Mangini's new DT kit revealed

First of all, hi all, first post here although I've been reading the forum for quite a while.

As any of you who visit the PDF may have already seen, one of the Pearl artist reps revealed some photos of the new MM touring kit in this thread.

The highlight for me is the road case label.

From my count, no including electric pads, the Mirage Monster has 2 more drums than Mangini's new Pearl kit.

Actually, I count 20 drums each, but I might be wrong considering I am pretty tired...
Looking at MM's kit - 4 Bass Drums, 8 Toms, 2 Snares, 4 Octobans, 2 Timbales = 20 Drums
MP's Mirage Monster - 3 Bass Drums, 9 Toms, 2 Snares, 6 Octobans = 20 Drums


Did I miss anything?

Well, actually, I don't think so. it looks quite organized to me, maybe more than MP's kit btw. But I think we can agree it looks awesome though!

I have that impression too but, as you say, maybe the way the kit is organized gives that impression.

Well his kit setups have always been far from normal. An extra snare drum right in front of you, crossed hihats, bells and very small splashes in from of him, rides on a strange place, you name it.
It actually does work when you know how to play it, and he does, but I can definitely imagine it looks impractical.

apparently im the first drummer to not have 4 sets of high hats and octabons mounted 3 feet above you. 

it works for him because he is extremely fast and has good lim independence however i couldn't play on a  kit that ugly

i think this is why MP sized down into 2 kits instead of one they just get too awkward.

Maybe, maybe not. I think that it was more convenient for him that way because, contrary to MM, he cannot play like a lefty.

I don't think the phrase "sizing down" is particularly applicable with any of MP's kits.
