I'm notorious for starting threads that already exist my apologies if it does. I couldn't find one.
This song is amazing. It has been stuck in my head for the last 48 hours! From the opening notes to the infectious chorus, it swells with brilliance!

pantsofeternity

I really like those slippery guitar octaves doubling the vocal hook.

Nearmyth

This one has one of the best choruses on the album, very brilliant stuff.

KevShmev

Great tune. Definitely one of the best choruses on TA.  :tup :tup

TheOutlawXanadu

Unbelievable song. As great as the singing parts are, it's the beginning that I think takes it over the top.

pcs90

The whole thing is great. When I listen to it separate from the album, I usually skip the ending because on its own it feels out of place, but within the context of the album I love that twist at the end with Daryus.

PROGdrummer

I think this particular song is a 10/10. Would love to see it included in future setlists, its a great standalone song and the ending bit can transition well into any other darker/aggressive tracks.
The intro is such a great callback to Yes or a Dixie Dregs vibe as others have pointed out.

YtseJamittaja

Top 5 songs from TA but one thing that bothers me is that James is singing that "I'm waking up" line too many times with same style!

RuRoRul

I like the intro but after the first minute and a half or so I thought it became one of the more boring songs on the album... contrary to what some have said I think the chorus is very repetitive and bland.

The beginning is very good though, wish the rest of the song was more like that. Also the end with the Daryus part is a good part for the album.

johnnysuperfan

really like the vocal riffs in the chorus:  "I'm waking up" .... "Now That Yesterdays Gone" around 4:20 mark of the song. James executed that perfectly, definite highlight of the album for me

ariich

Definitely one of my favourites, top 5 on the album easily. The proggy intro is fantastic, the choruses are beautifully emotive, and big dramatic finish is superb.

Totally agree. I adore this song so much. The intro is DT sounding like DT and yet nothing like I've heard before from them. But the way that it changes feelings really make you feel how this album was written to score the story. From Faythe realizations, to Arabelle understanding she can't and shouldn't hold her daughter back, to Daryus accepting his mother's order while thinking of his own plan and side of the story (He will bring "justice"). Lyrically it's easy to see and write. But musically? DT outdid themselves. :hefdaddy

I personally enjoy the repetition of the lyrics in this song, it's a catchy charm.

The harmonies in the 3rd chorus are perfect. Also I kind of like how it starts out with the bombastic, driving intro and then mellows out into a more humble groove for the rest of the song. The unexpected turn of mood without deriving was executed well and is one example of the mature songwriting DT has adopted on this album.

TheAtliator

The whole intro is just completely AWESOME. A prime example of DT always creating things that don't sound like ANYTHING they've ever done, yet it's still totally in their style. It's absolutely perfect when it finally flows right to the verse after all of that. I'd love to hear more in the song to reflect or expand on the intro. The verses and choruses are really great too. Once the story gets mixed into it, it becomes pretty forced though, and that's too bad.

:metal :omg: :) :-\ :)

lonestar

By far my favorite on the album. James just shines so much on the soft, melodic stuff, especially when he has a sweet chorus to sing. This is on in a live setting that would benefit from a skilled backup vocalist to really take advantage of the beautiful harmonies late in the track.

erwinrafael

The intro for this song is the second best Mangini drum composition in this album.:)

Lax

I think this song is in my top 5, I just love the chorus

Krissi91

Right now, it's my favourite "slower" song on the Astonishing :)

lordnafaryus

It's a wonderful track, it's the only track that actually made me skip back to hear it again on my first listen, even though I told myself I was just going to play to the disc straight through! :D

I thinks James' voice is fantastic at the moment, and actually prefer him singing in this sort of range as opposed to the higher songs.

Dreamer

This is possibly my favourite track from the album, certainly one of them.
