I´m interested what is your favourite song among these "lesser" DT songs, if i may say so. By any means are these bad songs, i like You Not Me, Honor Thy Father and BMUBMD  :D

Tough call out of JLMB, TGD, and HTF, which are all great DT songs. I went with HTF, but could just as easily have gone with one of the other two.

I would not put The Great Debate among these songs here, at all. By far and away my favourite song on 6DOIT Disc 1.

I agree, I thought it was considered one of the better DT songs. I knew some people weren't fond of the intro and outro with samples but I was under the impression that most of the song was generally highly regarded.

Well then, i guess that was my mistake for TGD, should i remove it or..  :-\

EDIT: Removed TGD, vote again, guess it was to easy :D

Hahah, I love these songs so much!

In any case, I voted Just Let Me Breathe. It's up there with my favourites on any given day.

jayvee3

Just Let Me Breathe for me. Particularly live versions which really bring it to life. I also like HTF and enjoy POW more than many others it seems.

I actually could have TGD amongst these - to be honest, it's easily the weakest offering on 6D for me. I actually quite like the samples and the intro, but then I just find it a bit 'meh'. And although FII is one of my top 3 albums, I feel Burning My Soul is one of the weakest songs from any album, that could easily be on this list well before a few others..

Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

Even though I still find the bridge pretty awkward, Just Let Me Breathe gets the nod for me from these tunes.  I listened to that song a ton for years when we had only 4-5 DT albums to listen to.  :metal

Nomaniac

Since TGD isn't on here anymore (which would by far be my choice) I'm going with Honor Thy Father!

Crow

turns out signatures are fundamentally broken now so here's my passive-aggressive signature about signatures instead

ThatOneGuy2112

Never Enough, but HTF could easily get my vote as well.

Build Me Up, Break Me Down. Narrowly ahead of Honor Thy Father.

Awake77

Why so much hate for Honor thy father?? It's in my personal TOP 5!
Never Enough and Prophets of war are nice, but HTF to me is superior on every level.

Train of Naught

I don't think you read the title correctly, Honor Thy Father seems to be the most loved out of these  :P

Nomaniac

I think he means "why is it even included on this list?"

Train of Naught

Oh that makes sense. TBH I don't understand why any of these are in this list, this is a list full of solid material IMO, except for the FII ones.

Setlist Scotty

Without a doubt, Never Enough. I've never had a problem with the lyrics - in fact, I can relate to them, seeing what MP/DT has gone thru in dealing with certain fans. Musically, I like Muse, so the heavy Muse influence doesn't faze me at all. But what really makes me enjoy this song is the instrumental section - absolutely love it!

My runner up would be Honor Thy Father - didn't realize that it was considered a "least favorite" but it's definitely a great track to me.
Quote from: BlobVanDam on November 13, 2015, 07:37:14 PMAs a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

Never Enough

1. NE/HTF
3. ARoP
4. Just Let Me Breathe

5. YNM/POW

7. Build Me Up, Break Me Down (one of the worst DT tracks IMO)

You mean you have listed ALL the songs by DT in the order of which you like them???

Gotta admit, you've got dedication! :tup

CDrice

While none of those songs are bad, for me Honor Thy Father is definitely a notch above the others.

wideworldofmike

Expecting everyone to bow and kiss your feet
Don't you see respect is not a one way street
Blaming everyone for all that you've don e wrong
I'll get my peace of mind when you hear this song

Could listen to that a million times in a row :metal

Of course, we love ranking stuff here at DTF  ;)

BlobVanDam

DTF was built on a strong foundation of ranking things, and then arguing about said rankings of things. :tup

That said, YOUR RANKINGS ARE ALL WRONG :neverusethis:
