Boss is closing early today to treat us to pedicures (I'm the only guy in the office, so we'll see if I just sit there and drink wine or if I actually get a foot massage) and dinner. The bite in the ass is, tomorrow she's closing the office, but only for those who went to Boca for the Summit. That excludes me and the girl who stayed behind to man the office. We were told to do that, so it isn't like we skipped out or anything.

I have no problem with those who worked the show being rewarded, be it through extra PTO or bonuses or something, but at least make it something that doesn't exclude the other people who did bust their asses, even if they didn't physically go on the trip. I suppose I'm being petty about it, but it kinda sucks that everyone gets a free day but us.

Nah, she's treated us to lunch and is taking us out tonight. The extra day off is to compensate for the extra hours they put in last weekend. And I am not arguing that they shouldn't be rewarded. They busted their asses. I just wish it was being done in a more tactful way that didn't make us (or perhaps more appropriately, me) feel like we were superfluous additions that didn't fully contribute. "Everyone have off, you worked so hard....except you and you. You didn't work as hard."

No not really. But I do know she realizes we weren't there, so there is a sense of us not fully taking part, despite all we did leading up to it. She is that type of person, so no, while she probably isn't specifically saying we didn't work as hard, it is a bit shitty the way she is doing this. She sent an email to everyone in the company that they would be off Friday, but excluded me and the other girl. We found out when we heard others talking about it, and I haven't spoken to her about it really. So it's like this thing that is being secretly dangled about. I just think it's shitty way to do it.

Yes! I love Jeremy Cioara for training and he does the CCNA videos. Most of those people are so monotoned and boring, but he's good. He makes jokes and is very lively with his method. The problem is that since they just updated the CCNA exam, he hasn't completed all of the new videos yet. However, I think he completed enough that he covered the CCENT topics. Check their website.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

We had our annual Summit in Boca last week. The entire office emptied to work the show except for two of us who were told to stay back and man the office.

Therefore, we didn't have to work an extra 32 hours. I'm all for rewarding their extra work, but do it in a way that doesn't exclude others. Instead, she gave everyone tomorrow off, but we have to report.
