He's a major Petrucci fan, but has become a force to be reckoned with in his own right..  whoever said that the programmed drumming is more interesting, show a little respect,  the guy is phenomenal and is helping JP to promote his new sig 8 string model.

I mean, it's a nice looking guitar, but there are other fantastic 8-string models out there that will cost you less than the Majesty would.

And why can't TAC (or me for that matter) simply not like what he's playing? I thought it was rather boring as well. Yes, the guy has chops, I know that because I've seen him play more often and no doubt he's a big Petrucci fan (as are many other guitarists), but that doesn't mean everybody should like what he does. I simply don't like what he plays, and that's okay too.

Yeah I really dislike the 8 string Junga Junga Junga GUNG GUNG GUNG !! sound... It never did anything for me and that's largely the only reason people get them.


Oh and Tosin Abasi's signature 8 is probably the ugliest guitar i've ever seen

In all seriousness, I've never been a fan of Gibson designs (though I do like the ES-339), even if they all have great tone (for the most part).

And yes, Tosin Abasi's design is not the greatest (IMO).

IMO all Jackson pointy guitars. The Ibanez RG series is disgusting. Especially the gloss black slab body 1 pickup 1 knob RG nine string.

The guitar in that pic looks good, if anything, the colour choice is the problem.
Guitars like the Wangcaster are awful indeed, but they're (intentionally or not) in the parody realm.
I would say SGs aren't great either, but I think they have some charm.
