Strong batch so far, but only 2 more songs on the album that will get >= 8 from me.

So I scored all the albums today + ACOS, and did the liberty of keeping a spreadsheet and scored TA in advance. And these are the album means that came up:

WDADU        6.75
I&W              8.25
Awake          8.36
ACOS           8.0
FII                7.82
SFAM           8.0
SDOIT          8.42
TOT              8.0
OCT             8.06
SC               6.86
BC&SL         7.50
ADTOE         8.39
DT                8.44
TA                8.45

WOW. Looks like I am the official poster boy of the fan of the Mangini-era DT.  :lol

I thought Awake would be much higher because I treated it as my favorite album for the longest time until TA came in. BUT what could explain it is that it has the lowest standard deviation score among the albums, so it is high scoring and consistent, which makes it a very pleasurable album experience for me.

Wow, only a 1 for Ravenskill.  It seems like such a diverse track that would have wider appeal.  What don't you like about it?

Given that I only rate it a 1/10, basically everything. :lol There's just nothing in the song that appeals to me on any level.

I suppose that I could... but instead of users just throwing a number up there, it would be more interesting to see them reply to this thread with their average song score for each album and rate them that way,  that is, add up the ratings for all the songs on the album, then divide it by the number of songs to get an album rating. Some people may be surprised.

Here are my average song scores, definitely not how I'd rank the albums, especially with The Astonishing and SFAM, where certain songs drag down the average by a lot even though they're only a couple of minutes. The rough sketch of it is not bad though.. I&W on top, WDADU FII and Awake as the bottom three (not counting TA as it should probably be higher), and the Portnoy RoadRunner albums around the middle. I think I prefer scoring the albums so we can take into account other factors than just individual song scores, but I'm fine with you using this too.

I wonder if these averages are being done while incorporating the song length. That would make sense to me more than simply treating all songs equally, where Through My Words can change an average as much as Home can.
