What's happening with DT these days? Any news of an upcoming tour? New album?

The Letter M

Saw the thread title, rushed in here thinking the OP was full of ACTUAL news, but was disappointed.

Oh well. There's a lot of speculation flying around, but nothing concrete has been stated by the band members regarding the band's activity.

I found this on Richard Chycki's blog

Hi all!DT-LoudPark

The happiest of New Year's to everyone! I hope 2015 brings you much health, happiness, peace and great prosperity.

On October 19, 2014 Dream Theater headlined the Loud Park Festival in Tokyo, Japan. And on my return from Spain, post production and mixing of the 90 minute set were completed at the Street of Dreams as the show is set for broadcast early in 2015. Keep your eyes on www.dreamtheater.net for details.

Hmmm...according to setlist.fm, the set list for that show was:
False Awakening Suite
The Enemy Inside
The Mirror
Lie
On the Backs of Angels
The Looking Glass
Lifting Shadows Off a Dream
Enigma Machine
Along for the Ride
Breaking All Illusions
Overture 1928
Strange Déjà Vu
Pull Me Under

Meh. I mean, we already got all of those songs on BTFW (except "Pull Me Under", but we have so many versions of that already lol). I mean, if this is for broadcast, that's pretty cool. But that's not really BAND news, is it? I think we're still looking for "Tour" or "Studio" updates, but this is still cool nonetheless.

Rodni Demental

I sure didn't know about it, so it's still kinda interesting.

So I guess they did play an Images & Words song last year after all, albeit one time.  :xbones

I believe that was the setlist for all festivals they played that year. All non-festival shows were the Breaking The Fourth Wall setlist.

According to setlist.fm, it was played at least 3 times.

SuperTaco

For me, this is gonna be the first album cycle where I'm not crazily impatient. I'm excited, but I'm still enjoying DT12 plenty enough to get me through the bulk of the year.

Of course, I say that now but as soon as some concrete info comes out regarding the next album.. The Dream Theater train will roll by, and I'll roll with them.

TAC

That's great news. Hopefully it'll be some sort of release.
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

Yeah.

Corrected the thread title.
