Tina S cover of the Best of Times
« on: December 24, 2015, 01:42:43 AM »
Perhaps many of you already know who she is, but I just love posting amazing young musicians like her. Check out her version of Steve Vai's For the Love of God. She is absolutely incredible and kind of makes me want to put the guitar down and walk away because I feel so inadequate as a guitar player after watching her.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=he7WgkbiWwU

That guitar solo is IMHO the best thing about the whole album, and she did a great job with it :tup
Zydar is my new hero.  I just laughed so hard I nearly shat.

No need to feel bad about your skils,  they show it doesn´t take that long to play good if you practice the right way.

Yeah that girl too, there also a video of her playing Lost Not Forgotten.

I agree with you about the practice though, but usually "the right way" is really just "shitload of time", unless youre some kind of god (or Asian ;))
I think I read somewhere that JP himself practiced 6 hours a day in his youth, and as an adult I simply dont have the time

Wow, she is really good!

BTW - I've always thought that this particular solo is similar to Randy Rhodes' solo in Ozzy's Mr Crowley: https://youtu.be/G3LvhdFEOqs?t=4m20s . And also, to this: https://youtu.be/ZBR2G-iI3-I?t=1m12s  ;D

This and the OP are really amazing.  The thing with this one that I find odd, and maybe it's just the camera angle, is that her pickingant looks like it has a lot of play in it.  i.e. much wider and less efficient range of movement in it than what I would've expected to see.  Not a knock on her, because she's clearly awesome, but I think I would've expected to see less pickingant movement.  Again, could be just the camera angle.

Eesh that vibrato.  I couldn't continue.  I think I've seen her play before though she has some great technique  ;D
