Happy New Year, DTF!

Please share what is the 1st DT song you are listening to this year? Any particular reason?

Me: These Walls, want to have a kick-ass new year and get over some things that have been holding me down for a while.

MirrorMask

I'm with DT in a downtime phase at the moment. You can't listen to everything all the time, it's impossible, nor I listen often to what I would still regard my favorite bands. So since the last album came out in 2013 I don't have it in my daily / weekly or even monthly rotation anymore, and I don't listen to casual songs here and there, in my limited time (I work all day and then I'm also into TV series) I go for full albums.

This means it might actually be that I don't feel the need in this month to listen to DT, and that the first song I will hear from them this year will be Descent of the NOMACS when I will buy the album at the end of the month!!!

Train of Naught

Apparently I listened to one DT song just after waking up with a terrible hangover, Disappear. No clue why, but there you have it.

This for me, unless another song is going to be released in advance.

I could answer this, but it wouldn't be fair.

I havent listened to a DT song yet this year. My first song in general was Supper's Ready though.

Mladen

Overture 1928

Breaking the 4th wall DVD was still in my player this morning.  :metal

Noxooooooooonnnnn!!!! (Shouted Like "Kahn!!!!" from Star Trek) :lol

CoT67

Overture 1928. Best opener of every new year ever

Counselor of Prog

Listened to "As I Am"(live) today.

Pragmaticcircus

I just realised that Caught In A Web was on my playlist last night, so that I guess. Apart from that, I might try not to listen to Any DT until the new album comes out?

MustActFastToCoverUp

Afterlife. I didn't plan it, just watched some last summer's live footage on youtube today and that was the first song.
Not one day without DT, has it come thus far with me?
Happy new year everybody!

I think my Dream Theater fandom is dying. I didn't listen to any of their song since the year began. :neverusethis:

noxon

My first old DT i listened to today was Trial of Tears. The second was Voices.

Same as for MirrorMask, the firsttrack on TA might be the first DT track this year.

The Cat Of Tuscany

I listened to The Gift Of Music earlier today.

Still a great song.  :metal

Crow

it'll prob be the first track on The Astonishing whatever it's called
turns out signatures are fundamentally broken now so here's my passive-aggressive signature about signatures instead

425

I imagine it will be Regression. I'm going to try to push forward on my DT discography run and finish it up by the time The Astonishing arrives.

theshatteredfortress

Well.................the drum solo from the Happy Holidays if that count as a song :).......................if that doesn't count it will be Ytse Jam from the same Happy Holidays 2013 release.

Tx

Happy new year DT fans around here.

I'm really looking forward for The Astonishing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bertielee

Braking All Illusions. Obvious reason : it's beautiful and my favorite in their most recent stuff.

Exactly what I had in mind, though I wanted to start 12 days prior to release and listen to one studio album a day. I imagine that might not happen though as  noxon mentioned to listening parties in Europe and I might hear TA sooner..

The Curious Orange

Surrounded. I put the Mexico tracks from the Romania DVD on.

Zydar

I haven't listened to any DT yet this year, but I'll spin TGOM now in anticipation of the album release.

thosava

Because of that other thread, my first DT song of the year is The Ones WHo Help to Set the Sun  ;)

pcs90

I'm pretty sure it was "Eve"...mostly it's been side projects like LTE, an Evening with JP and JR, and some of Jordan's solo stuff.

chaossystem

Late last night and early this morning (1st-into-2nd) I watched the first half of the Luna Park DVD.

Same here with Trial of Tears.  Are there any songs on the new cd that good?

Waiting patiently for your review......

TheCountOfNYC

My first DT song of the new year was Constant Motion on Rock Band. But I failed that so my first full DT song of the new year was On the Backs of Angels (also on Rock Band).

I started it a while ago, like in November, but it has been a bit of slow going. I did get through SFAM last night, so I'm on SDOIT now. Almost halfway through.

V_R11

Can't remember for sure, but I think it was A Change of Seasons
