I'm a Romero nut as well; so I have all of his films (and the remakes). And I'll say that the 2004 remake of Day is better than the original in my opinion (runs hard for the door).
The 2004 remake is basically a completely different movie. I'm not even sure if remake is the right word, but I enjoy them both for different reasons. The 2004 version is a great horror film though, probably Zack Snyder's best film IMO.
Agreed; it may be Snyder's best film. I was pumped for it when it came out; and I was not disappointed that it turned from the original.
And I meant to say the Dawn of the Dead remake was better than the original; in my original post I said "Day". While the Day of the Dead remake was ok, it doesn't come close to the (underrated) original Day of the Dead. Ah... the 80's!
As far as Faces of Death is concerned, I thought that all of the scenes were set-ups being portrayed as actual events; if Hef is right and some of those scenes were real, I'm not sure they should have been on film. I only really remember two scenes from any of those films; the curly fry girl in the water skiing accident and the man shot with a shotgun during some kind of protest. Obviously, the protest scene is more likely to be real...
