*Bump*

I've been listening to Isis all day. In the Absence of Truth and Oceanic are both incredible albums  :hefdaddy

A shame they're defunct now.  :sadpanda:

Reviving the thread. Some of ISIS's members did an interview a while ago talking about future projects and the new release of live songs.

Isis  :metal In the Absence of Truth is an incredible album. Shame they split  :-[

Wish I'd seen them live - was going to see them in Glasgow a couple weeks after I saw DT, but ended up not going  :'(

*bumpity*

So Sigz always hypes In The Absence of Truth as their best album, so I checked it out about a month ago.

Panopticon is like 50 times better. :hefdaddy :hefdaddy

Thanks for sharing that link.

Oceanic, Panopticon, ITAoT, and WR are all solid albums.  I was bummed when I found out they were throwing in the towel.  That interview gives me a little bit of hope, knowing that 3 of the guys are planning on writing/recording new music.

ISIS has reached an end. It's hard to try to say it in any delicate way, and it is a truth that is best spoken plainly. This end isn't something that occurred over night and it hasn't been brought about by a single cataclysmic fracture in the band. Simply put, ISIS has done everything we wanted to do, said everything we wanted to say. In the interest of preserving the love we have of this band, for each other, for the music made and for all the people who have continually supported us, it is time to bring it to a close.

Worst day of my life.

Bump for recommendation

In the Absence of Truth or Wavering Radiant?

I would start with ITAoT.
Wavering Radiant is very good, but i think ITAoT is more easily digestible for ISIS newcomers.

Cool. I can live with the ranking you made even though I think WR wins by a hair over Oceanic and Panopticon. But it's all amazing stuff. I still regret not seeing them in 2009 on their final tour. Hoping they reunite soon.

I'm listening to 'Threshold of Transformation'. Bizarre, they really ended their career with their best, most epic song ever. Or does anybody have something better for me than this song?
Not 'Down To F***', but 'Dream Theater Forums' .
