DT should never make a last album.........
they should make albums as long as they enjoy making music in DT as DT..and when they lose the spark of music they should quit, but not with a final album....it should be ...DT stops...which makes DTXX turned out to be there final album.

they definatly should make 1 album with MP..imo...not to bring up MP again...but I do think that when DT is recording there last note, MP should be in that room...maybe not as a drummer, but at least as an engineer, critic, ass and balls etc.

Some of you guys amaze me... I don't even see the point of speculating about the nature of DTs last album xD Let's save that until it is due, if they even decide to make a "definite final album"...

I cannot fathom what DT would name their final album, but I'd like the artwork to be (hear me out on this):

An ornate picture of a miner:
- In one hand he holds a Majesty cow poke
- Nearby, a young girl stands
- She's looking a mirror
- In the mirror is a shoreline, where there are two boys sitting on elevated platforms
- Meanwhile, a collage face looks on
- At Six
- Trains
- Carrying giant balls
- Upon which mechanical ants wander
- And in the background, the sky is blotted with black clouds with silver linings
- While the foreground is dominated by an angel
- Finally, standing upon the back of the angel is the miner
- And in his other hand, he is holding a sack
- And
- In
- That
- Sack
- Are
- Innumerable
- Gold

I've always thought a self-titled album would be good for last, for any band, rather than the first. It has a more definitive "swan song" vibe to it if it's the last album, IMO. An album simply named Dream Theater would have that vibe to it in a strong way, too.

Well, let me simplify it further for you.  I could ask DT why they chose that certain title for the new album, but no matter what reason they might give, that still won't change the fact that I think it sucks.  In other words, asking why really won't get you the answer you're looking for.  That's why I said, "why not".  If you think "why" deserves an answer, then "why not" also deserves an answer.

So, whatever dude, yourself.
