OMG something I just noticed....

Ok so I'm at this karaoke place and someone gets up to sing "it's raining men."

The beginning is VERY close to the end of In the Name of God.

Not saying it was ripped off or anything...I just can't stop laughing about it. Give it listen and sing the end of ITNOG over it. It's hilarious.

Obviously further proof that Dream Theater desperately attempts to secretly rewrite the past...but lets be honest, isn't this some past that could benefit from some rewriting.  Well played Dream Theater.

The biggest difference is that ITNOG is in 6/8 and "its raining men" is in 4/4 but still.....it's pretty damn close.  And funny.

They really only have 3 notes in common (F -> G -> Ab).

I agree with you that it was a purposeful rewrite. Similarities in melody aside, look at the structure.
