New Album Title (A Dramatic Turn of Events) and Track Listing Revealed

I don't care much for the album title but frankly I don't really care in general.  I just want the music itself to be good.  Cannot wait for tomorrow.

To me A Dramatic Turn of Events doesn't really sound like an album title, but that doesn't really bother me. I really don't usually give album titles much thought.

Upon more thought...DT isn't a lyric-driven band with great titles left and right.  Most titles are pretty cheesy, so I'll be optimistic and hope that the music is great.  The thing that is most exciting about the announcement is the 9 songs.  I think BCSL's weakness was that it didn't bulk up DT's catalogue, so I'm excited to see that this truly is a new chapter.

Whenever I think of 'This Is The Life', it reminds me of the Foo Fighters song 'Ain't It The Life' (if you haven't heard it, Youtube it). And this is a good thing.

Actually, I think about 'This Is Your Life' which is a great The Killers song.

Also, as far as The Shaman's Trance, the first thing that popped into my mind (and not in a good way) was this:

Yes, my actual first thought was that it is a little too similar to the concept of black clouds and silver linings; both titles sort of imply the same type of thing. Not EXACTLY, I know, but samey in that they're about situations that change or move from a negative to positive result. I also wish it wouldn't so blatantly reference MP's departure.

Whatever, I'm sure the music will be great.

Wow, when I first read about this title and track listing, I thought for sure it was fake. But now to have it confirmed by JP...eh, I don't know. It doesn't really matter to me since it's the music I care about, I'd listen to something I like regardless of its title or the name of the album it appeared on. This just seems to me to be milking the fact that Mike left more. Okay, he left, it was a big deal, but does the next album have to reference it? Especially when it has to be their most uninspired and uninteresting album title to date.

Why not? It happened didn't it? It's a lot more interesting than JP making up some cheesy fantasy, this is actually based in real emotions. I know I'd write a song about it if I was in a similar situation. I also know I wouldn't really give a crap that some fans are like "oh noes, we don't talk about MP anymore, I can't believe they did this". It may be some kind of no-go subject for some, but I'm sure the band has a different feeling about it, and they have every right to sing about it.

Can't believe I missed this thread for seven pages!  I just found out on facebook! 

Album name sounds entirely too obvious, but all the tracks sound awesome!  Except "The Shaman's Trance," which is bound to become the new TCOT unless Aniland's prediction holds true.   

And the album's coming out on September 13th?  Happy birthday to me!
