it. BC&SL (As much as I liked that cover) was crowded with objects: a kid, elephants, crows, paintings, etc. SC was crowded with highways and ants. This is a more simplistic cover, and I dig that. I also like that the cover has a brighter appeal, in contrast to the gloom and darkness from both SC and BC&SL.

Also, maybe the sky of the cover is the same sky that was behind the door in BC&SL? I don't know.

Zook

The clown is dressed very similar to the clown on Circus Maximus' debut, The 1st Chapter. Other than that, the cover is just OK.

Completely agree.

...I really dislike that cover.

Pols Voice

Looks pretty amateurish. Many of the fan made covers in that one thread are better, so good job everyone. :)

This. I loved the ACoS one, and I love this one even more. And I think it is the actual album cover, not just for the single.

perfectchaos180

Yeah if this is the cover then I am pretty disappointed and it is probably one of my least favorites of theirs

RaiseTheKnife

Production value is equal to low-end fan art.

I like the idea of borrowing FII's simplicity, and using bright colors to contrast with the last album.  But I would expect a little more effort than this lame entry.  The shark fin gag from Airplane: the Movie???

But there's still time to change the cover!!

?

If that's the official cover for the album, it isn't one of their better covers. Still ok, though.

Dream Team

In my experience no one is ever satisfied with the covers; all the computer nerds think they can photo-shop something better. Who cares, anyway? Most of the kids will just download it instead of buying it anyway.

MykeHavoc

I'm hoping thy have alternate covers. I'm not a big fan of it, but I must admit that it is very "DT". I wouldn't really mistake it for any other modern artist.
