Heardle App?
« on: March 06, 2022, 10:48:29 AM »
Anyone else playing this?  I'm pretty proud of myself for completely failing at the song today.  LoL.

I never play Wordle but this app seems more like what I'd enjoy but I'm a little sad you only get one song per day.

Looks like a great game, but:

Quote
Each Heardle is randomly plucked from a list of the most streamed songs in the past decade.

Yeah, I am going to suck at that.  :lol

Yeah, I'd fail miserably at that.

I got yesterday's song in less than 2 seconds.

Fleetwood Mac - Dreams

That opening is imprinted on my brain for life.  :D

if it's based on recently most streamed songs, it's not worth my time.

However, if it actually were setup for just random songs, regardless of time period or popularity, I would be up for it.

It's like Beat Shazam, Name That Tune or the music questions that my wife and I usually do well with, with trivia, then I'd be up for it.

even as someone who very well keeps up with what's popular i've had trouble with some of these so far, it's a neat idea but it doesn't really work since there's a good chance you just outright haven't heard the song in question  :P

Yep, I just heard about this yesterday. Didn’t even read the rules, but got Dreams right away. Then today I let all 5 seconds play and had no idea. Checked the rules and it said most streamed of the last 10 years and knew I was out of luck on today’s.

Ok so I told myself I was going to play this game till I at least knew one of the songs. I didn't even care if I guessed it, I just wanted to recognize it. After nearly a week it finally happened! I knew the song, and after only 5 seconds. Of course it was a song from 1987.

I tried it a few times but it’s always a song I’ve never heard before. Wish they had a rock music version of this.

It does seem like there is potential for this sort of thing if they could hone it down to genres of music for people.

Rock version - yes!

But I also want the VHS version.   :lol

The first day I tried it was "Dreams" from Fleetwood Mac.  I was thinking "This is awesome!"  And, I thought that until next day's song - Kanye's "Black Skinhead".  And, the next day, it was Twenty-One Pilots.  Then, my thinking changed to "This is not a game for me."  If they did an all-Rock version, I'd be all in.  Until then, I try it from time to time.  But, I'm not expecting anything good.

I knew today’s song but wasn’t sure who it was by. I’d better stick to Wordle.  :lol

bump.

my wife just started playing the Monkees specific Heardle that someone created.

And I went down a little bit of a rabbit hole and found Heardles for:
-Rush
-Led Zeppelin
-Pink Floyd
-Genesis
-The Dear Hunter
-Coheed and Cambria

also there are Heardles setup for, but the page doesn't seem to pull anything in but a black page.
-Muse
-Marillion

I’ve played the Rush and Marillion ones, but the Marillion one went offline a little while back. I wonder if the script just ended when they ran out of songs.
