First vote for Untethered Angel 
It's early days, as I've only listened to FITL twice and UA 4 or 5 times, so it's all subject to change. But UA just grabbed me a bit more. The first half of FITL hasn't done much for me so far, especially the vocals - the melodies just seem a bit uninteresting. I like the second half of the song more, the mellow middle section JRs solo are cool.

UA I just feel has a more consistent quality feeling throughout the song.

Fall Into the Light was far more surprising in the first listen than Untethered Angel, but then again UA has grown on me considerably so there's that. Picked FITL either way.

Well, I'm going by the less popular option here: Angel.
It feels more cohesive than Light, the chorus is one of my favourites -if not my favourite- by DT, and the lyrics, man, it's like JP wrote them for me (not going to get into details here, tho).
The instrumental section in Light, tho, that's one of the best things DT did in a while, if you ask me.

Both are great, but I dig Untethered Angel more at the moment. It emphasises the aspects of DT's sound that I like more than Fall Into The Light. But they both rock.

Both songs are really good, but somehow FITL seems to me a bit more better structured. UA may be heard like a song that it could be a bit longer (and better), but FITL seems to have the exact lenght. Anyway, just to add, after the excellent vocal melodies from TA, the vocal part is the relatively weaker spot of these 2 songs.

Fall Into the Light, it seems sort like a fresh take on DT. I know I'm in the minority but I thought that post MP it still seemed like DT by the numbers, not bad, but also not great, but this song, this song is great.

I'd say Untethered Angel as I find the verses and chorus much more exciting on Untethered angel. I can see myself eventually change my mind as Fall Into The Light has some really cool musical ideas, but I frankly can't recall any of the vocal melodies even after just listening to it.

I voted for FitL, I may or may not change my mind.  I listened to them both the last couple of days on Amazon one after the other. (now about a dozen or more listens each).  I am really digging UA more than I was. At first I was kind of put off by the sound of the vocals, but after listening this way (and my favorite way... when mountain biking), it is totally growing on me. It seems most of DT's music is like this.  Now,  I feel myself head-banging and wanting to turn up the volume. I find the chorus for UA in my head and it seems like I have a feel for the album listening like this. It will be another great one.

Yes, especially when I focused on the lyrics, I find the emotions of the melody fit to a T.
