I remember seeing a video clip of MP and Neal Morse saying Marry Christmas and hyping Testimony II. In that video MP says that he laid down some of his best stuff EVER, in reference to Testimony II. Why can't he love this music more than ever. I see no problem with him saying this. Sounds like he just needed a fresh change and that has inspired him.

Here's to hoping that DT was inspired by a fresh change too.

He's always liked working with Neal Morse. Heck, Mike has been Neal's main drummer since Testimony.

Nothing strange or dissing about that post. As mentioned, Mike's been Neal's studio drummer since 2002 (six albums, I think) and in that time he has laid down some incredible drum tracks. He has not held anything back when playing with Neal. I've got my tickets for the upcoming Neal Morse show with MP on the tour. Very, very EXCITED! This is the best part of MP leaving DT... even more great music and live shows to enjoy!

But JMXs reclusiveness hasnt allowed him to enjoy a hamburger with the full band for years, so maybe he'd be saying that he's glad to be away from the band with that one too

@OP: there's nothing controversial or wrong about MP's post. He has always said things like that regarding Morse's music. That's why he keeps playing with him.

I doubt that MP has something refering to DT putting EVEN in capitals.... shouldn't we leave poor MP in peace and stop writing that everything what he says is refering to DT...this makes no sense, that part of his live is over.

I don't think this is a big deal. I'm sure when DT releases their upcoming album, they will say it's some of the best music they ever recorded, but I wouldn't take that as a dig at MP. It's just the excitement over the fresh new material.

I think MP is right to excited about this. This album is loaded with epicness. Some excellent songs on this gem, loaded with great drumming. MP and the rest of the band, just crush it.

Honestly, my initial reaction to his comment made me wonder "He didn't really have to emphasize the word 'ever'," because it made me think he was trying to being passively aggressive to the DT camp. I mean, I get it that he's not gonna be mundane about his recent work, but it's just something that, in the context of all the DT drama these past months, doesn't really help at all, and can be easily misconstrued.

I'm happy for him that he is excited!
