Jordan's solo in The Mirror from Live Scenes From new york

at 6:20. does anyone else think its awesome? or does it kill the song for y'all?
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Looking back with hindsight it kinda reminds me of a proto-TDEN outro solo. To answer the question though, I don't like it at all. Pretty much Jordan at his worst, too much random noodling combined with the screaming bender at the end, over and over again. I guess it makes sense song-wise, since they needed to bridge The Mirror with the solos from Lie, but not one of his finer moments in my eyes.

I love it.  The versions of The Mirror, ACOS, and New Millenium are my favorite all-time versions of those songs (and LTL is my favorite live version, a VERY close second only to the studio version of the song).

I always skip The Mirror when JR's solo starts. I don't like it but it's my favourite version of The Mirror(because of JLB)

This. I actually like "Thr Extended Mirror" a bit more than "The Mirror/Lie", which is by itself a fantastic combo.

I dont like it at all, as i dislike most of the things Jordan does while playing older songs.
Most of the times his overplaying kills the atmosphere and feeling of certain tunes, and this version of the mirror is no different.

The only one that bothered me was Take the Time.
