Streaming from Australia. Mega delayed. They're talking about touring and everyone here is saying "OMG THE STRINGS AND GROOVE". And I never realised Jordans voice was that epic lol.

Hopefully it isn't against the rules for someone to post a recording of this later since the band is clearly OK with it being played...

RMGadelha

That... oh... my... I know this is alot different from the rest of the album, but boy this just became one of my favorite songs from their most recent albums. INSTANT like.

wolven74

is there anyway we can post a link to the song, without going to sirius xm. I'm assuming if they're premiering it tonight, it'll likely be online somewhere tonight or tomorrow, yes?

Systolic

Recorded it.

Not that hyped about it.  Kinda bland song imo

Pragmaticcircus

Yeah, can someone record even? If it's not against the rules, with it being on a radio show  :corn

jdprsaga

IMO It did sound kinda like from the last couple of albums... with an opera rock feel for sure.

paulstfu

Listening from México. Holy fuck, as soon as the page loaded, Moment of Betrayal began playing. I don't know what to think. The chorus is immense, the instrumental break before the solo is glorious... OH MY GOD, THAT SOLO!! I'M SHAKING, HOLY FUCK!!! :hefdaddy

Voices

I'm addicted already. What a beautiful and powerful song!

Sounds just like ADTOE and DT12.

My opinion as well..
solo and Myung unison before the solo were great tho

Systolic

The instrumental section sounded cool but it was way too short and not fulfilling.

James sounds really overproduced

RMGadelha

I'm glad. I'm not looking for long instrumental sections. And the rest of the album from noxon and other reviewer's words is completely different. I even got A Glass Prison pre-chorus vibe.

I do agree with that. Could just be this song, because I didn't exactly feel it on TGOM, but geez. I couldn't stand his voice on DT12 either.

Musically, sonically, or both?

I disagree. Obviously there are similarities, but I get a completely different vibe from it. This is probably one of the more single-ish or normal songs too, so not representative of how the whole album will feel and sound.

James does sound a little overproduced, but I wonder if that could at all be related to the "voices" he's doing.

Reminds me way too much of Behind the Veil, Bridges in the Sky, and The Bigger Picture.  Take those three songs and put them in a blender and you get Moment of Betrayal.  The song is REALLY formulaic in structure too.

I love long instrumentals, but I dislike ones that go on for too long with no purpose. Without having heard this new song yet my impression for this album is that there are plenty of instrumental parts, but a lot shorter and mostly without extended rambling technical solos that go nowhere. If this is true, I will probably love it.

Yeah, he sounds like on The Great Debate I think.

wideworldofmike

Moment of Betrayal sounds killer. Mix is amazing, Myung's bass sounds incredible, the sound stage they were able to create with all of the elements is insane, so much depth. Beyond pumped for the new record.

BlobVanDam

Of all the songs I've hear so far, this one is one of my least favourites. Does nothing for me.

And I loved it, so I can't wait to listen to what you've actually heard O_o

Laughing_man923

I will not sleep until I hear it regardless of what I think.

Dont let your DT fanboyism blind you

This song is very very by-the-numbers and bland.

chrisbDTM

I was really hoping this album wouldn't be 'business as usual' DT. Sure it's a new concept but it still sounds like the last couple albums. But yes yes 2 hours of music to hear before total judgement.

I mean, those are pretty great, and different songs. It is fairly formulaic in structure, but according to the reviews, very few songs are like that. It was probably previewed for that reason. It isn't exactly a groundbreaking song, but singles and songs that are previewed almost never are.

LOVED IT! I don't agree at all that it sounds like ADTOE or the self-titled. Can't wait to hear the rest of this :)
