Gorguts are definitely a “blind spot” in my death metal education. I think I checked something out years ago, and I probably wasn’t ready ;) since then I’ve listened to a fair share of impenetrable, unwelcoming death metal, so I should go back and rediscover the pioneers, I guess. Is this a good starting point?

Litho already said it better than I could, and is clearly more knowledgeable on the band. I've only heard Coloured Sands, Considered Dead and The Erosion of Sanity, but Considered Dead is my clear favourite :metal

Ok, roulette finally over, I can begin checking out some stuff I got in the first rounds :corn

Well seems luke did send me the best tracks on this, as I'm not that much into the rest of the tunes, but I'll give it another go eventually.

I dunno dude, I think this album is pretty consistently great. I love this record, it reminds me of my dad a lot.

I have so many good memories linked this album. It's an absolute gem in Green Day's catalogue and extremely underappreciated.

I think it doesn't help that, at least with the spotify version, it's mastered very quietly, so there are many segments where I can't hear anything happening at all :lol. But I'll give it another go eventually don't worry.

(roxy radclyffe had also namedropped them prior to this so it's like a two nickels scenario here)

It's still the only Thrice album I've heard front to back. :lol

Give Beggars a chance. It's not a long album and it is concisely filled with excellent songwriting.

The Who - The Who Sell Out (1967) For as long as I've been a big Who fan I've liked many of the songs on this album. But it occurred to me it has been ages since I listened to it straight through. I had forgotten how solid this album is beginning to end. You can feel the progression from the initial "Maximum R&B" days to what they would become Who's Next and beyond.

I rarely post here so don't know who the regulars are. If lonestar and/or Stadler are here I am curious to hear their thoughts on this album, or anyone else's of course.

I'm a big fan of The Who, and Sell Out is my favourite album of them all. Seems like the big ones are either Tommy, Who's Next, and Quadrophenia (and they're awsome too), but I've always prefered their poppier stuff from 1966-1968. There are so many highlights here - Our Love Was, I Can See For Miles, Sunrise, I Can't Reach you for example.
Zydar is my new hero.  I just laughed so hard I nearly shat.

Nice. I listened to this earlier as well and really enjoyed it.
