While that would be completely unexpected and awesome at the same time, I really don't think that it's going to happen.

I know I'm gonna be wrong, but I'm gonna guess either PMU or 6DOIT

Nic35

The lack of either SDOIT, Voices and/or Scarred is disturbing.

Six Degrees, an easy call knowing where quadro's taste lie.

SDOIT is Dream Theater's most overrated song ever.

Agreed.  Don't get me wrong, it is very good, but they have many, many songs that are better, IMO.

This. Although About To Crash Reprise has one of my favourite DT riffs.

BRGM

Yeah, SDOIT is a good song but not their best, I think...It'll be interesting to see what Quads 1# song is  ;D

Quadrochosis

Before I post what my favorite DT song is, I'd like to rank their albums. (The final song will come in a few hours)

1. Metropolis Pt. II: Scenes From A Memory
2. Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
3. Images & Words
4. Train of Thought
5. Octavarium
6. When Dream & Day Unite
7. Falling Into Infinity
8. Black Clouds & Silver Linings
9. Systematic Chaos
10. Awake

Birch Boy

I think it's safe to say that "Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence" will be #1.

3. Images & Words
10. Awake
Does not compute...

Either way, I also bet for Six Degrees and it would definitely be deserved.

SC in 9th is much more understandable than Awake in 10th.

So, so true.

And there is no way that 6DOIT is Quad's 2nd favorite DT album with the title track not being one of his 50 favorite DT songs, so I think number one is pretty obvious now.

This means, no "Scarred" or "Voices." :eek :eek :eek :eek  Quad might be the only DT fan on this site where that would happen. :p :lol

With 6DoIT and ToT so high, I'm very surprised to see Awake so low. Care to explain?

How can you explain the unexplainable? :p

#234
It just never did anything for me. I've given it at least 30 listens over the past 6 years I've been a DT fan and it has never really done much of anything for me. (The exception being SDV)

It's a good progressive metal album but there are so many songs that are just complete throwaways (Like the first three tracks).

Pirate

This list makes my head full of fuck. Number one is sure to be totally obvious, or in a predictable twist of fate, some dumb obscure unpopular b-side that no one gives two shits about. Good work, Quad. DTF can't repel fail of this magnitude.

The top ten barely redeems this thread.  :yeahright

ddtonfire

Interesting. Awake was a sleeper album for me - I didn't really like it at first but eventually it grew on me like it was a colony of E. coli and I was room-temperature Canadian beef. Come to think of it, I need to give it a listen now.

So much for that glimmer of hope that "Innocence Faded" would be number 1.  :lol  :corn

What you like is what you like.  But Awake isn't a "metal album."  There are really only 2 metal songs on it (The Mirror & Lie), maybe 4 if you want to count 6:00 and Caught In A Web.  Even so, that's only 4/11.  I'm not sure how Innocence Faded, Erotomania, Voices, The Silent Man, Lifting Shadows Off A Dream, Scarred, and Space-Dye Vest could be construed as metal.

But you're right about what Pirate posted.  WTF, man.  Why would you piss on his whole thread like that?

Yeah, Pirate, that was not cool.  While I might disagree with some of these picks and the omission of certain songs, I am giving Quad crap mostly in jest, which I am sure most others are, too.  It is his list and he can put the songs in any order he wants.  Don't like it?  Make your own list.

Quadrochosis

I removed it, I'm sorry for freaking out, and as soon as I wrote that I realized that my post was nothing but a YOU MAD post, so it was best to remove it.

And yea, it was supposed to say Progressive Metal. It was a typo. :lol

Well, to be fair, I haven't posted number 1 yet, so you can't say that just yet. >_>
