Another 'Something I Noticed' Thread

Has anyone else noticed that Raise the Knife could lead into Lines in the sand if you do the transition about 5-10 second before the end of RTK? Obviously they'd use the LITS synth sound, My thinking is that was the original plan but the label intervened and all that....

Also to not make this a stump of a thread, Any other 'demo' songs that lead into an actual song off the released album?

I noticed this on first listen, but I never cared to elaborate (just as much as I care for RTK :D).

But yeah, I guess it could very well be!

Yeah, that was the first thing I noticed when I first heard it too.

Yeah, but the RTK was not intended to precede LITS, right? The FII demos is basically the album the way the band had planned it before the label took over and the track listing is as follows:

CD 1
Raise The Knife
Where Are You Now?
Take Away My Pain
You Or Me
Anna Lee
Burning My Soul
The Way It Used To Be
Lines In The Sand

CD 2
Just Let Me Breathe
Peruvian Skies
Trial Of Tears
Cover My Eyes
Hollow Years
New Millennium
Speak To Me

I don't think so. Probably the order that they wrote or recorded them. Pretty sure the Awake and Train Of Thought demos are arranged this way, I could be wrong though. But I do know for a fact that Raise The Knife was the first song they wrote for FII.

RTK --> LITS would have been a great transition, but HK --> LITS is so good that I really can't complain about that!

Not quite.  The original intent was for it to go on the ACOS EP, so it was written before any stuff for FII.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

You're completely correct. In the booklet for the FII demos it says when each song was written and demoed and the track order is just chronological.

It's somewhat disappointing, because if Mike had ordered it the way he would have wanted the final 2CD version of FII to be ordered, it would just make it that much more authentic. As it is, we would just kind of have to guess. This is an interesting find about RTK, though.
