Well I loved my last job in Florida, I worked with great people in a great environment and I felt like I was both learning and getting shit done.

My job is working with 5 of the laziest people I've met. Take yesterday for example, we are the only support for 185 retail stores. If anything goes wrong with their POS system we are the people to call. In the morning one woman forgot to turn off call forwarding from office cell phone so no one was able to call the entire morning. Then there was lunch where they just leave the phone off.

Also they will have people waiting on hold for 40+ minutes simply because they want a smoke break.

It's maddening, just hanging out all day makes the day just crawl.

It's the first job I took in Charlotte so I'm actively looking for another because I can't stand going into this place.

I had 4 guys on a 5 man crew leaving.  One pointed out not showing up.  One I had to get rid of.  he was trouble, one gave his notice and one gave his notice when I wrote him up for not wearing his seat belt when driving a lift.  This was after I asked him 4 other times to follow the rules.

The supervisor that gave his notice is leaving to join Wal Mart.  We waive the clause that he has to be away for us for a year to join them.  I'm pissed because a manager for security told him they'd love to hire him.  That's a big no no with our contract with them.  Well that put the bug in his ear.

Morning guys.

Today will be a slow day. Major committee meeting offsite so the majority of the office is there. Tonight is our holiday party, so save for a few minor projects, I'll be chilling (and probably bored shitless) most of the day.

Sniping is so low in the workplace. The former CMO at my old company was lured away from a 10+ year career after building the entire marketing department by a bigger corporation. 5 months of wooing and a five-fold salary increase plus relocation costs paid got him to leave the company and move to Charlotte. In the time since his departure, the marketing department there has been systematically dismantled.

I just got home from the neighborhood holiday party. I've never lived in a community that has a neighborhood party so this was a first for me. I got to meet all of our new neighbors and everyone was so nice. Can't wait for another party.

That's cool.  The neighborhood we moved to in Raleigh had a Fall Festival where we were able to meet our neighbors.  I haven't heard yet about a Christmas get-together.

I am so mentally checked out right now at work.  This week's been rough, but I go to Jamaica on Sunday and only have 4 more work days this year with my vacation time and our holiday break (we get a legit break with pay).  I am so uninterested in doing anything productive right now.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
