Not sure if its a chick flick, but 500 Days of Summer makes me feel all warm and tingly, followed by a bout of self loathing and giving up on ever finding love

Say Anything...

Not sure I'd consider it a chick flick, though, because it's one of the few romance films that seem to have more (or at least equal) male fans than females.  I guess it's not really a guilty pleasure either, because it's awesome.

But truthfully a movie that made women strong and men dopes written by a man is "She's The One", by Ed Burns.

Neither The Princess Bride nor A League of Their Own are chick flicks.  I think "chick flick" usually refers to a movie that is some type of romantic comedy (although not always).

My pick would be When Harry Met Sally, although I wouldn't call it a guilty pleasure (nothing I listen to or watch is a guilty pleasure).

Definately a chick flick.  I live 45 minutes from the place it was filmed.  I think its required you go there at least once if you live around here.

Actually I was born and raised where Slapshot was filmed (Johnstown, PA).  Dirty Dancing was filmed at Mountain Lake, VA https://www.mountainlakehotel.com/Section_Home.asp?SID=40 (https://www.mountainlakehotel.com/Section_Home.asp?SID=40) (Not to be confused with Smith Mountain Lake which is also nearby).

I'm totally torn about No Strings Attached. On the one hand, I want to see it because it has Natalie, but..........it has Ashton, and I usually make it a rule to avoid anything he does.

Titanic...was a weird one for me.

It really AFFECTED me.

I didn't want to watch it again.
The deaths of people...drowning is my biggest fear.

In no way am I saying it wasn't a good movie.
It was excellent.
I just can't watch it again.
Same with Shindler's List..though I think I was affected differently from that subject matter.

Titanic is....borderline a chick flick so I see where your co-workers are coming from.

It is kind of like Armageddon in that it is sort of a disaster movie with a romantic angle thrown in, although the romantic angle is far more prevalent in Titanic, and Armageddon sucks.

I'm saying Titanic as well.  James Cameron said he pitched it to the studios as a romance story that takes place on the Titanic.    ;D

Otherwise, it's been almost ten years since I dumped my last gf and she was the one who dragged me to see those chick flicks.  My wife isn't a chick flick person.  I think A League Of Their Own should count.  It's a movie about chicks and I want to flick  Rosie O' Donnell of the screen.   ;)

Otherwise, I dunno. I do like the old movies with Bogart, Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, so maybe one of those. I'll go with Casablanca.

I have seen a massive number of chick flicks primarily because my mom seems to attract them to her cable channels like flies, and I actually find that if given a choice between watching a B grade action movie or a B grade chick flick, I'll watch a chick flick. A lot of so called chick flicks have surprisingly witty screenplays to them.

My chick flick guilty pleasure? Kate and Leopold. I watch the SHIT out of that whenever I come across it. And I don't know why, other than the central premise involves time travel.

I think I should be ashamed to admit I've probably seen that movie over 100x, no exaggeration, by choice.....but I don't feel ashamed. When it came out I was in 4th or 5th grade and 'we' must have seen that movie at least 15-20 times in the theater and all the subsequent viewings the past 20 plus years, it has to be over a hundred. Jennifer Grey had me spellbound for some reason and the scene at the end when her sister was rehearsing for the play and her knockers were on display were like magic to my youthful mind.

Nobody puts Baby in a corner.

50 first dates or the wedding singer. I must have a soft spot for Adam Sandler lol

I forgot about The Wedding Singer.  Drew Barrymore is all sorts of cute in that.  I wonder if she'd do some drugs with me... hmmm
That girl had probably done her lifetime's worth of hard drugs by the time she was 15 and lost interest. She is a pretty well known stoner, though (at least when she's not knocked up).

Exactly my point.   ;)   Relapse is a wonderful thing.

I can't honestly think of a single chick flick I like. Most chick flicks I've seen, I associate with a girl. So I enjoyed them because of the girl associated with them. But the movies were pretty terrible in of themselves.

I've never seen Mean Girls.  Does it have acapella singing?

Thought of another one that's probably 51% chic flick.....49% cool movie.

Legends of the Fall

One of the greatest 'heavy petty' and making out sessions I had as a young lad was after a GF and I watched that movie. She was all worked up after watching Brad Pitt....maybe I was too  :\......but anyway, it was a fun remainder of the evening.

Why do people keep thinking Princess Bride is a chick flick? Have they somehow not seen it or something?  :rollin

Princess Bride. At least it seems like a chick flick.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

btw I know everyone's already ragged on you for this, I just really wanted to use that quote. :P

Mama Mia

Awesome movie.

And the only movie I've ever seen Meryl Streep be kinda hawt in.   It's probably the character....confidence + overalls = really sexy....  that whole, "so comfortable with who I am, I can wear anything and get away with it"... "earth mother" kinda thing.

Nope. I was referring to the style of humor.

I don't have any because guilty pleasure implies shame and/or dignity, and I have neither.
