Super Dude

Y'know I'm actually finding that the closer we get to the release date, the easier the wait is for me.  This is very unusual. :p

It'll be the soundtrack to the documentary. Some idiot will have copied it to the website thinking it's a tracklisting.

BlobVanDam

If you watch the DT documentary, that's listing the music snippets in the background. What a weird way to list it.

edit: damn, got Myung'd.

Super Dude

And now just to refresh my memory, the standard edition doesn't come with the doc?

Also, I deleted a few posts from this thread. Can I remind everyone of what is in this sticky thread: https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=24371.0

Even for all the fakes leaks out there, DO NOT POST THEM AND DO NOT DISCUSS THEM.

Super Dude

I love when a new Dream Theater album comes out.  Aside from the awesomeness of having great new music from a band I love, it becomes almost like a holiday for me.  It's like Christmas at DTF, it's so great.  I remember when BC&SL came out there was this awesome feeling of community as everyone got their copy and had their first and second listens, posted their thoughts, how I would post my progress in DT-Side chat as I listened and people would say, "Just wait till you get to X."

It's such a great feeling.  I cannot wait till September 13th.

Just CD = 14$
CD/DVD Special Edition = 16$
Super Mega Ultra Pack = 106$

jayvee3

Gday peeps - apologies if this has been posted already, but for anyone in Australia, according to the JB Hi Fi website, the album will be released here on the 9th September, with the normal CD at $19.99, and the special edition with doco for $25.99. JB are usually pretty spot on with thier releases too..

I don't know, but I'm hoping not.  I suspect it will just be a 2-disc jewel case like they did for SC.

That's where I'll get mine from! JBHiFi FTW - even though their staff are emo wannbies....I still shop there all the time.

The band is probably going to take a couple of weeks off, but with the release only 5 weeks away, I'm a little surprised by the lack of press ie. interviews that have surfaced regarding the new album.
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Yeah, I feel like Roadrunner actually promoted this less than either previous RR-era album.

???

A big "new drummer" documentary, frequent updates on the band/album including the new single being featured on the RR site (w/ over a million views!), releasing teasers in the run-up to release date, etc.?  DT have been doing regular interviews, it's just that touring in Europe, most of those interviews have been with European publications.  What more were you expecting?

^That.

(Although I'm still holding out hope for the ultimate album promotion:  A Mike Mangini action figurrrrrrrrrrr)

Some music, man!  The drummer thing was cool but it doesn't actually have anything to do with the album itself.

We are still a month or so out. I think they've done a decent amount of advertising so far considering that.

I really would have loved to have seen the full auditions, or at the very least Mangini's full audition. Considering this is his first album, I think it would be a nice extra for fans to see him playing some familiar DT stuff and familiarize them with his playing. It couldn't hurt.
And it's not like it would have required much effort to add them to the DVD. Just stick them on there.
