Anyone think that the "eyes" might belong to the band ?

Bottom left looks like it could be Jordan.

5 members plus Rich Chycki ? :P
No way any of those is Myung's. Ha Ha

I thought A Better Life might perhaps be the instigators of the rebellion in Ravenskill promising their people a better life if they join the Militia and rebel against the Empire.

It did came to my mind when I did my parody cover with Mangini's face.

The new titles definitely look interesting. A lot of them sounds like they could be ballads or at least softer songs.

Anyway, I'm betting that Lord Nafaryus will be the Count's brother...

Edit: Sorry The Letter M. At least now I won't make the same mistake again XD

"sojourn" implies the hoverers (NOMACS) were only temporarily hacked by the rebels, indicating the second disc will be the empire striking back.

This sounds like a mix between The Lord Of The Rings, Game Of Thrones, The Hunger Games, and Star Wars.

Lord Nefaryus

I guess this will be a problem for months (or maybe even years) to come. Part of me likes the neat, oddly-spelled names for these characters, but the Grammar Nazi in me cringes when people cannot be bothered to spell them correctly. Then again, you can't really misspell Victoria... :lol

Yeah I felt like a fool last week too when I realized I've been spelling it as Nefaryus all the time.

I'm wondering how long these tracks will be!

Will they all be DT12 length with 4-7 minute tracks or will there be a few long ones and a few of them being 1-2 minute interludes?... Time will tell! Maybe disc 2 is an Epic disc or maybe it follows a similar trend of 11 tracks

mangini can't get for great and strange idea to dt better than MP. when i listen to ADTOE and 12th studio album.i get founding the special riffs.for EX:This Dying soul riffs that give the power and idea to dt for making concept album or other thing! when MP left the band. we can tell that the dt left the greatest drumms line/conceptual ethod/the astonishing melody/.so mangini work for dt as robot playing drumms.he only move his hands and legs. ofcourse he is very fast in drumms.but he plays drumms as playing the robot without mind. hey portnoy THE HEY DAY in dt is over after BC&SL. but we w8 for 13th album.iranian fan of dt around the world always vote to MP after he leaving the band too.

Now I speculate the European The Astonishing shows will just be the album. Since 2 discs of 80 minutes = 2 hours 40 minutes. Even if the discs are only 60 -70 minutes each there'd probably be an intermission of 10-20 minutes between act 1 and 2.

Well, I wasn't supposed to reveal this, but since you are SO close, it doesn't really hurt at this point.  According to information I have directly from the band, the live shows will consist of:
-The Astonishing:  Act I
-intermission
-The Astonishing:  Act II
-Encore:  You Not Me; You Not Me II (Reprise)

mangini is a bit robotic but he knows his place in the band.

And Petrucci just waves the back of his hand if Mangini starts thinking otherwise.

It is also why we don't have any new "making of" footage.  Every time they think they have a good 3 minutes of footage they can use, Rudess gets caught saying "oh how cute.  The drummer thinks it's people" and they have to toss it all out.

Some wild speculation about the storyline and how the songs may sound, with of course no assumption that I'm actually right:

1. Descent of the NOMACS  - non musical intro, like I Remember Now for Mindcrime, or with minimal instruments like Regression.
2. Dystopian Overture - The true opening of the album, instrumental, just like Overture 1928.
3. The Gift of Music - First song with lyrics, anthemic and uplifting.
4. The Answer - More introspective song, after having discovered the gift of music they found the answer to... something.
5. A Better Life - Possible ballad, in Ravenskill they long for a better life.
6. Lord Nafaryus - Song of the bad guy, heavy and eerie.
7. A Savior in the Square - Back to the good guys, the chosen one shows up.
8. When Your Time Has Come - Another uplifting song, preparing the chosen one for whatever he has to do.
9. Act of Faythe - Balladish song about the female character.
10. Three Days - Well, this is kinda open to any interpretation, the chosen one has three days to get ready to spring into action or something.
11. The Hovering Sojourn - instrumental outro to the first disc.

Something tells me that the 15th song (4th on the 2nd Act) will be called "Lies Within". ::)

Any thoughts as to what the NOMACS next to the first and last tracks of Act I mean?

NOMACS will be introduced as the evil minions of the empire in track 1; they will have been hacked by the rebels by the time the sojourner track rolls around, trumpeting smooth kenny g tunes.

Someone mentioned somewhere that it might be spoken tracks by these NOMACS, meaning they're not really seen as songs, just something to round up the concept, and as they're first and last on Act 1 it seems very plausible.
