The Letter M

AWE and S2N seem to be the two most popular songs along with BW.   Why would they not play those songs?

AWE is the best DT song since 6DOIT IMO.   I will still love the tour dearly but seems like a strange omission to me as it was the song I was most excited to hear from the new album.

Glass Prison would be sweet to hear though.

SFAM alone is worth the price of admission regardless.

The Letter M

We are 12 minutes into the first set, I think, and it's presumably only 55 minutes long. Has anyone seen any updates on the set anywhere?

EDIT - Found a tweet - https://twitter.com/AsianWill1991/status/1108552040374951937

SPOILERS! LAST CHANCE!!!

2 - A Nightmare To Remember

Is Mangini going to sing the growl part. Day after day and night after night!!

JP'll probably lip sync it. He did that with something else before, maybe The Test That Stumped Them All.

Number 2 - what of waste of time  :lol

Dear Lord no kidding (though to be honest when I saw it live it played better than I thought it would).
Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

Yeah, probably...

But I hate it when it's lip sync'ed  :tdwn

The Letter M

And song number 4 is... Barstool Warrior

Why do I feel like I'm gonna be disappointed if this first set is new album heavy. I mean, I get it, but I want to hear some of the older stuff...

Anguyen92

Dang it all, in my marathon of listening to all the DT albums, because I strapped for time (also wanted to listen to In Flames and Within Temptation discography since their show was two days before DT's show), I opted to skip Black Clouds & Silver Linings, because I thought they are not going to play something off of it and the Mangini albums prior to Distance Over Time (since I have listened to those enough on a regular basis and I should know which songs should come up).  Now I got to go and relisten to A Nightmare to Remember before the show tomorrow.

JP did say that the first set would have a "focus" on the new album, so take that as you will, but I'm willing to bet that at least half of the first set will be new music. If that's the case, I am willing to bet the encore will be nothing but older material.

The entire second set is full of older stuff though.  I do understand your point though.  I want to see something from Awake in this show and, hopefully, Surrender to Reason (the only song they have yet to play live from DT12).

Interesting but I'm the complete opposite. I think because I've seen them since the Awake tour and there are no bucket list songs anymore like there was for Rush with The Camera Eye and Jacobs Ladder.

Love this thread though. :)
Not crazy about Nightmare but it's fun live.

2 - A Nightmare To Remember

JP: "Hey Bosk, what songs would dtf.org like to hear live?"
Bosk: "Here's a list of all the songs submitted."
JP: "Great, let's play a song absolutely no one picked."
Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

In The Presence of Enemies Pt 1.

This set is quite the ride though. It's all fairly heavy

The Letter M

The 5th song played is... In The Presence Of Enemies (at least part 1)

Edit - sniped.

-Marc.

porcacultor

It figures that they would play another song tuned in C after UA! I just thought it'd be Panic Attack instead :lol

Great set so far. Did not see ITPOE coming!

Dedalus

ITPOE? WTF?

:omg:

I begin to think that they should play the d/t in full.  :lol

PALE BLUE DOT

Edit - judging on the time of the first set ending soon, this is probably the first set closer.

And if true, then that means the first set was only 6 songs. An hour long, with just 6 songs, with 4 of them being from d/t, with the other two being longer songs from the end of their 00's albums. Very interesting choices...

That presumably closes the first set?  That's a bit of a bummer, only six songs in that 55 minute time frame (one of them is a 16 minute song fills that timeframe).

gzarruk

Only 4 songs from the new album so far? We need more!

ANTR was unexpected and a very long song to fit into the set, though I suspect they didn't play the slow intro and just started with the heavy riff.

That is indeed the end of the first set. Looks like William Yates will tweet out the encore as well. Maybe if there are any surprises in the SFAM set, he may post those too!

-Marc.

Dedalus

Well...

if they come to South America, SFAM will be worth it anyway.

SystematicThought

It's crazy that ANTR hasn't been played live in almost 10 years, same as ITPOE. It feels like those are brand new. Time flies

I was thinking that as well. How does time break down? With no marker, things slow down.

gzarruk

Fun fact: this set contains all the songs they used for the drummer auditions.

BTW, Jordan was posting videos from his tour preparations and a couple of them were for FITL, so it's most likely one of the encore songs.
