So, is like Google + way better, and a lot less of a waste of time than FB?

If so, I'd love to be signed up to join your burnt-weenie-sandwich-fest there.

I'm probably not going to migrate over unless it overtakes Facebook. I'm not the "first adopter" type.

It's also the reason why I have no trouble adding you DTF folks, in contrast to my Facebook where I don't want to add people I haven't met in real life.

No offence, off course. ;)

Likewise. It's not that I want to conceal anything from anyone, but I think it's best to keep my personal life and my public life separate, and to an extent, this is my public life.

I've had a GPlus for a while now, but I haven't mentioned it on here, 'cause I still kind of don't want anyone to add me. Nothing against you - I'm still here, natch - it's just that I'm not all that comfortable with the idea of my fleshy touchy friends mingling with the people I know from the internet. I think it's important to have a boundary, and I'm not quite sure how to control it, so I'm a little reluctant to go "alright, pile on, kids!" Skydive's added me, though, so I've put him into a brand new "Web-ternet" circle, and I'll see how that goes.

I'm trying to find if there's a way to sieve them apart. If there's a way that, for instance, comments from Web-ternet users might only be visible to me and other people in Web-ternet. What I did just now was posted a status exclusively to Friends, and then posted one the same one just to Web-ternet, so they both get the same info but any comments are separate. A little cumbersome, though. So aye: still not entirely comfortable with the privacy settings, but that's 'cause I'm still learning, yet. I'll see how it goes.

Also, I'm just gonna throw it out there, but anyone who's already dropped facebook for it has kind of missed the point of a social network. It's always going to be less of a social network than facebook, until such time as it's got lots of users.

Well, I for one have different degrees of "friends", so I find this exceedingly useful.
Especially my circle called "coworkers" is useful. They really don't to see some of the stuff I post to my closer friends.

Yeah the whole circles idea is the only reason google+ can exist.  I think its great that you can organize people into groups that you can easily hide or share stuff with.

The circles are good, and the fact that Google tried to streamline this thing and stay away from the random fluff that Facebook barrages you with. The poking, the stupid games etc.

It's all about how they integrate them. FB is incredibly intrusive to the user experience, if Google treads lighter I'm already happy.
