I hate that, man up and put your two weeks in. We've already got it good compared to most other countries, where you're expected to give 1-3 months notice before you leave your job.

I've got tentative plans to meet some friends in the city for beers, but those seem to be up in the air. I've also got my former boss's boss in town today and tomorrow, so drinks with old coworkers is also on the table. I'm not sure if I'll end up doing one, both, or none of the above after work.

Nothing important.

I work with an actuarial firm that does third-party administrative work for several life and health insurance companies. Operations, customer service, new business, various and sundry other things. Dreadfully boring.

Mornin all.

6:22am and the sun has been up and birds singing since I got out of bed at 5:45am. Amazing how much more sun we get in the summer than the winter. I hate winter. I only truly wake up and live for 3-4 months out of every year, and finally it's mid-May so that post-hibernation good mood is finally starting to kick in. Wish it didn't get so cold as soon as September 1st hits but for now I will just look forward to the next 3.5 months of decent weather.

PS - for anyone who didn't know and ever wondered (probably nobody) the seatless bike in my avatar is there because in early 2004 when I first joined DT.net (pre DTF forum) we had someone here building an addition on the house and one day he unloaded two saw horses, a couple of tool boxes, a lot of wood, and this seatless bike. I found it hilariously intriguing and so took a pic of it and made my very first thread EVER on any DT forum, titled "WTF?" and posted this pic and explained the situation.
