Eddie Trunk announced today that JP is tentatively scheduled for an in-studio visit on Monday 2/18/19.

Happy JP and DT are getting the exposure, but man, I can't stand listening to Trunk any longer. I remember when he was cool, doing the late night metal show for WRCN (I think it was WRCN, could have been WBAB) 20 years ago. Nowadays, his intro music should just be "Kid Ego."

I didn't enjoy his interview with MP at all recently. Seemed like Trunk, who is a big MP fan, didn't even know everything that was going on with MP to do a good interview and ends up just talking about himself. Good exposure for DT for sure, but I am not terribly interested in Trunk interviewing anyone.

There's a Youtube user going by the name of "Metalfavs" that seems to upload most of Eddie Trunk's interviews (and clips of interviews), rants, etc. I don't know anything about him (her?) but usually a week or so after the initial broadcast the clips get posted. Subscribe to him on Youtube and I am sure the JP interview will probably be posted sooner or later.

Maybe I'm just biased, but John Petrucci is a master at giving interviews. I've never heard anyone else that can just make it seem like a casual conversation, give you details and insight, not sound egotistical and sound like he's really enjoying being there.

Nope....you're not biased. I don't think I've seen/heard him give a bad interview.....or one where he doesn't seem engaged and really in to it. He is always spot on and clear with his comments.....very kind and you can tell he's actually listening to the interviewer rather than just waiting to spout out a pre-rehearsed answer. Love his interviews.

Trying to listen to this but Trunk is unbearable.

I heard a clip of him with Geddy Lee earlier about Rush's last few shows. It last about three minutes and Geddy spoke for about 30 seconds of it.

Petrucci was great in that interview, but Trunk has a tendency to interrupt too much. I do like Trunks enthusiasm for DT music though and I could tell he was genuinely excited to do this interview with JP.

JP is great. Coolest revelations from the interview for me were that there is and has been talks about turning the Astonishing into a play/musical....that he's actually had the conversations already with the appropriate people. AND....that when asked about if he'd do another Liquid Tension he immediately said 'yes'....in an almost enthusiastic manner.....but did say that there haven't been ANY plans to....only that he'd totally be open to it.

After hearing that....plus with Jordan already playing with MP again.....I'd say it's just a matte of time before that actually happens...not IF it will happen.
