This one is great, but I don't like when James live goes for the upper register. I like it better when it flows in the same range as before.

Indeed this is a great example! I love it as well, the live version feels flat in comparison. Curious how JP and MP don't backup-sing here. (I mention MP since I'm thinking of the Live Scenes from NY version)

I definitely agree with the "see my diary on the newsstand" part of voices, it is a really great moment. If it counts, my favorite is the chorus to Lines in the Sand, specifically the way James and Dug sing "Drawing Lines in the Saaaaaaaaaaand"

The backing vocals in Home are pretty great. Portnoy's harmonies are awesome on this song. But as someone said before, the best backing vocals are in the Beautiful Agony section on A Nightmare to Remember.

These. And I would add the two pre-chorus sections in As I Am, "I've been trying.." and "I've been wasting..", love them on both L@B and album version.
My absolute favorite though is a JLB/MP delivery on two lines from Home on the LSFNY DVD, "I never thought that I.." and "But I can't resist myself..", gets me pumping every time! I'm not sure but I think what they do there might be the opposite of vocal harmony, is it vocal dissonance? I have no idea, but I love it. I'm not sure it was voluntary either cause I haven't heard it in any other live performance of the song, it was a perfect sound mixing job in terms of volumes balance between MP and JLB IMO.
